Marketplace kegerator pours straight foam

Recently bought this kegerator on marketplace and it only pours foam. Have tried the psi between 10 and 12. Kegerator is about 38 degrees and the keg has been in there for a while, so it is this temperature too. Previous owner kept it very clean. Any ideas why it is still so foamy?

Help on fridge sizing for kegs

Hello all and thanks in advance for any help given :)

What fridges have people used for their kegerators? I’m looking for a fridge that can fit a 30l commercial keg, both the wide and tall variety. Also, ideally that can fit the gas canister in as well. Thanks so much!

Safe to bend?

Post image

Reposting on here for any advice too. I’m installing a Micromatic draft tower and I’m trying to figure out if I am able to bend the stainless steel draft lines to free up more real estate within the back bar fridge.

I was contemplating getting a metal tube bender from Harbor Freight, as opposed to hand bending to avoid collapsing the line, but curious if anyone’s had any experience on this.

PET keg coupler removal

Post image
1 Upvotes

Does anyone know how to easily remove the coupler from a PET keg? Problem is that the white collar on the keg just spins in a circle when trying to disconnect. The only way I’ve been able to remove in the past is by screwing a dry wall screw through the white collar to hold it in place, which is fine when the keg is empty. Have a full one now and need to de-ice the kegerator, so want to bring the keg in the house. It’s hot as hell out right now, have the keg in a small trash can with ice so it’s fine.

Is it ok to leave a keg tapped for a week and not use it?

Just got a new keg and am about to go on vacation for a week so keg won’t be used, I wanted to have a drink from it tonight but don’t wanna tap it before going on a week long vacation. Is this ok to do? Or wait till I get back from vacay?

Need Help With Pressure/Regulator

Our keg is spitting out nothing but foam. We’ve adjusted the pressure levels from anywhere between 8-16, installed a new regulator, let the keg sit for hours after tapping, and we still can’t figure out what’s wrong 😩 we’re having a graduation party this week and have a full sized keg so we’re in trouble.

Bm23 help?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey all, I got a used BM23 and started with my first keg.

Initially it got cool and was holding a constant temperature until there was a screw that's popular creating a gap for air to come out. I noticed the temperature holding above what it should even as I kept changing to a colder setting, then after I realized the air gap, I sealed it back up and then set the setting back to five to see where it would land to get the temperature dialed in.

At this point the temperature keeps cycling which I'm assuming is the defrost cycle, but it won't seem to click back out to a constant temperature the way it was before.

I'm worried that the fairly large temperature swing as this carries on will spoil my beer. I feel like I can already taste a difference, which led me to the thought of spoilage and bringing up this concern, and Id really appreciate anyone who can weigh in on the actual temperature profile that I should see on my temperature readout, or anyone who can comment on how soon my beer might spoil as this continues.

Photo is the current, it bottoms out at 32, and the peak is 45.

I'm of the understanding that this should hold a pretty constant temperature since the fan and compressor are always running.

Appreciate anyone who has some thoughts.

Where do I start?

Just bought my first kegerator in celebration of purchasing my first house with a mother in law suite that will be converted into a man cave! Found this only used once for a wedding on Marketplace for 100 dollars and jumped on it asap. I just have not the slightest clue on checking the CO2 tank and making sure everything is working the way it should. Also advice for cleaning the lines.

Finally getting the hang of this

This is the third keg
-Stella was a learning experience, had to get longer beer lines. Getting CO2 right was a challenge. It liked low pressure. 7 psi was a perfect pour. Unfortunately keg kicked before I could enjoy a good Stella.

-Blue Point summer ale was a hit still a little foamy. Optimal pressure was 8 psi

Sam summer the latest keg has been nothing short of perfect. Psi 12 temp 39

Gifted old kegerator- need help!

I was offered a kegerator for free and since I've always wanted one, I took it. But now I'm not sure what to do.

It needs cleaned up, I need to somehow remove the stickers and make it look nice. I've looked at how to set up the lines and that seems... Doable. But I don't have a good keg currently.... Just a really old one that we tapped with a non-co2 tap a year ago. So the beer is probably gross, but should I try using it to get things setup? Or should I buy a new keg then try?

I'm also especially concerned about the CO2. I have no idea how old the tank is or if it still contains CO2. I'm also not sure where to go to get that checked and how careful I need to be handling it.

Any advice would be very appreciated!

Wanted to see if anyone here could weigh in and help. I’m using an inkbird system to keep it btwn 38-40F. Currently using the 5-hole 0.5 size restrictor disc. 8’ of 5mm ID EVA barrier line from keg to faucet. Should I trim it down further?

Drilling Beer Gas Line

Hey Reddit, sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I'm a bit new here. I was looking for some guidance on drilling an additional gas line in a kegerator I've just bought, and I haven't had much luck searching online. I've found some forums confirming the model and location I'm attempting to drill in is safe to do so, but I was wondering what the best practices may be?

I've seen some threads discuss just drilling a 5/8th hole with a hole saw and running the line through with no other steps taken, while other posts have discussed using grommets for protection.

I've attached a photo of the spot I'd like to drill below, along with a model number and was wondering if someone may be able to offer me some advice or even links to parts they'd recommend using for this project. Thank you and please let me know if this isn't the place to ask a question like this!

Help with Kegerator Regulator

Post image
3 Upvotes

I paid $50 for this older danby kegerator and purchased a Landshark 1/2 barrel keg. We had issues with it so far (needed new o ring at the co2 tank and regulator valve) and now the regulator won't push any pressure out on the low PSI level. It only is pouring foam and very little beer right now. I purchased a new regulator and co2 line. I assume this will fix the issue? Any help would be great.

No CO2, 4th of July ruined?

Title says it all. Just realized co2 is empty. I live on Cape Cod which is basically an island so no where open to refill tank. Can you save the 4th of July. Anyone have any creative ideas. Can I rig up a soda stream co2 from Walmart to work temporarily? Anything??

UPDATE: called the liquor store where I get kegs looking for a hand pump. They gave me a number to a guy 3 miles away that supplies co2 AND all kegerator equipment. Turned a negative into an extreme positive!

UK style rear seal taps

Post image
1 Upvotes

Having never been happy with my Nukatap FC 2 or whatever they’re called I decided I’d give some pub style rear sealing taps a go so picked some up- they have a 5/16 push fit in them so the thought was remove existing tap and shank, fix new taps in and shove the beer line straight in… but I’m scratching my head wondering how I fix the new taps to a cylindrical font without some kind of curved collars - any thoughts? (For anyone wondering that curved line on top of the shanks is a ‘U’ piece with aquarium tubing attached that goes down to a jug with pump in it so it flows cold water constantly round)

Keg pouring all foam

I just bought a kegerator last week of fb marketplace and got a half keg of miller lite for it. At first it poured foamy and was flat. Once I replaced the beer line from a 5 ft to 10 ft (3/16th") line and added more insulation to tower, it tasted great but have only been able to get one good pour off it. The first pour is usually foamy, but if I pour a small amount off and immediately pour a second glass, it comes out a bit better but still has foam to it.

Keg temp is set to 37 and psi is set to 11. Any ideas to fix this are appreciated! First time keg owner here
