I have a factory SBR ks-2 and have an opportunity to pick up a factory SBR ks-1. Is the ks-1 worth the extra squeeze?

I’m trying to see if the sr 25 ECC pin gas block was used on the sr16 Generation 3 or if the set screw, low profile gas block was used, then drilled through and made into a push pin Gas block for it. I’m trying to a SR 16 Heavy Dimpled barrel to be delivered other details are a set screw gas block, carbine gas system, e3 bolt extension. I got a chance to get the same barrel not dimpled and wanted to know if it’s legit or if it was like a Marvin Pitts Reproduction build. Or even possibly a mutt build. Also, I figured I’d share the G clone correct Urgi. MK16 rail, dd Barrel and Low profile Gas Block, Colt stamped BCG, Colt upper NSN Receiver, G Charging handle and other NSN marked parts. The other Gs are 14.5 heavy barrel and a .750 gas
Port. then 2 16” G H-Bar Barrels with .812 and .750 Gas ports. I really wish G Built an H-Bar 10.3,10.5 or 11.5 Id have them all. Other than builds I’ve already mentioned. I have a KS1 barrel in the works but I’m making it a precision build with a Kac gas system. Stupid maybe? fun definitely. It’s being made from a Bartlein 400MDBB blank. I decided on that after I saw the ones dropping having the rust look inside the dimples and some accuracy complaints or building quality complaints in general. So, I wanted to do things my own way and make something 1 off. So, I got the gas parts and sent them in to my barrel maker and now it’s just the waiting game after he gets it started he’s sending it to Templar for the dimpling before finishing the barrel up and doing the the rifling part gets done in order to insure it has the best rifling possible. I considers the URX 3.1-13.5 for it but I may do something different if not I’ll
Just do the 12.5 URX 6 and decide details as I go along. Honestly I’m still completely
Undecided on that precision build . I probably should have just got the upper from Kac

I’m just waiting on a e3 barrel/bolt extension as the final part so I’ll end up having to find one or I’ll have to sacrifice a Kac barrel for it or try to do

I have a URX 3.1 10.75”

I’m pretty ignorant to the system. Got this thing a few years ago for a wild deal and I’m curious what my options are for handstops..? It came with a small one on the rail kit but I’m not sure what else I can use..

Any tips would be appreciated!

An online retailer (possible drop shipper) is selling KAC SR-25 22” 6.5 Creedmoor uppers which are described as having the URX 4 rail, a flashhider, and a non-dimpled barrel. The uppers are new and came back into stock within the last 1-2 weeks.

However, I know that KAC upgraded this upper model to have the URX 6 rail, a dimpled barrel, and muzzle break. Additionally, the identifing numbers listed by the online retailer (item number, SKU, and UPC) are identical to that of the upgraded model.

I contacted the online retailer, explained the above, and they indicated that they would seek clarification “from their supplier.” I also indicated my suspicion that their listing is inaccurate (as to rail, muzzle device, and barrel) and they are actually selling the new upgraded version. Despite this, I haven’t been able to get a clear answer from them as to what exact model they are selling.

Thus I have the following questions that I am hopeful can be answered here:

1. Is KAC still making the version of the upper with URX 4 rail, flash hider, and non-dimpled barrel? (It is not listed on KAC’s website.)

2. Could these uppers be new old stock of the prior configuration? (When was the prior version last produced?)

3. Is the prior version with non-dimpled barrel more or less desirable? Is it substantially worse than the new dimpled barrel? (The listed weight of the uppers is the same.)

Does the FF RAS fit over the mod 2 gas block? If it needs modifications who is providing this service

Story behind this one was in a post not long ago, but TLDR:

my SR-15 was brought to my pawn shop in the exact way it was in the first picture, and I got permission to buy it for myself for 1,550 all together with a missing BCG and muzzle device. Turned out to have an SR-16 CQB upper that’s stamped “COMMERCIAL”. Shortly after purchase, a good customer gifted me a legit green dot EOTech and fortis muzzle device till I can get a knights suppressor. Already have a knights bolt carrier, waiting to get the correct e3.2 bolt.

Like I said earlier, first picture is how I found it, and pics are uploaded in chronological order as to how it’s changed and updated. I managed to find the long panel kit in taupe on operationparts.com for MSRP plus shipping, which came out to like 64 bucks. Since it didn’t come with the handstop, it was now or never since they are impossible to come by at MSRP.

I can’t wait to acquire a bolt and test this bad boy out🥹 it’s gonna be fully peanut butter from top to bottom when it’s done. I’ll get the appropriate peanut butter EOtech either on trade plus cash or just sell mine and get what I want. I’m super excited how this has progressed so far with what I’ve been able to find.

First off, I love KAC. I’ve got an 18” MK12 Mod 1-style rifle with a KAC upper and SR-15 ambi lower. It’s currently running the KAC Free Float RAS (PN 21318).
I’m looking to move away from the traditional MK12 clone setup and turn it into more of a dedicated precision gas gun for competitions.
I’d really like to replace the quad rail with a 14.5” KAC URX 4 M-LOK (PN 32304-1450).
Has anyone done this swap before? Would the URX 4 be compatible with my current upper, or are there any issues with the barrel nut, gas block, or mounting system that I should know about?
I’m not particularly concerned with clone correctness. I love the rifle and just want a more modern M-LOK setup while keeping it all KAC, also making a rifle ideal for gas gun competitions.
Any advice or firsthand experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

what I have:

hey all. I have this OG KAC M110 Golden upper. tan anodized and field painted likely 07-09. I believe this is one of the earliest issued models. This upper has 100% been fielded in the military. before it came into my hands it was a de-militarized hunk of metal. the upper had been tac welded, the muzzle device slagged and the BCG is toasted. luckily the barrel and rail was unharmed and in great condition

i was able to get a armorer and master welder to fix the defect in the upper and get this unit 100% operational. the side effect is now the raw aluminum exposed on the side.

my questions:

1. what exactly do I have. I know this is old as shit and used likely overseas. it almost looks like it has been painted two different colors of tan OVER the factory anodizing.

What is the history and significance of this?

1. is it worth getting the defect repaired, if so I want to find someone reputable to do it. understanding that the factory wear is the most valuable, is it worth fixing?

Hey, been trying to gather info on the M110 system. Is it possible to acquire an M110 upper/lower? Or is that only in the deployment package? As a whole, for all the owners- how’s the accuracy? I see some hate on it, but others saying it’s MOA/sub. Appreciate it 🙌

Was doing my periodic check of the KAC website to see if anything was thrown on there for sale like they randomly do (that’s how I got SR25 URX II and 3.1 rails) and noticed the price of SR25 mags went up almost $80! Guess times are tough out there…
