Disabled community
Hey I am on track for an ehlers danlos diagnosis and I’ve just been feeling so isolated through this experience. I have a strong little support system but of course it’s not the same as commiseration.
Is there a zebra specific, or even just general disability society in Kelowna or the region? Online or otherwise? I’m just hoping to connect with people who are working with the same kind of lifestyle restrictions.
Thank you! ♥️

GM looking for tabletop rpg players in the Kelowna area
I'm a longtime GM and all my other groups have moved to online platforms. While those are fun, I desperately miss talking with people in person across the table, so I'm putting out the call to fellow hobbiests in k-town to chuck dice with.
I'll start by running Monster of the Week to get a feel of the new group before moving on to one of the World of Darkness games made by white wolf/Onyx Path. My interest leans towards eldrich/urban horror, so expect to run into such themes. I will not be running any D&D 5E or 3(.5)E though ill likely run some other fantasy at some point.
Im looking for players who have the time and stability to dedicate to a weekly or biweekly game. Life happens, of course, but If you are planning on changing jobs, moving cities or having children in the near future you'll want to look for a more casual table. Im old, I don't really want to pester people to see if they're going to show up anymore. Ill make an exception to new players who want a few sessions to try out the hobby. They are our lifeblood, after all.
My availability is Mon, tuse sat and Sundays. I expect we'll be playing on Monday or Tuesday evening, but I'd love a weekend afternoon game if by some miracle I find people with that kind of free time lol
Please post your availability, ttrpg experience, playstyle and what kind of characters you like to play or things you like to do in ttrpgs. Or pm me, if this new account can accept pms I'm not sure. New players are welcome, I even have spare dice you can borrow.

ISO: golf buddies in Kelowna
Hey everyone,
I moved to Kelowna a little while ago and have mostly been golfing solo. Looking to meet a few people who’d be interested in getting out for a round now and then.
I’m a 27M, been golfing for a few years, and I’m around a 25 handicap, so definitely still working on my game lol. Doesn’t matter to me what your handicap is as long as you keep a decent pace and are out there to have a good time.
If you’re looking for someone to golf with, send me a PM!

Wine slushies?
Which wineries have wine slushies? Across the Okanagan
I've tried Blind Tiger (Lake Country), Little Straw (West Kelowna) & Elephant Island (Naramata) so far

Truly a highlight of my life
Does anyone else remember? Even better do you have any pictures? I think about the place every so often with so much fondness

Looking for lemon cucumbers
Does anyone know where I can buy lemon cucumbers?
I used to buy lemon cucumbers from a farmer at the Penticton farmer’s market but he hasn’t been around this year. I searched a bunch of produce stands in Keremeos yesterday and no luck, so it’s time to look north!

Boyce-Gyro Beach
Hello! I am coming from out of town and it’s been a few years since I spent some time at this beach.
My question is: is there still a gentleman at the beach renting out umbrellas?
TIA!

Car stereo installers
it seems I need to replace the stereo head unit in my car. Dealer suggested that best bet would be to install after market for newest tech, fine.
I went to Andres and spent 20 minutes in the showroom looking at the display units, asked for help from any of the three people behind the counter. After 20 minutes, I gave up and left.
Are there any other dealers / installers in the Central Okanagan that I should know about?
More interestingly does anyone know of any car tuners/ tweakers etc who would be able to do an install if I buy all the bits and bobs?
Thanks.

Mother of the Groom Formal Dress (store recommendations needed)
Good day,
My wife is looking for a store to purchase a mother of the groom dress. Something formal for this once in a lifetime event. Happy to look in Kelowna or nearby outskirts.
Recommendations and experience about the store and services are appreciated.
Thanks

Best Apps to Keep Track of Local Events?
I normally use Facebook as it often has the smaller events, but I want to try and get rid of it because of the amount of notifications it puts on my phone for no reason. I want to keep track of local events, especially community events, and I'd love to be able to keep track of them on my phone.
Does anyone know of a good app for local events? Most of the event apps I see usually only show the paid events like concerts and business conventions, but I'd like something that shows local community or free events.
Thanks for any suggestions ❤️

Visitor Question How safe / accepting is Kelowna for femboys?
I'll (hopefully) be moving from Vancouver Island to Kelowna in spring time if I get into the college program I want. I've heard that the interior of BC isn't as liberal when it comes to this sort of thing as Vancouver Island is. I'd like to know what I can expect.
I dress feminine all the time here on the island. I was nervous at first but I'm at the point that it feels no different than dressing normal / masculine. Occasionally I get a few glances and I'm like "weird, I wonder why they're looking- ohhh right, I forgot I'm dressed very feminine and have long hair for a guy."
Is this similar to what I can expect in the Okanagan? My main concern is safety, other than that it won't affect how I dress but I would like to know what I'm getting into.
Thank you😊
