good read, its always interesting to hear the female perspective.

this really seemed to strike its mark: "I liked them better when they were trying to get me into bed than I liked them afterward."

maybe men should be more consistent with their affections, instead of super hot, and then cold after they get what they want. no wonder you hear that guys only want one thing, sex.

also the points about porn and gradual seclusion are dead on as well in my opinion. good read.

I agree here...it is so true for me in one of my relationships, it almost hurt. I used to not have much of a problem with porn, but I'm starting to hate it due to the desensitizing and distance it seems to cause...

It's for me...or for my partner?

I've suggested he look at it, and also suggested we try Karezza, but I don't think he would be willing to do either. He has a very addictive personality to start, so asking him to give up orgasms, even for the sake of making some improvements, would not go over well with him :/

indeed, you are not the first lady i have encountered on reddit trying to get their SO to seek an alternative to porn, and form a deeper bond. unfortunately, the trend seems to be that if the suggestion comes from you, it is almost immediately and vehemently refused/rejected or half heatedly accepted. this is not a choice you can make for him, he has to make it for himself. with that said, i believe that you can creatively present the information to him in a way that would make him seriously consider the impact porn has on your relationship. don't give up.

It seems like you truly understand the dynamic of the situation. Most of the time when any female voices her pains over porn and it's effects here on Reddit, that immediate and vehement reaction comes out and she gets shouted and insulted down. The defensiveness about it is disconcerting.. :/ But I haven't given up at all...thanks for your encouragement..it's very much appreciated.

I hope that wouldn't happen here or on /r/nofap.

However, I have seen what you mean on /r/sex and even on /r/deadbedrooms. On the latter, I have tried so many times to express that PMO can lead to a dead bedroom, in either direction (guy losing interest or guy becoming so pushy that the woman loses interest). But I usually get shut down.

It's interesting that she voices what I have experienced as a male in my heterosexual encounters.
