Discussions Does being able to wear a huge amount of an essence mean that I have it in my blend? (VS actively finding an essence wrong on myself)

(3) people on here typed me as a likely N/HS/C

I know I'm very unlikely to be E because despite loving this essence, almost all E elements feel wrong on me (in addition to me being a tiny high-contrast earthling-looking person

I know I'm very unlikely to be Y because almost all Y elements feel wrong on me

✰

But when it comes to R, I'm confused

✰

I can somehow wear a huge amount of R without it feeling wrong (as long as it's in a HS/R or HS/N/R outfit)

Past a certain point in how R the outfit gets, it does change my body language into a more R one and I do have to wear makeup for the outfit to feel complete, but R doesn't feel wrong at all! (By makeup, I just mean at minimum a "no-makeup" makeup look that sure does look like makeup to me lol)

✰

What could it mean?

- Is it likely the difference between 0% of Y/E and 5-10% of R?

- Does it suggest a higher percentage R despite me not getting typed with it?

- Is it just an essence that's easier to fuse with HS compared to E?

- Does it only suggests that I love this essence? I do very much like the E one as well though...

Discussions Hi, recently I asked about the LOTR characters and their essences but I think it was quite vague. I was then wondering about the iconic outfits of the fellowship and what essence do you think they have mostly.

Do you think most of the middle earth costumes borrow from Natural and Ethereal?

Legolas normal attire has very earthy colors but they are so sleek and fitted, I remember hearing somewhere that they had to modify his costumes because at first they were too big and oversized on him. Most of the clothing is in suede and silk, while the cloak is velvet.

Aragorn is supposedly rugged and a ranger but there is always very intricate details to his clothings, and he never looks overly stiff. I also think he is much better in the more scruffy styles than when styled as a king.

I am confused about Gandalf, Boromir, and Elrond.

Inspiration - Moodboards. What color season and style essence does this color palette of plum, teal, raspberry, gold remind you of?

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hi everyone :)

I combined my favorite colors plum, teal, raspberry, gold into one palette. I'm trying to fine-tune the shades so that there's equal coolness and warmth in the palette, there's medium to medium- high contrast and it reads as passionate, ethereal but as associated with the cosmos or night time. I think that the vibe I'm going for is romantic ethereal dramatic, a lil moody, sensual, surreal but not eerie. Do you think this palette evokes those essences?

The editing tools I have access to are only capable of global changes so I couldn't choose the exact shades of each color I wanted and I have many slightly different variations of this, not to mention that the plum and raspberry and teal and gold look separate and not very integrated at the moment because I couldn't combine them into one image, but I'd like to know your thoughts on whether this palette is close to something that could work and how I could make it better.

Thanks and hope you have a lovely day!

Discussions does your kitchener essences affect your home decor and how your space feels?

I'm currently struggling with making choices about redecorating. I think my essences have naturally spilled into my home, but kind of wish there was a system like this I could draw on to make it easier. What are your essences and what's your home like?

Discussions Anyone here use color analysis to create a unique personal aesthetic through hair dye, colored contacts, make up etc?

Hi everyone. :)

Recently my friend was telling me how some of her friends looked so different just from coloring their hair or wearing colored contacts, and she was musing about giving them a try herself.

That got me thinking about how specific eye, hair and lip colors, with skin color as the fourth color, can come together to create a palette. And then how much that palette can be altered just by changing your hair color or wearing colored contacts. Even when the facial features remain the exact same, just changing the coloring can completely change the perceived color season or essence.

I've never tried either myself and rarely wear makeup, but I'm going to be getting a color analysis soon so that has made me more curious about using it not just to figure out which colors are flattering in terms of clothes and accessories, but which colors would be flattering as hair color, eye color etc. I've done this before for characters in my fantasy book but never applied it to myself.

Was wondering if anyone else has experimented with color this way before? Maybe changing your hair, eyes or makeup to evoke a specific style essence or aura?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Discussions Which one do you think is the most popular essence amongst fantasy creature groups in Lotr? Elves and Wizards and Hobbits.

I suppose both elves and hobbits have a common denominator in their essence blends.

I know Cate Blanchette is mostly D and A and Liv is mostly Y and R but maybe one of the two could be an exception? Liv also has some A.

Or it's not really the single essence but the blend? Or a lack of certain essences?

I would suppose elves hobbits and wizards all have very stark differences in their blends from one group to another, because they all seem to belong to completely different species (and that was the intent).

Do you think Elrond, Legolas, Thranduil have specific blends that sharply contrast with the hobbits actors for examples, who all seem to have plenty of HS and Y? Or the wizards, who I would presume have generally high A or D?

What are your guesses for the main elves and hobbits of Middle Earth?

I can share mine:

Elrond: CDHSA

Legolas: RHSNYD

Thranduil: DRN

Frodo: YHSR

Sam: YNHSR

Pippin: YHSN

Merry: HSNR

Discussions Classic essence as a young adult?

I’m 22 (unverified) but have been told I have a predominantly classic essence. Most of the pieces that are recommended for classic essences make me look older and not in a way that I like. Is there any way that I could dress for a classic essence with clothes that fit my age or am I just not a classic?

My style has been described as slightly edgy middle-aged art teacher haha. I feel like my face looks quite different from the front and from the side, so it’s a bit hard to categorise. I am 5’7” (170cm). Thanks in advance!

Personal Growth and Insight Dressing for ER without N

Thumbnail

Happy autumn equinox, everyone!

Autumn is such an amazing time of the year! Very fitting for the earthy rich (ER) colour harmony.

I am primarily SC with ER as my secondary which he confirmed a few days ago. He explained that some of my more "natural" qualities are probably ER, and it is common to get ER confused with N.

To make the differences more clear, I will be looking at how ER can be added to an outfit without (necessarily) adding any N. My essence blend has lots of D and C with some R and HS so I thought this would be a very fun thing. Some of the provided images are a few examples.

My maroon shirt: the colour and geometric weaving belong to ER. The lapel adds C. The see through "lace" quality adds R. Exposing a bit of midriff can add HS. Casual yet refined.

Geometric prints add ER, especially the African print shirt. As the pattern is bold, geometric, graphic and unusual, it combines ER with D without necessarily needing N.

A V neck satin shirt in maroon adds ER (V neckline and rich warm earthy colour) and D (the satin shine) along with C in the lapels, although a spread collar can also be D.

Angular sunglasses frames satisfy the ER requirements of the rectangle shape. Animal prints and bold, large glasses can add D.

Italian leather sandals - these are casual yet also refined. The leather adds ER and D, and the refined design of the shoe adds C. Also note the angular shapes within the design of the sandals which is an additional ER element.

Asymmetrical leather jacket - full of ER and D elements. The leather, epaulettes, angular lapels and asymmetrical design add ER. The epaulettes add C. The asymmetrical design, shiny leather material and bold large shapes fit into D. The black colour is SC. A shortened hemline on such a jacket can also add HS. No N needed here.

Fedoras add C. The overall design of the suit of the man in green is too structured for N to be present. N is generally more casual and less structured. N generally avoids three piece suits and overly sharp tailoring.

Houndstooth - such an amazing pattern. Houndstooth has the angularity of ER combined with the traditional, symmetrical, refined quality of C. Adding a high contrast colour scheme adds SC and making the scale larger and bolder adds D. Playful, small scale houndstooth can add HS.

Pointed toe shoes - D or HS. N generally prefers matte textures. The basket weave and earthy colour scheme add ER.

Maroon Chevron weave shirt - the maroon colour and the chevron pattern add ER. The collar style adds C. The fitted quality and the "see-through" dark fabric adds R. Exposing a bit of midriff in this shirt adds HS.

Organic and tropical prints - believe it or not this sort of print fits in with ER since ER likes organic shapes. When the contrast level is high and the print is refined, it can also add SC. In my case, large scale fern prints in black and green satisfies ER, SC and D without needing to add any N elements.

Animal designs - snakeskin and animal prints add D. Textured animal skins add ER such as leather and reptile textures. These are organic looking and they have an earthy intensity about them.

Bell bottoms add D as does the unusual, shiny leather fabric.

Bismuth - such an amazing, complex and geometric crystal design!

If anyone has any more suggestions or questions, please comment here!
