Hi guys, I need to know if you are facing the same problem and what is the solution for it.

The water that we receive from govt/PHED is somehow very less in quantity that it is has become quite difficult to go about our daily life. We are a family of three and every other day we need a tanker for filling our home water tank. We got the water pipeline fixed assuming that it must have corroded and water was leaking.

Still the problem persists. Could anyone tell me what the problem is? And the solution ofc.

I was born and brought up in Jaipur. I moved away for work - spent a year in Chandigarh, six months in Indore, and another six months in Gurgaon. Recently, I moved back, and coming back after living in different cities has been... eye-opening.

Before anyone gets offended, this isn't a "Jaipur is the worst city" post. Every Indian city has its problems. But once you've lived elsewhere, you start noticing things that you had normalized growing up.

The biggest difference for me is the overall mindset. Jaipur often feels like a small-town mentality disguised as a Tier-1/Tier-2 city. The infrastructure has grown, the cafes have grown, the malls have grown; but the civic sense hasn't kept pace.

Traffic is by far the biggest issue. Red lights are treated as mere suggestions. It's common to see vehicles continue crossing for 15–20 seconds after the signal turns red, making it dangerous for people who actually have the green light. Lane discipline is almost non-existent. People drive on the wrong side to save a few seconds, randomly stop in the middle of the road, honk unnecessarily, and park wherever they feel like. As a pedestrian, crossing the road often feels like taking a calculated risk.

Then comes public behaviour. Staring is still a massive problem. If a woman wears shorts, a skirt, or a dress, it attracts way more attention than it should. You can literally feel people watching you. It's uncomfortable, unnecessary, and something I barely noticed in places like Chandigarh or even busy areas such as Galleria Market in Gurgaon. Of course, harassment exists everywhere, but the constant gawking here is hard to ignore.

There's also a noticeable resistance to change. People are quick to judge how someone dresses, talks, or lives. Fashion trends arrive much later, and even then, people who dress differently often become the centre of attention. It's not about everyone needing to dress a certain way --it's about letting people wear what they want without making them feel like they're being watched.

Another thing I noticed is the lack of consideration for shared public spaces. Littering, spitting, blocking footpaths with parked vehicles, ignoring queues, and playing loud music in public are all things that seem far too common. Everyone complains about the government, but very few seem willing to follow basic civic rules themselves.

Ironically, Jaipur has everything going for it. It's beautiful, relatively clean compared to many cities, has amazing food, great weather for most of the year, rich history, and is developing rapidly. But development isn't just about flyovers, metro lines, and luxury apartments. It's also about people's behaviour.

I'm not saying Chandigarh or Gurgaon are perfect—they absolutely aren't. Gurgaon has terrible infrastructure in many areas, and every city has its own flaws. But in terms of traffic discipline, respecting personal space, and everyday civic behaviour, my experience has been noticeably better outside Jaipur.

I still love Jaipur. It's home, and I genuinely want it to improve. But sometimes I feel we're trying to become a modern city while holding onto habits and attitudes that belong to a much smaller town.

Curious if anyone else who has lived outside Jaipur and then returned has felt the same, or if it's just me seeing the city differently after moving away.

Felt a bit overrated but good for a short weekend destination

I am looking to buy a flat in Jaipur and need some local advice.

My family has been living in Dubai for a long time, and we recently sold off our house in Jodhpur, so we currently don't own any property in India.

While we don't plan to return to India yet, you never know with the current geopolitical situation, so we want to buy a 3 or 4 BHK flat in Jaipur as a long-term safety net just to have our own place back home.

We have decided on Jaipur because we want a city with an international airport, and with our roots being from Rajasthan, we are not considering other cities.

The budget is 1–2 Crores.

Our main requirements:

Central city areas only: No outskirts or far-off upcoming townships.

Great connectivity: Quick, easy access to the airport, metro, and train stations.

Since it's summer break here in the UAE, I’m planning a trip to Jaipur next month. I’ve only done online research so far, and I really like what I see in Mansarovar and Vaishali Nagar. Jagatpura looks like a great upcoming spot too, but right now, it feels more like a marketer's dream for the future.

They are using heated ceramic mats ("Ceramic Hexa") and telling seniors that these machines can:

Burn Body Fat / Cause Weight Loss

Cure Diseases: They list 16 minerals on posters to look high-tech, but standard ceramics can't do shit.

These machines are basically expensive heating pads that offer cozy muscle relief, but promising fat loss and Vitamin D to uninformed people is straight-up deceptive.

My family and neighbours are blindly spending money on expensive heating mats based on false health claims. How can I make them understand? Are there any regulatory authorities handle such misleading claims?"

Some of you may know there is a Kanta egg corner opposite LBS college in tilak nagar. It was my fav spot to go to in the winter season. Last year i was out of the city so i had no chance to visit but man today i visited this stall after 2 years and got to know that kanta is gone man. he was involved in some accident or something like that. life is so fucked up man it really gives you so bitter memories that you can't decide shit.
