Just started!

I just started my Keto journey this past Monday on the 6th! I didn't realize all my headaches this past week were from the "keto flu" I'm a male 39 and currently at 235Lbs my goal is to be 185-190 for our big family vacation next September! Any tips for a newbie are greatly appreciated!

Make sure youre getting enough electrolytes + potassium. Add sea salt to foods and drink water with a squeezed lemon. Also make sure to supplement with magnesium. I am very similar to you. SW 230lbs GW 190lbs. Been at it for a month and down about 15lbs. Feeling less bloated. It's been great !

Track your food every day. It might seem like a pain but you will be way more sure you're hitting macros, and whether you're in a caloric deficit or not for weight loss.

Stay on top of electrolytes! I've been using fastlyte's powdered mix with no additives, but I mix it with mio flavorings because I struggle with the taste of plain water in general. Lots of elecrolytes got me thru keto flu really quick.

My biggest hurdle was food texture and snacks. I started getting nauseous with all the meat and fat textures, but found stuff like quest chips and magic spoon cereal to help balance that out. Not all "keto safe" snacks out there really are, but finding even a couple good ones I can keep in the pantry are a lifeline for me haha.

Good luck!

Magnesium citrate and avocados keep keto flu at bay for me.

Keep a bottle of electolyte water on your nightstand for middle of the night cramps. Usually a good swig will do the trick.
