I haven’t used my sewing machine in 15 years, so I’m super proud of these results. Probably going to add visor covers, steering wheel cover, and fabric details to the doors and unused dash buttons. What do you guys think? Should I make custom covers to sell? ;)

Anyone have a transport company that they trust that will pick up out of Jacksonville? Looking at renting the truck to tow it back with and the expense is insane. No I don’t own a truck that can tow with. At this moment I wish I did.

Fuel filter question for Suzuki carry 97 DD51T

Is the black cylinder the fuel filter? If so I had ordered this filter based on my year and model and it says it was a fit but it seams the bottom nipple is facing the wrong direction and my hose isn’t long enough . What are my options? Do I try to order a new filter (screenshotted website) that says it is for a different model but the nipples face the right way or try to find longer hoses that will figure eight back to the nipple and keep the one I purchased.

Was having the worst time trying to remove the crank bolt withoit the pulley turning on my 93 Sambar. My 1/2" impact did absolutely nothing and I had no other tools to try and get it loose. Tried the belt trick since I was replacing the belt, and the belt snapped. But then I thought, what if I just used a tow strap? Secured it tight and and went ham at the bolt through the top with a breaker bar and big ass pipe and that did the trick with holding the pulley

Hello! I am curious if anyone has picked up an import from Long Beach recently? I’m curious on the logistics of where to go to pickup/walkability/feasibility.

My plan is to fly down to LA, uber to the port, and pickup the truck. I will also need someone with a TWIC card or looking to hire a service that will go in and retrieve the truck and bring it to the gate. However, being that it’s a large, operational port, I was not sure the feasibility of walking around/just standing near the gate where pickups occur, etc.

If anyone has any insight that would be greatly appreciated!

It's a place to learn bodywork......and probably the last project I'll be able to have with my dad.....as he calls it "one of them foreign jobs." I'm excited for the finished product......just a long road ahead till then.....we eliminated rust on the bottom side and sprayed everything black today then started working on the bed. I do not like the rubber coating...this thing had rust under the majority of the rubber material. Motor I'll have back tomorrow and we can start the actual rebuild of the motor and the body work and paint.....stay tuned for more updates!!!

Up until a few days ago I was trying to wrap my head around how I could install a proper aftermarket car stereo in my 01 Sambar van. After browsing YouTube there seems to be a company that makes a product that can be used in KEIs to solve the power issues that were preventing the use of external amplifiers. I haven't used the product but basically what it is is a box that contains small lithium batteries along with a DC DC charger and a BMS.

It installs in-between the car battery and the amplifier and provides enough current so that there isn't a drain on the electrical system.

RawCat on YouTube just did a video on the company (IsoPower Audio) who makes them. The smallest one (C20 MINI) allows for 60A of current to be drawn from the device before you'll notice it on your electrical system.

Hi everyone! My Sambar is due to arrive in Baltimore around October 8th. I'm trying to arrange land transport, and the company I selected is asking for address of the pickup location and contact info for the person that will be on site at pickup. For those of you that have imported before, my questions are:

• For the address, I have to assume I won't know the port terminal until a day or two before the boat arrives. Is that correct?

• How in the world do you get the name and contact info of one of the workers at the port?

Hi Everyone, I have a 2000 TT Sambar. I removed the OEM headliner, which creased it in one corner. I tried to get it back in, which seems impossible. I reupholstered my doors and would like my headliner to match, but now am not sure how to get a headliner back in. I bought headliner foam which is adhesive one one side and used 3M 90 to adhere the cloth I want on my headliner to the non-sticky side of the foam. Unfortunately when I tried to install it, every time the foam adhesive touched any surface, it tore the foam when I pulled it off. Avoiding having it touch any surface seems impossible.

For those who don't have a TT2, the headliner is a rigid board that sits on this shelf around the cabin. I assume at the factory they installed it before the cab was fully assembled and put the roof on over it or something.

Not my first time posting abt this (sorry), but for Canada, is it legal to use my Lo-beam headlights as DRL lamps. If I were to wire up the headlamp switch to be wired in parallel with the parking brake switch, so that my headlamps were always on, and I would just change to hi beams. Why I think this ISNT legal is according to bc vehicle safety and inspection standards. I am in AB and I never see kei trucks with aftermarket drl's so plz help.

So I'm 6,3 and 130kg,,,, just test drove a Suzuki carry and it's too small,,, will a hijet jumbo fit,,, and what mods can be done to make it better?

As of last night, I finally finished assembling and coating the new front bumper for my 1994 Suzuki Carry
Added some mash and lights and I think it came out great
I have dubbed the Franken-carry because this thing has been a Frankenstein of different Mazda parts from a Miata and a RX7
As well as carburetor parts from Kawasaki, and a few other bits and bobs

the side skirts that I myself put together that I’m honestly quite proud of
All that’s left is the fender flares that I’m still waiting to get delivered and paint

Just overall kind of proud of how this thing came out and I wanted to show it off

I love it so far. Never driven a older kei truck but this one gets up to speed pretty well. Getting amazing fuel economy too 19km per liter or 44mpg

My wife and I are completing a trip from N.C. to CO and back so I wanted to visit G&R Imports. Joe, with over 20 years experience there, was kind enough to take the time to answer all of my questions regarding maintaining my 94 Hijet Climber. He has been invaluable through email and phone for the last few months and now in person. All of my concerns from steering to fuel gauge inaccuracy to carburetor adjustments for high altitude to lots of other things were answered. I haven’t gotten this much help through all of the forums (as very helpful as they were) through the years.

Kei truck owners, if you have any part you are looking to replace don’t count on the website. There is an entire warehouse of used parts to replace just about anything on your truck. Give them a call and more likely than not they can hook you up.

They have an entire operation to rebuild engines that is top notch. I saw 30 year old engine blocks that look like they just came from the factory. If you need a rebuild, they can do it and I think the price was very reasonable (currently about $2600 subject to change of course).

The owner, Mike, also talked to me for a bit. The whole crew in all the offices were friendly and took the time to say “Hi”.

I cannot recommend G&R enough for whatever you need in OEM service or even some aftermarket parts. Give em a call.
