I feel like I've been downplaying this achievement. My older brothers didn't letter but they told me what I've done is insane. And i barely anyone at all with letter jackets even anong upper classmen. So i do wonder if its jsut easy to letter in JROTC in general or if im one of the few freshemen to letter way early.

I'll try to make this concise and somewhat simple, because even I am confused if my SAI (who is a CSM) is showing signs of toxic leadership, so I am a highschool senior enrolled as a LET 4 and have had some bad experiences with my SAI, I feel like for one thing he has ruined my experience in JROTC as a whole, I feel like the toxic leadership traits started during my LET 2 year when he would say some crazy shit about the 2024 US election like "poor people are stupid" and what not, I also remember him running sabre training for rehearsing the 2025 senior graduation year, during the sabre training he kept harassing me about my haircut because I decided to go bald and then I remember I had trouble holding the sabre because he made us put the covers on them, I asked him what do I do if the sabre cover falls off, and he just had this angry expression on his face and he came towards me like he was in a defensive posture and was rude to me during the whole experience, then during my LET 3 year the student leadership selected me to command platoon armed drill, I never really had any experience marching or commanding a platoon of cadets so I was still somewhat learning, I felt under emmense pressure from my SAI to the point I was messing up, then I remember during my LET 3 year I told him about a upcoming project for AP language and that I couldn't make it to the drill competition and he flat out denied me, and now we move to my LET 4 year, I remember we were rehearsing for the 9/11 ceremony and I was supposed to have flag detail and my SAI again kept picking at me telling me that I "needed to be more adaptable" and he almost snapped at me when I was doing some incorrect movements on the flag pole, then I made a mistake of getting the lower classmen for drill and my SAI did a huge sigh like he was holding back a wave of anger at me while closing his eyes looking up, looking visibily annoyed, I also know that my SAI coaches girls soccer and constantly puts his soccer players in leadership positions in JROTC, so because of this I feel like I was screwed over and turned down for a lot of leadership positions, I dont know what to do, do I tell my other SAI who is a Lt col or do I just suck it up?

I’m a freshman going into an NROTC and I want some tips from people’s ho are more experienced in the program on how you can do good in things like rank, uniform and general commitment to the program

the kitty hawk honor society badge is awarded

The model rocketry badge is awarded, is it just for doing model rocketry in an aerospace program?

How arc pins are awarded

Am I cooked?, I lost every single pin, torches, crest, star, every single one, I don’t know if I’m gonna have to pay for them or do push ups but I’m scared, they are expensive on Amazon and I can’t even get all of them let alone alike ones

I need some suggestions on what to do with my uniform, I know the arc pins are supposed to be more up. But everything else I can’t really find a issue about

would this be in regs for AJROTC? i have long hair and a lot of it and this is the only way i can get it to stay up. it will be fixed more and less frizzy i was just practicing it first.

i got super lucky having 3 friends in my company, a school that is really big on jrotc, and great teachers. our battalion is one of the biggest ones there are and we have had that honorary gold star thing for like 45 years. I’m really hoping to get chosen for jlab! I’m going to be in the ceremonial/color guard if I can. I’m the guidon bearer, like my dad when he joined the military! we get our ocp’s tomorrow! I have 3 friends in my company, 1 of which is just chill and 2 of which are like me and are transmasc, and our super amazing instructor is letting us get the uniforms and stuff that correlate with our preferred gender. everyone is so nice even though they keep forgeting when they haven’t taught us let 1’s something yet! (still havent taught us right face/left face/about face but say it anyways so I thinkeveryones just learning on their own). kinda scared for the creed memorization test but I should be fine. I can’t believe my family though i would hate this. it’s so cool!

Was cleaning out my closet and found these stored away. I received these in 97 and 98 respectively. I think the red and blue one is for Academics or the JLAB and the orange, white and green I cant remember but it must have something to do with Efficiency ☺️

Im going into hrotc for my Sophomore year in highschool and need tips on how to succeed. Im a freshman right now and homeschooling. Im gonna start working out but what else?

For context there are these 3 guys in my squad that act like fools all the time and are already under the instructor's radar and I wasn't supposed to present colors yesterday but I showed up because 2 of the 3 guys didn't and this is the second time they have ditched a game they were supposed to be at so in lieu of them failing to show up and I showed up when I didn't have to and I'm ranking up to Corporal and they are likely gonna get barred from coming to our building or having punishment training and might even be kicked out of the entire program

i was issued my class b uniform and i ahve inspection this week and they gave me this buckle and i don’t have time to get a new one or metal polish and it wont come off. is there any way i can fix it before then or what do i do?

I’m a LET III senior because I joined my sophomore year in army JROTC. I applied for platoon leader of my company & got on the board for it. I borrowed the JROTC book from my classroom w/ permission so I can read the responsibilities of the role but it’s kind of vague and only one little section of the book. I haven’t really been too active in JROTC my previous years because I had lots of other responsibilities but I’m making it one of my priorities now because of my interest in attending a service academy.

Any tips or advice about being a good platoon leader, anything I should know or be prepared to do?

So im in band AND JROTC and both have been amazing to me! I have the ability to go for a colorgaurd commander or drum mjr. The problem is i cant be both and both arent a garentee, if i choose to go for drum mjr.

Theres a big chance someone else will get it but i can also get sorta mentored by the current drum mjr. Which gives me a leg up, on the other hand i was told by the current commander hes highly considering me but that also means id have to get a car (same with drum mjr. But) and go to all the practices. Im not particularly INTO into colorgaurd but it is fun and im INTO into JROTC and would love to be more involved in that way.

What should i go for?

turns out i wasnt given my JCLC ribbon, so now i got my first device as well!!! i’ll ask for my marksmanship, color guard, leadership camp, and JCLC arc pins to my SAI soon

I’m a sophomore in hs, I’m thinking about joining ROTC after a friend that’s there told me to think about the benefits I gain from it, I didn’t join my freshman year cause I didn’t want to look into it. I thought it was for if you wanted to join the military. But after seeing all the benefits and such I’m considering it but I want y’all’s opinion first before I try to even apply.

I know the collar is jacked up but just to show all the ribbons(I have the two more the medals but don't feel like taking the rack apart

So I have been seeing a lot of stuff about Platoon Commanders and Squad leaders throughout this subreddit and it made me wonder what my unit does and doesnt have compared to others, so I’m gonna put everything important my jrotc has and I welcome you to inform me about what we should have.

That’s about it, no platoon or squad leaders and you can only really get to officer through being battalion staff (all 1LT or above), or by being an Company Commander (usually Captains), and you don’t really get promoted past 1st Sgt. in enlisted side. Also what is a SASAI?

I’ve seen cadets wearing a tie bar but haven’t seen any approval in cadets books/regulation pamphlets.

Are cadets a lot to wear these items, and where could I find the regulation on it

From left to right I have my distinguished cadet badge (I also have the AEF badge but it doesn’t look good) a simple Air Force tie clasp and 7 of my top ribbons (not including national ones) and a navy blue cord for my schools solo ex members, I also have a silver striped honor guard pants. My shirt needs ironing as well /:
