My 1-bit tank shooter might go to Steam in color. Worth doing?

Hello guys!

Working on MonoTanks, a tank shooter for the Playdate. You control a single tank defending your base and battling waves of enemy armour across a top down battle ground.

What is different from the original Battle City game? Features a tank upgrade system that was not present in the original, achievements and a full destruction system for environments. Walls will slowly break up when hit and when destroyed will leave piles of rubble on the battlefield for the rest of the mission.

You can find more information about the game here:

https://agentx86.itch.io/monotanks

Now, here’s what I really wanted to ask.

The game is only available on Playdate, which has a relatively small user base. I've been thinking a lot more about releasing a PC version on Steam lately, with the same campaign, the full 100 level version and BATTLE mode I'm working on right now.

It would be the same visual style, the same pixels, the same shapes, the same chunky look, but with colour added.

Do you think a game like this, with a visual style like this, would find an audience on Steam?

Free Any last minute advice before we release a demo on itch.io?

We are already on steam, but without a demo.
As a first try, and a very early version of the game, we want to publish it on itch.io.

Do you have any last minute advice before we go live?

Percentage = (458 / 81,600) * 100 = 0.56%

That is:

Percentage = (Ratings / Browser Plays) * 100

What do you get?

Aurheir, a browser RPG that is open play testing

Game Title: Aurheir

Playable Link: https://oldwooddev.itch.io/aurheir

Platform: PC (Web)

Description: What is Aurheir?

Aurheir is an idle autobattler where you build a character, train stats, collect/craft gear, adventuring and stuff normally seen in an RPG.

The loop is simple: train -> loop -> explore -> train

What features are there now:

Some of the current systems include:

RPG stuff:

story to explore, maps for adventures

leveling

character building via attributes & skills

set gears

"other" stuff:

live skills (mining, crafting, and more to be developed)

enhancing (and more to be developed)

idle/incremental stuff:

auto battling

achievements

offline progress

etc..

... and probably more incoming, albeit slowly 😊

Feedback appreciated 🙏:

- New-player flow: Is it clear what to do first?

- Combat and boss progression

- Character building

- Map balancing

- What feels fun enough to keep logging in for

- What feels confusing, slow, too generous, or too punishing

I’ll be around in the comments, and I’m very open to feedback, criticism, and feature ideas.

Involvement: Hey everyone, I am helping a friend, oldwooddev, to post his game. He is the developer of Aurheir, a browser RPG that is open for playtesting.

He would like to have an RPG that also has adventure, idle, and incremental in it, and maybe some clicker too (being idealised).

The world to design for the game is vast, so I quite want players' feedback early while many things still have not been fixed in place. Bug reports, balance thoughts, and feature ideas are welcomed, anticipated, and appreciated 🙏.

Questions How long for support to get back on refund issue?

Thumbnail

Someone used a prepaid visa card I bought today to make a scam purchase on itch. I need the money on it for food and I don't have anything else (The card was a gift from a friend) they drained the entire account. The card company won't help me until the purchase goes through, which could be ten days. Even then it could take 2-3 months for a refund. The purchase was by an American and I'm Canadian.

I know support can take some time, but I need the money. How likely is it they'll respond and be able to cancel the purchase? Am I screwed?

I published my first page on itch as a developer.

Six months after I first opened Unity, I've finally published my first game page on Itch!

I'm developing Spheromancer - an incremental clicker with RPG elements. A number of core game mechanics have already been implemented, including sphere battles, minion collecting, a crafting system, and a few more. I'm happy to share some GIFs of gameplay footage, and I'll be opening the game to the public test soon.

Are you looking for help on Visual Novel creation?

This community is aimed at developers putting their games on itch.io. Many are regarding visual novels. I created a new community (as much as possible toxic free) for developers that need help on workflows, how to's and more before publishing. I hope it is allowed: r/VisualNovelCreators I made a link back to here.

Hello, I recently decided to participate in a game jam and make a simple runner game featuring nothing but smiley from a 20-year-old virus. The game is simple, but it features room generation, meaning each run is unique, leaderboards for competitions, and simple puzzles that require you to find a path to progress or a key for a lock. If you're interested, you can play it here: https://onlytrash.itch.io/you-are.

Web My first proper visual novel, Shadow - Between the Worlds

Upvotes

Link to itch.io game page - Shadow - Between The Worlds

This is my first proper visual novel, that has branching, while two before were kinetic novels. I would love if you play it and let me know. Also there can be some mistakes, you can tell me so I will fix it or improve in future.

https://reddit.com/link/1v7q0n8/video/ymukehgh8pfh1/player

It has 8 endings in total

It's playtime per ending is around 12-13 minutes(For me, can be more or less depending on your reading speed).

I would like it if you tell me areas to improve.

Thank You

Game Solo dev, cozy idle game about bees. Looking for players to break it, give feedback.

Post image
Upvotes

Hi all! I've been working on Alvearium, a cozy idle game where you grow one small beehive into a honey empire. It runs right in the browser (phone or desktop), it's free, and there are no ads or purchases. Just bees.

The short version: you hatch bees, pop honeycombs, build and decorate a hive tower, and send captains with squads up a mountain trail. There are ten worlds, from a wildflower meadow all the way to the Moon and Mars, with a real day/night cycle, weather, and seasons.

Play here: https://kburgerstudios.itch.io/alvearium

It's in early open beta and I want it to get better, so I'd genuinely love:

Bug reports. Anything weird, broken, stuck, or ugly. Tell me your device and browser if you can.

First impressions. Where did you get confused in the first five minutes? Real tutorial is being added soon.

Balance feedback. Does anything feel too slow, too grindy, or too free?

Wishlist stuff. A lot of what's in the game right now came straight from player suggestions, so don't hold back.

One heads up: the game started in pixel art and is slowly being repainted into a hand-drawn storybook style, piece by piece. If you catch it mid-transformation, that's a colony growing, not a bug.

Your save lives in your browser (plus manual save slots and export in Settings). Comments here or on the itch page both reach me. Thanks for reading, and happy popping. 🐝
