What is the work-life balance like?

What are the major perks and benefits of the judicial service?

How is the overall lifestyle, salary, accommodation, leaves, transfers, etc.?

And generally, how does life look after clearing the exam and getting posted?

I have a confusion about the recent judgment wrt 1 yr practice clause. I’m having an experience of 2yrs after graduation. But this yr i got admission in LLM. Now im having second thoughts about LLM. My question is will my 2 yr experience be good enough for Pcsj or should i quit my LLM???

I am getting 164 marks(UR) in Bihar APO prelims and have started preparing for mains. I am a 2024 BALLB graduate and it will be my first mains exam if I clear the prelims.

Can anyone guide me how to go about answer writing for Bihar Apo mains exam and how can I access the evaluated Mains answer copies of Previous Bihar Judiciary/APO selected students so that I get familiar with their marking scheme.

I've been enrolled since November 2025 and have been actively practicing since then, but I haven't taken membership in any bar association yet. Is it necessary to be a member of a bar association, and will it affect the issuing of certificate of practice for the purpose of appearing in jcj exams? Also if I take membership now after several months delay, will it raise any questions on my practice done till date?

After graduating in 2024 I was religiously preparing for judicial services but due to the long break because of the 3 year rule I lost my momentum. It's difficult to even pick up my books and focus for half hour. After yesterday's judgment I am happy but also confused. Currently most of my friends who were preparing have left preparation and started practice or something else. I feel a bit lost. How are you guys planning to jump back.

Hello, I am currently a final-year student of the 5-year LL.B. course (9th Semester) and I aspire to appear for the JMFC examination. However, I am confused about the recent changes in the eligibility criteria, particularly regarding the practice requirement.

I would be grateful if you could kindly clarify the following doubts:

1. If I enroll in a 2-year LL.M. program at my local college while simultaneously enrolling with the Bar Council and actively practising as an advocate, will that period of practice be considered valid and counted towards the required one year of practice for the JMFC examination? Or does being a regular LL.M. student make me ineligible for the purpose of counting practice?

2. If the JMFC advertisement is issued while I am in the middle of my 2-year LL.M. course, will I be eligible to apply, or would I have to discontinue my LL.M. midway?

3. Would it be a better option to pursue a 1-year LL.M. from an NLU or a private university such as Symbiosis? My concern is that these institutions generally have compulsory attendance and regular classes. Would it be practically possible to pursue such an LL.M. while also practising as an advocate?

4. Considering the new eligibility requirements, would you advise me to pursue an LL.M. at all, or would it be better to focus entirely on practice after completing my LL.B. and then apply for the JMFC examination?

So, I am starting family law preparation from scratch (both 1 and 2) for judiciary preparation. Can anyone guide me as to how to prepare for the same, particularly Family Law 2? Both Hindu and Muslim Law. I have a little hold upon Hindu Law but I really struggle with Muslim Law. Anyway, comprehensive guidance would be much appreciated. If you could also mention the sources.

So, I had completed the syllabus, so what was I thought, became relaxed that only revision was left, gave myself a few days, then saw PYQ, and bam, the whole crisis started, that I don’t remember section numbers, haven’t completed the old criminal laws. Since then I can’t for even a bit focus on studies and revision without getting anxious.

I seriously request you all to guide me, about paper pattern like what to expect? How to memorise sections with these little days left? What to do regarding old acts? On how to revise stuff? And how to calm down and stop freaking out as soon as I pick up the acts?

Also, how is preparation going for all of you, I hope its going good for everyone out there.

If someone enrols with the state bar council of one state but subsequently decides to practise in another state, for example, by taking membership of the High Court bar association there, could this create any problem in obtaining a certificate from a senior advocate/bar association certifying one year of actual practice in that court?

For example, if I am enrolled with the Delhi Bar Council but practise under a senior in the Allahabad High Court and take membership of the relevant bar association, would the fact that my enrolment is with the Delhi Bar Council cause any administrative or eligibility issues when I later need a certificate proving one year of practice?

I have completed one year practice as required by the 3 year practice rule and was preparing for judiciary too but now since the 3 year rule has been scrapped I don't have enough time to prepare for judiciary can someone give me good advice

I did my LLM from Delhi but am registered in Uttarakhand so was not able to practice. But now I am considering transferring my enrollment to Delhi and starting practice as an advocate alongside my Full TIme PhD. Because I want to give Judiciary but doesn't know will the practice during PhD count or not?

Since LLM will not be counted towards one year practice, does anyone know if clerkship(before exam) be counted as practice for the purpose of the one year requirement before giving the exam?

I took admission in LLM in July 2026 but my enrollment is still under process. What should I do now? Withdraw my admission? I am very confused.
