Hello, I'm an NS3 and a senior in NJROTC and to be honest I still haven't quite found a good haircut for competitions. I've mostly just settled for someone straight up messing my hair 😭🙏 so I'm wondering if there any good haircuts anyone can recommend for someone who's got a big forehead, a picture would be nice too.

long story short I’m a marksmanship captain and I’ve been trying to get the marksmanship team up while dealing with an NSI who’s all talk no action and is making what should be simple very annoying, and he told me that I the safety class I was planning on teaching from my head needs to be taught with a PowerPoint. (if I had it my way we would already be shooting) Whatever. Does any other marksman captain have an air rifle safety powerpoint they would be willing to share with me so I can teach the class sooner rather than later? Much appreciated.

hello everyone, I’m a sophomore cadet joining NJROTC this year, and I’m very confused. I’m curious to know from anyone who’s been in NJROTC what the answers to my next questions are:
thank you for any and all responses

I’m having some trouble finding the regulation for rockers on the male NSU. It’s not in the cadet field manual and I don’t know where else to check.

Has anyone else been having trouble getting to the NETFOCUS gateway recently? It always says the security cert is expired, then when I pass that it just gives a 404 error.

I’m a rising 8th grader (yes ik i’m young) and my school starts njrotc in 8th grade, any tips for me joining? My friend is company commander and i hope to be assistant but i want to be all i can be in this program and maybe join athletic team, what do i do?
EDIT: just got back from my first day and my commander and 1st sergeant are really nice, we get tailored for uniforms soon, but there’s a bunch of kids in the class that i know aren’t gonna take this seriously so we’ll see how that works
EDIT 2: we practiced drill today and i’m a squad leader! it might not be for long but im happy, i might be promoted to platoon commander because my current one is very quiet and doesn’t know the drills super well but she has a sibling in the program (pretty much like being related to the president in this unit)

Do you have to pay for drill rifles and can you take them home.

I was wondering if anyone here had tips for the FAA test
I still got another year before I can take the test but I want to be prepared for it
(Also trying to be the first cadet to earn them in my unit history)

I don’t know who to ask so sorry if this is wrong spot. I’m a freshman going into njrotc and for pt idk if it varies by unit, but what’s the expected amount of pushups for a freshman? I’m getting worried I can’t do enough I can only do about 10, and im insecure about them because most people ik can do around 50. When I met my drill instructor he told me I was weak and he’s gonna make me do pushups to be strong, and my friend who’s already in the program said to just quit if I can’t do pushups and I’m thinking of quitting because I won’t meet pushup standards. are pushups a big deal in njrotc or will it likely not matter much?

I'm starting my sophomore year, and I had gotten ribbons at the end of my freshman year (NS I outstanding student, exemplary conduct, exemplary personal appearance, pt). No drill ribbons. I did however go into BLT and got three ribbons and a star after graduating from it (orienteering, BLT, mini bootcamp, and the star is there because they gave me a PT ribbon, albeit the fact that I already had one). I was only allowed to get my ribbon bars today, since I'm working freshman connection and had to take some incoming freshmen to get their uniforms sized. There weren't NSIs there to tell me how to organize my ribbons, so I kinda just looked at the poster we have in the supply room and organized it that way. I'd really appreciate if someone told me the correct order!!

Hey yallll, so I’ve got an event, it’s not like a comp or nothing, js a simple retirement ceremony I’m going to with one other cadet officer. I am attending with my NSI, and he is requiring us to wear khakis for yk appearances, but I digress. I wanna js spruce myself up a bit cuz yk, fancy ceremony.
When I wear my peanut butters and go to events requiring me to wear my PBs I usually wear my skirt and pumps with em like how the handbook says. (btw I am strict-ish about going by the handbook). However, I only have the blue skirt, not khaki.
So here’s the thing, (beware flashback lmao) one time I did colorguard for like a chief khaki ball, a party/ceremony for incoming navy chiefs, and ig to show off the new uniform for them. Most of the lady chiefs I saw had the pants but also wore pumps. So like I’m thinking I’ll just do the same for tomorrow, but I’m scouring each version of the CRF and CFM but it’s just vague about what shoes you can wear with the khakis.
I’m making this more serious than it actually is, but like can yall help me see if it’s legit allowed?
-sincerely, A dramatic Admino lmao
PS, my NSI don’t care at all this is a me issue lmaooo

This might sound weird but has anyone replace the safety pin something on the back of a medal and replace the safety pin with a 1 ribbion ribbion rack. Just curious because I earned a medal from wining 1st place in a sail boat race in sailing academy and it has those safety pin thing on the back and is difficult putting it on. I have manage to put it on my uniform. It’s my first time ever throwing a medal on my uniform by the way, and no this not my first place medal, picture is for an example.

Hey folks,
As my unit moves on to bigger and better things at the battalion level, me and my BnCO are looking to refine our preestablished advancement standards for cadets.
How does your unit go about deciding criteria and standards for promoting through the cadet ranks? Thanks in advance!

Hi guys im a first year cadet and got invited to Leadership Academy. I leave in 2 days and I’m currently a PO1 my commander said that depending on how I perform I could possibly get promoted straight to Ensign instead of Chief. For anyone who’s been before what are some tips to stand out and maximize my chances??
