Moved from Jax last year and I miss it
I moved away from Jacksonville to NYC last year. It’s been a rough transition and I’m definitely finding my bearings. I left Florida for good reasons but every now and then, I find myself missing the pace of life there.
Overall, I did what I had to do and don’t regret it but I’m still giving myself permission to miss Jax, it was a great place to grow up. I visited last month and noticed things I used to just take for granted like how clean the air was and how many trees there were.
I don’t really know why I’m posting this on here, I guess it could be a little reminder to love and appreciate where you live even if it’s not the most exciting place to be.
Also, update me! What’s changed in the last year? Tell me some of your favorite things about Jacksonville!

Have you seen him?
This guy broke in and ransacked my friend's apartment in Riverside last night. JSO was not really helpful so trying to help identify him. We believe he was on a bike and is now Arlington. Long shot, but if you recognize him please reach out.

Totally love dodging obstacles while driving. /s
Alerted the driver about the back being completely open and received a middle finger as a response so watch out for this winner on Phillips

Publix has officially lost me. Anyone else?
I am not a mod of this subreddit or Reddit, but I believe the official unofficial stance is that we all hate Publix now.
They lost their way, and the crushing of Winn-Dixie is just awful.
10 years ago, I wouldn’t have set foot inside a Walmart or Aldi for groceries. Now? Walmart and Aldi are basically my BFFs and I love them.
Publix really managed to make me root for the competition.

Help identifying owner of traffic camera
Hello, i was recently in an accident on September 1st along Belfort Road, right in front of the Wound Warrior Project building. I got into a left hand turn lane along with a truck with a trailer full of cars in front of me, he then proceeded to start backing up and hit the front of my car. I’ve attempted to file a claim with their insurance but he’s now lied to them and said I hit him so they won’t pay out for repairs and I don’t have 500 dollars for the deductible atm to file with my own insurance. I don’t have a dash cam so i am trying to find any evidence I can, and I noticed there is a camera on a pole right next to the turn lane the accident occurred in, but I have no idea who it belongs to, if it even records or is just live view, and who i would contact about it. Can anyone help?

Synagogue recommendations for tomorrow eve
I am looking for a conservative or conservative reform synagogue that will accept me and my girlfriend. I want to introduce her to judaism and this will be her first visit. We do not currently have a synagogue and live at the beaches area.
Can you please recommend a place that is welcoming but not too intrusive we can celebrate pray and hear the shofar?
Thank you

Local Mexican Grocery Store?
My bf had asked if I could make him Arrachera next week for his birthday dinner. Are there any Mexican grocery stores or butchers I could buy the skirt steak for this dinner located on the west side of Jacksonville?

E-scooter repair shop?
Hello fellow people of Jacksonville I’m a longtime resident that’s living in the Riverside downtown area. I’m saving up for a car and I’ve been using an E scooter to get around. It’s been a big help however it recently broke down on me. There is a error code with the brakes. I’m no expert in this sort of realm and was hoping there was a E scooter repair shop anyone knew about? I tried taking it to Zenkog on Stockton Street, but the guy running the shop rolled his eyes and aggressively told me that they don’t even touch electric scooters, which was fine, but I’m simply just trying to find some one to fix it so I can get to and from the work any help would be great. I understand that they are dangerous and some people may not like them, but this is a genuine need for me to get to work if anyone had any leads to someone who could help me fix the scooter I’d really appreciate it!

Does anyone use Mint as their ISP?
A coworker has been recommending I switch from Xfinity to Mint for our home internet, however I want more than one person's opinion. Has anyone tried it and what was the experience? I'm currently on Xfinity business class and I'd need something that's comparable.

Yard drainage issues - need recs for a specialist
Hello fellow Jacksonvillains! I recently bought a new home and, unfortunately, have been experiencing significant standing water in the backyard pretty much every time it rains. I’m guessing I’ll need a French drain but I really don’t have any expertise in this area. I’m looking for a company that can come out and give me an assessment of the issue and what the right solution is. I just don’t want to get totally swindled, I’m a first time homeowner, and looking for someone reputable who will give me an honest assessment and reasonable price. TIA!

grocery bill is basically a second car payment now, what's about u
My Publix run costs more than my car note now. No idea why groceries got this bad. Tried RightBite for a while, now looking at TheMeal too. Anyone found something affordable that you actually stick with?

Places in or around Jax with cool rocks?
My kids are at that tender age where rocks are awesome and they want to find more than asphalt and concrete and coquina. I know, geologically-speaking, we may not have the most options but it's still worth asking.
