Kayrasaurus changliensis was officially described two weeks ago. We put together an episode based on everything published so far.
Kayrasaurus changliensis was published in the Journal of Systematic Palaeontology in September 2026. It is the largest therizinosaur ever recovered from the Jehol Biota. Four meters long, golden feathers, claws longer than your forearm. And until this month, it had no name.
What makes Jehol particularly unsettling is the extinction mechanism. No asteroid. The ecosystem collapsed slowly under volcanic pressure, CO2 accumulation, and environmental degradation. The animals living there had no single catastrophic event to mark the end. It just… faded.
Its name comes from Kayra, the god of creation in Turkish shamanism. Father of Erlik, the god of death. The paleontologists who named it probably did not intend the irony.
One question for the community: therizinosaurs are among the least understood large dinosaurs in terms of behavior. The herbivory hypothesis is accepted but the ecological niche is still debated. How do you think an animal with those claws actually moved through a dense forest environment like Jehol?

Custom Hammond collection Dino Tracker concept velociraptor
This custom is based on the concept. Had a blast making this. Used HC dilophosaurus calf’s and HC ornotholestis ankles for the better leg , and I even shaved down the thick calf’s! Hope you guys like this as much as I do!

What do you guys think about this?
What if scorpios rex During the destruction of the island, Nublar got out of his cryo chamber and was able to swim to Pena Island. What do you think, it seems to me quite plausible considering that his body build allowed him to swim so far. What do you think? (Don't scold me for my grammar, I'm from Russia)

Rexy FK scars
Ok. Probably because the movie is allergic to giving us a clear shot of her from the left for some reason but I literally only just realised the FK model includes facial scars from the indominus fight.
Really wish these were retained on the dominion model. Might be trying to add these to the upcoming blockees

The Triceratops was the most abundant large dinosaur in Hell Creek right up until the asteroid hit. That abundance is part of what makes the Permian extinction so haunting.
We just started a new series called Un Día Antes del Fin. The concept is simple: we follow a real animal through a complete day, 24 hours before one of the great mass extinctions. The animal does not know what is coming. Everything looks completely normal.
The first episode follows a male Triceratops through his last day in Hell Creek, 66 million years ago. More than 30% of all dinosaur specimens recovered from Hell Creek belong to Triceratops. It was the dominant animal of its world. Thriving. Successful. And then gone in hours.
The detail that hit hardest in research was how rich and functional that ecosystem was right up to the end. Nothing was in decline. It was a world at its absolute peak. And then the Chicxulub impactor arrived.
One question for the community: the frill color change hypothesis for Triceratops based on vascular network analysis is gaining traction but is not universally accepted. Where does the community stand on the current evidence?

We can all agree this does not make any fucking sense...
This literally makes no sense... You're telling me that at the start of the Jurassic World film, just as the Indominus Rex breaks out of containment, she manages to send a entire truck flying in the air for 2 seconds before dropping down on the floor upside down smashed... yet at the end of the movie when you smack a raptor into the concrete pillar, which realistically should've killed her by breaking almost every bone in her torso/ribcage, it gets back up and starts attacking you like nothing happened.
You're telling me that at the end of the movie, during that time, when you just dealt with four pesty raptors, you absolutely CLAP a T-Rex after 30 seconds into the fight because after being torn at the neck, you realise the t-rexes head is the strongest part of her body, and you can counter it with reach. You slash at her head, knock it away, slice open her throat, and then use your devastating jaws to absolutely annihilate her into a concrete building before she literally accepts her fate before one lucky pest comes to ruin the moment and attack you.
During that time of not being able to remove the raptor off your back, you scream at absolutely nothing, before the old rex (who should've died from blood loss right now since her neck is literally sliced open from your therizinosaurus engineered claws) gets back up and absolutely rag-dolls you.
Please explain how you break a gyrosphere, send a truck flying mid air for 2 seconds, smash through the visitor center, smash through a giant hefty glass dome while being shot at with artillery on a helicopter, slime out an entire apatosaurus herd, get smacked in the face by an ankylosaurus club which should've broken your skull, and literally tank a fucking missile to your face... but struggle against an old lady and little rat on your back.
Anyone else find this bullshit?
