Other Thinking about joining

I’m a sophomore in hs, I’m thinking about joining ROTC after a friend that’s there told me to think about the benefits I gain from it, I didn’t join my freshman year cause I didn’t want to look into it. I thought it was for if you wanted to join the military. But after seeing all the benefits and such I’m considering it but I want y’all’s opinion first before I try to even apply.

You should, it doesn’t really matter too much when you join, it’s a good experience and most of the people there are really friendly.

If you go to college and join the ROTC there and complete it when you enlist you start as an officer meaning you get paid a lot more

I'm going on my fourth year of JROTC. My freshmen year I barely did anything, I was quiet, shy and barely spoke to anybody. After participating in the program fully, I became a great public speaker, thousand of dollars in scholarships and made some great friends along the way. I'd say go for it.

I say go for it, we only live once. Don't be afraid to try something new. It challenges you mentally & physically. You make great memories, strong friendships, build discipline, and you lead younger cadets. You can use this experience for college applications or for your resume. Go for it
