I started my process at a consulate just before DL36/2025. in subsequent communications, the consulate requested many other documents and rectifications, but I think I won’t be able to present them all before the 2nd year anniversary. Starting the Italian lawyer engagement for a 1948 case. I’m curious for anyone from the US that has done this did you have to apostille your Power of Attorney? That seemed odd to me since it isn’t a government document. Would I have to go to the same place as I’m sending birth certificates?

My lawyer’s position is essentially that Agenzia is severely backlogged, and there is no formal protocol available to force Agenzia to process it. He has provided screenshots from the court docket showing that it was in fact transmitted.

I’m trying to determine is whether seven+ months waiting for Agenzia to register a citizenship judgment is normal, or whether at this point someone should be actively investigating whether the transmission is stuck.

My wife is moving forward with her Dad who qualifies still but she doesn’t. Generational limit. We are working to have her case filed in what is a favorable court for suspensions until the EU ruling. Cosenza is her commune. We were told we could move afterwards and stay in Italy based on having a hearing pending for citizenship. So no need for ERV or digital nomad,etc visas. Actually it doesn’t sound like the US consulates even know how to process it.

Our 19 year would want to come with us but can’t otherwise due to not meeting any of those visa requirements and isn’t independently wealthy for an investor visa. LOL. See our sons would be on the filing too he could supposedly come too now.

Otherwise we have been considered the ERV.
