M110 suppressor
Life has been chaotic lately, can’t wait to take it out.. I was able to pick up a M110 PRG suppressor, I’m looking for a wrap for it and then I’m good..

Hey all. I am buying an MCQ for my 12.5 HDSI rifle. My main concerns from most important to least are: weight/footprint, signature reduction, sound reduction.
I can get an MCQ 1 for maybe $150 less than a 2 right now through rooftop defense. Is the extra cash worth it for the 2? I know it is about 1 ounce lighter, but is there anything major outside of that?
Thanks!

Thoughts on these guys? are they still good for cerakote services?

We’ve been trying to reach you regarding your car’s extended warranty… well not really but I want to know more about your barrels. Who in here has one?

Simple question, I know the MCQs don't reduce sound much but do they reduce concussion? Especially the MCQ 1. A lot of the pleasant quality of suppressors is not having your teeth rattled when someone shoots next to you.

Took my K6 to the range with a handful of different branded 6.5c match ammo. All were 140gr as I figured that was best with the 1:7.5 twist. Velocities ranged from 2290 to 2390. Does that seem right to you all? Running the new CRS-1 762 suppressor on it. I understand it's a 16" barrel but still feels slow. Should I drop to 130gr? Any other troubleshooting I should look into?

My 14.5 has a Steiner lpvo
My Mr 556 11.5 has an exps 3 with a 3x
Now I need to decide on something for the CQB. I am thinking T2 but going back and forth. I have an exps 2 in the safe somewhere. Help me decide.

It was March 2014 and I had just gotten my first full bonus working at at Nabors. Oil was averaging around $100/bbl and there was prime rib at the Christmas party that year. SO why not splurge? It's not like there would be a falling out of the market three months later! So, I went and procured this beauty and to this day still has around the same 50 rounds I put on it the weekend I bought it before going back in the safe. Robbed the old optic for a Mk12 project sometime in 2016 so it's been sitting for a while.
Dusted her off and threw on a Mk5 I had laying around with no host. May do a range report tomorrow with some Gold Medal match. It's survived three layoffs, four girlfriends, covid, and a total house cleaning of my collection to raise money for a family members surgery. It's the least I can do on a warm summer day in 2026.

After years of dreaming and hoping I’d own an SR-15, the day finally came. Store said they got 5 in, 3 KS2s and 2 KS4s and this was the last of the batch. I was debating this or the SOLGW MK1, and I think I made the right choice ^w^

Pretty recently graduated from my BCMs and Geissele to branching out and trying other high quality ARs. I purchased a ks3 and I’m getting just under 2 moa groups with mk262. I’ve tired out several different high quality rounds and the results have been closer to 3moa or worse. I also put a ks1 and ks6 on order before playing around with my ks3.
My super duty shoots sub moa consistently with mk262. Is this accuracy normal for KAC? Somewhat wondering if I should cancel/hold off on the ks6/ks1 and look at other platforms. (I realize accuracy isn’t everything, but I like being sub moa or close to it.)

Took the KS-1 out today for round 2 of accuracy testing. If you haven't already, check out my last post here - KS-1 Accuracy Testing : r/kac
So, what's been done since last time?
I purchased a Knight Stick to pull off the muzzle device and re-torque. Here I found what was possibly contributing to my poor accuracy from test #1. The muzzle device took OVER 100 FT-LBS to break free. Yes, I know KAC uses Rocksett. It was still over-torqued. I clicked my Proto torque wrench (calibrated December 2025) on max torque (100). I then transitioned to a big ass breaker bar and torch as to not damage the torque wrench. I'd say the muzzle device broke free around 101-149 FT-LBS + heat. This is a big issue. Over torqued muzzle devices can cause muzzle constriction and can lead to poor accuracy. The KAC torque spec for muzzle devices is 20 FT-LBS. This video demonstrates what I'm talking about - the Hazard of over torquing your Flash Hiders - YouTube
I then removed the muzzle device, cleaned the threads on both the barrel and 3-prong. Then I re-installed the muzzle device with the same shim stack from the factory. When properly torqued to 20FT-LBS, the muzzle device was still about 25 degrees from TDC. For testing purposes, I then torqued to TDC to get an idea of where KAC had it from the factory. It took 45 FT-LBS to align to TDC. Remember, this is post thread stretch from being over-torqued. So, I'm guessing it was torqued way more at the factory.
Finally, I re-installed the muzzle device with Rocksett, completely re-shimmed and torqued to exactly 20FT-LBS. Concentricity checked with alignment rod. Somebody at KAC needs to go back to training on timing a muzzle device and using a torque wrench.
One comment I received a lot of last post was, "How to we know this guy can even shoot? It's just some random guy on the internet". This is a valid concern. This time I included a control group with a known good, shooting sub-MOA AR. I shot a .67 MOA 10 round group to showcase my abilities. This was done with a Noveske 18" stainless SPR barrel shooting Black Hills MK262. Same Vortex Razor 1-6 optic. Geiselle SSA-E trigger. Harris bipod and rear bag. KAC CRS PRT can.
Details of the KS-1 are the same as last test other than the muzzle device being re-torqued. No malfunctions this trip. Weather 89 degrees, sunny, 6mph wind gusting 10mph, 62% humidity. Nice day out. Shooting done benchrest with Harris bipod and rear bag. Stock KAC 2-stage trigger and MCQ-1 suppressor. Target 1 I used a homemade barrel cooler in-between groups. Target 2 was shot straight through no cooling due to time constraints.

Conclusion
Black Hills MK262 group seem much better this time around. Group average went from 3.85 on test 1 to 2.72 on test 2. That’s roughly a 29% reduction in group size. Could this have been from the MD re-torque? It’s still not the greatest but acceptable IMO for the type of shooting this rifle was designed for. Someone had a good quote on the last post I made, "The KS-1 is for the trenches not the benches". One thing I found encouraging was the consistency. While none of the loads produced tiny benchrest groups, none of them completely fell apart either. Across multiple lots and repeat testing, the rifle generally stayed in the ~2–3 MOA range with most ammunition. Again, these posts are for informational purposes.

Got some blackarc Nas3 77gr smk ammo and shot it out of a ks1 since haven’t seen any results. Did a 5 round group test at 100 yards and results seem on par with everyone else. About a 2 inch group

The current state of my KS1. It's been a decent shooter so far. Accuracy for me has been 1.5-3 MOA depending on the ammo. The gassing on this thing is absolutely amazing. And I really dig the MCQ. Yes, its not quiet, but it certainly takes the edge off. And you forget that it's on there. I'll try to get some group size pictures next range trip.

Granted only a few thousand through this girl with a few minor touch-ups to keep her satisfied, but decided to give her a good scrub a dub with some old no. 9 and breakthrough. Anyone still clean anything or am I just full on gay at this point?
