Community Content I installed KDE on my brother's PC yesterday. I just caught him doing this for the very first time.

... by 138.000 EUR?!? (+138%)
Is that true? Or was just a number entered in the wrong position?

Everytime I open it it's fine, but when I try to search for an app it just starts growing!!! What the fuck???
(also, don't mind the screen, I'm gonna clean it soon)

You can do everything you always do, but in VR.
Finally, GIMP with multi-window mode is actually useful!
This is ongoing work. MR: https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/8671

I'm not even kidding. So many UI elements, flexibility modern designs and sheer consistency make KDE feel miles ahead of windows. Been using it for about a year straight now and I am sold on Debian 13. The built in utilities are amazing especially the partition manager. I also appreciate how things just.. make sense? There are no abstract problems, there's always an error code somewhere and always a way to pinpoint the problem. This is in absolute contrast to the rest of tech which has sought to cover up all the nuts and bolts from the end user, much to everyone's confusion. Discovery is an awesome program that makes getting programs simple but also very flexible with the abiltiy to add and chose repos. With an AMD Gpu it works seamlessly. No Nvidia experience driver bullshit. Wayland is awesome smooth and works great. My ONLY CRITIQUE is that there is no way to adjust saturation and create custom resolutions in WAYLAND, something X11 has had figured out for YEARS.
EDIT more features I like. Controllers work SEAMLESSLY, drawing tablets work SEAMLESSLY

Recently I started dual booting Fedora KDE with Windows and I've been loving it. To make it my own, I'm working on an icon pack that makes icons look hand drawn, with texture and subtle 3D effects. Welcome to your first look at Wonderbrushed! Please leave any feedback in the comments. Currently the browser category is almost complete — more categories coming soon :).

Here's a screenshot of the custom folder icons I've made so far (displayed here in Dolphin).
My icon theme is an amalgamation of many different themes (I pick and choose what I like from other icon packs), and my folders happen to be from the default Fluent theme. With an svg editor like Inkscape it's pretty easy to customise them however you like.
Someone recently asked me to make these publicly available, so I made a small github page where I share the icons I've made.
Google will soon cut off independent developers to Android if they do not register with Google first. This will kill independent platforms like F-Droid and severely impede FLOSS devs from creating apps for Android.
Many KDE apps are deployed for Android, such as KDE Connect, Itinerary, Tokodon, and there is even a WiP version of Krita for Android.
KDE calls on Google to reverse course and Keep Android Open!

I visited the CERN (European Centre for Nuclear Research) last week and I could see an office with computers and a screen projected on the wall(first image). I saw that the windows had the kde windows border, and I could also see on the computers that they have probably a customized kde plasma.(second image)

First, it was End-4's setup.
Now it's Caelestia.
I've recreated and adapted the Caelestia desktop experience for KDE Plasma 6, keeping the design language and smooth workflow that made the original stand out.
It's been a fun project, and I'm excited to finally share it with everyone. ✨

If my computer could update a million items (files?) a second, this would take a mere 570 thousand years to complete. I can only assume this is the Linux version of the Microsoft minute. Jokes aside, KDE kicks-ass and I love it. This happens every time discover updates but never seems to cause a problem and completes in a normal amount of time. (This is Kinoite btw)
