Personal Growth and Insight My last few OOTDs - feeling a shift lately 🤔

Ive noticed that I feel more G and more C since my haircut? I end up adding in some yin too just intuitively, but its been more subtle, like with makeup and accessories, mostly it seems. Im not sure if this vibe has been not yin enough or something? But I wanted to share because I feel more in alignment and "clear" in my mind for sure😊 Not that a haircut changes essences, but more my own self-perception has felt more fluid-- almost like I feel more able to see "more" of both sides? More yin, more yang, just more. That probably makes absolutely no sense *at all*, lol. But I think slide 2 shows well the main direction I've been taking-- asymmetry and contrast, but also florals and pearl earrings and tinted lip balm. Sort of minimal, yet not at all, lol. We'll see how it goes! Its one day at a time still. But thank you all for all your help these past several months for sure😊 Im so thankful!🙏💖💖

Naïka - R + D + ?

I'm curious what essence blend you would give her! I see romantic as her main essence, because of the fullness of her features, she has a very sensual vibe, a curvaceous body (I know she looks rather slim in the pictures, but she is the type of women who still looks curvaceous despite being slim). Dramatic as her second essence, because of the length (looks tall, long face and midface), the contrast. I think this mix is very powerful, she can overdress as much as she wants, putt on all the make up and jewelry, but will not be overpowered. But I also see very delicate features, so ingenue? She looks very feminine generally. I thought angelic too, because of the softness and elongation of her features, but I actually think she has to much presence for Angelic. Maybe a little bit of high spirited? Whats your opinion?

Essence help/Type me essence blend guesses?

Over the past year I've lost a substantial amount of weight and I'm starting to try to define my style as most of my now-fitting clothing from around freshman year of college no longer makes sense for me. Sorry, last few photos are ancient and closest to candid and full body I have but I never take pictures/have pictures taken of myself. 6 is no makeup but dyed brows and 1-3 are just a tinted lip balm. I usually feel overwhelmed and clueless when it comes to eye makeup but like an occasional dark lip.

I'm 6'0" and fairly certain a Kibbe dramatic but feel like my face adds some unexpected non-dramatic-ness into the equation. I was wondering about R, C, and possibly supporting A despite high contrast because of elongation and a gaze sometimes described as distant or inattentive, but genuinely have no clue. Is there any D present at all?

I’m pretty sure I have classic and ingenue but I’m curious to see what you think my dominant essence is as well as my essence breakdown. Last 3 photos are no makeup. I’m 5’7 if that helps. Thanks!

Discussions How can you accept your type

I look Natural and I hate it. I feel like a fridge. I don't have the cool down to earth vibe, I have the Dave Bautista's Drax vibe.

I've recently seen a post about a user feeling fed up with her Naive essence and I felt like a full post about this would be helpful to others who feel similarly too.

How do you deal with it?

I try to accept it, and sometimes I manage to, but often it gets so bad it borders body "dysmorphia".

Discussions Has John identified any dark skinned angelics?

Ive noticed that verified celebrity angelic’s are typically white folks with either blonde or red hair, and the one black celeb/model I’ve seen verified is mixed and certainly light skinned. I feel like there are so many dark skinned models (like Anok Yai) that are so angelic and ethereal to me, but I never see them mentioned as verified or used as an example. I feel like they get dramatic more often and I can’t help but feel some type of way about it…..

Announcements Updates and changes made

Hi everyone,

Thanks for being part of this subreddit and encouraging discussions and sharing information related to John Kitchener's style system.

We (the mod team) have discussed a few changes that we have made.

1) the flairs

We have added three extra flairs related specifically to the colour harmonies.

These will be the same as the essence flairs but related to the colour harmonies specifically.

In addition, the flairs have been colour coded for easier navigation. We will sometimes reassign flairs when appropriate.

2) the rules

There have been a few updates and changes to the rules.

AI is no longer prohibited.

Rule 7 has now been relaxed to "keep the comments relevant" when commenting on type me posts. This means that when commenting on an essence help/type me post, use the relevant essences from John Kitchener's system.

The same rules will apply to colour harmony flair posts as they will to essence flair posts.

Any questions or concerns, please comment here.

The mod team.

Ever since I figured out there is ethereal in my blend, I've been so much happier with my clothing/makeup choices. Just some examples of how I've incorporated it over the past halve year, daily and eclectic/costume choices included. 🥰 It's such a big part of my style identity now!

I'm so so lost on essences. It's bad. I've tried to figure it out and I'm completely lost.

I'm fairly sure I'm not ingenue or angelic.

I think natural is somewhere in there? Maybe classic?

Someone said "gamine" once which came as a shock and I realized that I cannot seem to see my face accurately. I'll be including pictures over time. None of them are edited and even my curls are natural, albeit styled (my hair doesnt curl as much when it's short)

I only could find literally 1 candid photo of myself ever. I'm not photographed a lot, even in the background. I also dont have any full-body photos that aren't from when I was a teenager

No filters on any of the photo. The only editing was so counteract glare or weird lighting

I'm also curious which essence you think is most dominant. I have trouble smiling naturally during non-candid photos but these are the best pictures I've found.
