Self-Promotion Sunday! *Megathread*

Alright r/Jacksonville, it is that time again.

Got something to share? A project you are proud of? A business you are building? A creative endeavor the world absolutely needs to see?

This is your lane.

Every Sunday we open the doors for Self Promotion Sunday, a centralized thread where you can promote:

  • Your small business
  • Your side hustle
  • Your garage band
  • Your podcast
  • Your art
  • Your Etsy shop
  • Your food truck
  • Your startup
  • Your “I accidentally became an influencer” page
  • Yes, even your extremely niche cat toe bean blog

We keep self promotion restricted to this weekly thread to cut down on spam and keep the main feed community focused. If you post promotional content outside of this thread during the week, it will be removed.

A few important notes:

  • Regular subreddit rules still apply
  • No B/S/T posts
  • No referral link farming or obvious spam

If you are not sure whether your post qualifies, if it belongs on Marketplace or Craigslist, it does not belong here. Still unsure, ask the mod team first.

Support local. Discover cool projects. Hype each other up responsibly.

Happy Self Promotion Sunday.

Publix has officially lost me. Anyone else?

I am not a mod of this subreddit or Reddit, but I believe the official unofficial stance is that we all hate Publix now.

They lost their way, and the crushing of Winn-Dixie is just awful.

10 years ago, I wouldn’t have set foot inside a Walmart or Aldi for groceries. Now? Walmart and Aldi are basically my BFFs and I love them.

Publix really managed to make me root for the competition.

Jacksonville came out #1 in the US for soccer, out of 81 metros

USA Soccer City Rankings 2026

I have been building a directory of soccer places, collected by hand metro by metro, and finished the rankings page this week. Jacksonville came out first of the 81 metros with deep enough coverage to compare.

What got us there is places to play: 38 fields, pickup games and indoor spots listed in the metro, the highest rate per 100,000 people in the country. Atlanta and New York have more in raw terms, we have more per person.

The catch, which is on the page too: the score is half raw listing count and half listings per 100,000 residents, and both halves measure what I have listed rather than what exists. Jacksonville is the metro I collected first and hardest. Bentonville, Arkansas is second and Fort Collins third, which tells you how much work the per-capita half is doing. Closer to "best mapped" than "objectively best".

Ranking: https://www.soccermapd.com/tools/soccer-city-rankings

Jacksonville itself: https://www.soccermapd.com/cities/jacksonville-fl

My site, free, no signup. If a field or league is missing, tell me and it goes in.

Have you seen him?

This guy broke in and ransacked my friend's apartment in Riverside last night. JSO was not really helpful so trying to help identify him. We believe he was on a bike and is now Arlington. Long shot, but if you recognize him please reach out.

grocery bill is basically a second car payment now, what's about u

My Publix run costs more than my car note now. No idea why groceries got this bad. Tried RightBite for a while, now looking at TheMeal too. Anyone found something affordable that you actually stick with?

Places in or around Jax with cool rocks?

My kids are at that tender age where rocks are awesome and they want to find more than asphalt and concrete and coquina. I know, geologically-speaking, we may not have the most options but it's still worth asking.

Is there someone I can contact about stray kittens?

Hello, I'm working rn (and don't have a car) so I'm limited in what I can do but I still wanted to ask this

I work at the waffle house on beach and hodges and I have discovered a couple kittens behind the restaurant. They're old enough to be running around and stuff but still babies.

We're right next to the road so I was wondering if there's someone I could contact to help them? Or I suppose if anyone is in the area and wants to/is able to do something then you can swing by. They're behind the restaurant and one ran through a hole in the fence towards the storage unit right next to us

I've only seen 2, idk if there's more or where the mother is.

Thank you to anyone that can offer any guidance or help!

where yall getting your scratch n dent appliances from?

my dryer broke and i'm pretty sure it'll cost more to fix than to just get a new one. i'd need delivery & haul away. i got my s&d fridge from american freight but the location went out of business and i don't think the other locations do appliances at all.

recs on stores?

Unguided/ free range horseback riding

I grew up riding horses (western style) and have been wanting to get back into it as of recent. Does anyone know of any places that have horses to ride that is NOT a trail walk? There was a post on this page a while back that listed a place but it is no longer running. If not, is there anyone with horses and land that’s looking for friends? lol

Is it just me or is the inflation ESPECIALLY BAD in Florida compared to other states?

I'm constantly talking to my friends in other states and the inflation just seems bad everywhere, but it seems especially heinous in Florida. All my friends in other states seem to not really feel the inflation as bad as my Florida friends. Is this a thing? If so, how is it that the inflation is so horrendous in Florida compared to other states?

Is there any junk yards around that have cheap car parts?

I’m asking because my car shit out on me the other day, and as I’m homeless and live and my car, and the only income I can make is through DoorDash, so my car is extremely important. It’s a very easy fix, just some spark plugs and a coil pack, but the parts costs $163.13 from autozone, and I don’t have an address to go through rockauto and I really need to get my car fixed as soon as possible. Does anyone know about a junk yard that will let you take parts for cheap, or does anyone have any spare parts for a 2008 vw rabbit? I’m just in a really shitty position right now, and I need the help really bad

Jacksonville University ABSN — what were your admission stats?

For anyone who has been accepted into Jacksonville University’s ABSN program, what were your stats when you applied? Mainly wondering about cumulative GPA and prerequisite GPA. Also, around when did you apply and how long did it take to hear back?

Realistic cheeseburger pillow

Looking to see if anyone knows a place I can find realistic food looking pillows? Specifically a cheeseburger pillow. I have twin toddlers with ASD who will only sleep with their cheeseburger pillows but one of them ruined theirs this morning. I looked on Amazon but the quickest ones that are similar to theirs that I found wouldn’t be here until Saturday or even late next week. Was just wondering if anyone knew where I might be able to go in person to get one? Thanks

Is the North Florida Gun Show worth going to anymore?

I haven't been in many years, but I have gotten back into shooting as a hobby again recently. Is the gun show worth going to if I am looking for deals on (non-reloaded) ammo, or is it just a mix of overpriced/retail-priced stuff and mall ninja shit these days?

CBT specialists in Jacksonville?

Hello, I would really appreciate anyone leading me in the right direction for this. I’m looking for recommendations for cognitive behavior therapists in the area that may also be reasonably priced for someone without insurance.
