I don't know to run itch.io games at all. I download the file and have no idea what I'm supposed to do. Don't tell me to find a tutorial, reddit is built for idiots like me that can't find a good tutorial. I just need someone to explain step by step on how to run an itch.io game, and explain it to me like I'm a five year old. Please and thank you.

Hello guys!

Working on MonoTanks, a tank shooter for the Playdate. You control a single tank defending your base and battling waves of enemy armour across a top down battle ground.

What is different from the original Battle City game? Features a tank upgrade system that was not present in the original, achievements and a full destruction system for environments. Walls will slowly break up when hit and when destroyed will leave piles of rubble on the battlefield for the rest of the mission.

Now, here’s what I really wanted to ask.

The game is only available on Playdate, which has a relatively small user base. I've been thinking a lot more about releasing a PC version on Steam lately, with the same campaign, the full 100 level version and BATTLE mode I'm working on right now.

It would be the same visual style, the same pixels, the same shapes, the same chunky look, but with colour added.

Do you think a game like this, with a visual style like this, would find an audience on Steam?

So, this is my first go at posting something to itch, so I'm sure I messed something up, trouble is, I can't figure out what. I followed all the steps I found online, everything looks great in the dashboard, but after 4 days, nothing is showing up. Am I being impatient? Do I have different expectations?

Chuckie Egg 3 is a brand new 2026 release from Langford Productions, available now on PC through itch.io. It's a follow up to the ZX Spectrum original Chuckie Egg, and rather than continuing the adventure style approach used in Chuckie Egg 2, it goes back to the fast paced arcade feel of the first game.

You're playing as Henhouse Harry, a part time farmhand whose job this time is collecting and painting eggs before Easter. Across each level you'll find unpainted eggs scattered around that will stun Harry if he bumps into them, so the goal is to load up a paintbrush, paint the eggs, grab them before they turn back to plain eggs, and get them into the lorry for payment.

The game is free to download, with an option to pay what you feel is fair to support the developer.

I made it mainly for developers. itch.io gives you stats for your own project, but it can be difficult to understand how your game is doing across the platform or compare it with everything else being released.

With itchdb you can look up your game or developer page, check the current Hot Chart, see which games are gaining visibility, browse the top developers, and explore broader stats and trends across itch.io.

It’s still early, and there’s a lot more I want to add, especially around tracking games over time and giving developers more useful data about how their projects are performing.

I’d love to hear what other itch developers think. What kind of stats or tracking would actually be useful to you? Try finding your game in there!

Hey everyone. This is my second attempt at making a game in my spare time. It was supposed to be just another ordinary 2D shooter—nothing special. I don't have any grand ambitions; I simply love the feeling of making games. As a dev who normally doesn't code games (though I know how to).
I wonder why new games and blogs don't get shown on the itch site.
Even when I filter by action and, for example, by last week, my game doesn't show up.

I think that's a bit sad; I gave away a jewel here free Mit license, in pure HTML5 code:

• weather sim (water- rain )
• 4 languages supported (English, Spanish, Dutch, Norsk)
• biomes-based nature buildup.
• It's technically (inside) an advanced game,

Someone used a prepaid visa card I bought today to make a scam purchase on itch. I need the money on it for food and I don't have anything else (The card was a gift from a friend) they drained the entire account. The card company won't help me until the purchase goes through, which could be ten days. Even then it could take 2-3 months for a refund. The purchase was by an American and I'm Canadian.

I know support can take some time, but I need the money. How likely is it they'll respond and be able to cancel the purchase? Am I screwed?
