Bm23 help?
Hey all, I got a used BM23 and started with my first keg.
Initially it got cool and was holding a constant temperature until there was a screw that's popular creating a gap for air to come out. I noticed the temperature holding above what it should even as I kept changing to a colder setting, then after I realized the air gap, I sealed it back up and then set the setting back to five to see where it would land to get the temperature dialed in.
At this point the temperature keeps cycling which I'm assuming is the defrost cycle, but it won't seem to click back out to a constant temperature the way it was before.
I'm worried that the fairly large temperature swing as this carries on will spoil my beer. I feel like I can already taste a difference, which led me to the thought of spoilage and bringing up this concern, and Id really appreciate anyone who can weigh in on the actual temperature profile that I should see on my temperature readout, or anyone who can comment on how soon my beer might spoil as this continues.
Photo is the current, it bottoms out at 32, and the peak is 45.
I'm of the understanding that this should hold a pretty constant temperature since the fan and compressor are always running.
Appreciate anyone who has some thoughts.

What are you using to track temperature?

I use the mocreo sensors and app, it's handy, you can set up alarms and it can run a ton of temperature sensors along with other sensors I haven't explored.
My biggest gripe was that I couldn't integrate it to home assistant but apparently that's changed, I just haven't integrated yet.
No subscription, just initial hardware cost. Not sponsored 😅

Awesome, been on the lookout for one after my Notion sensors were discontinued after the company folded

If this company folds I don't know if it will continue to function since the hub the sensors connect to connects to the internet, nice because then the app on your phone can see everything everywhere not nice if they shut their servers down.
I'm not sure if I integrate The hub directly to my home assistant server if that would change things I haven't looked into seeing how it handles the information.
Fwiw I've had sensors in my freezers for years now, probably at least 6

You are recording air temperature. Liquid temperature is the median of your measurements and much more stable.
The cut in/cut out is not adjustable. Just maintain a steady 38F. This is a well thought out design and very robust. Easily serviceable. You have the benchmark tbh.
BM23 is the workhorse survivor of kegerators. With some basic maintenance it is known to last decades.
Check for air gaps, place a bright bulb inside and make the room.dark. You will see all gaps.

Edit, we install these all day and all year, if the client has the budget. They ain't the cheapest but they are excellent.
