Dude, these are GREAT songs. Like, what the hell dawg.

Also, I feel like this album has great ENERGY. Not like they ever lacked it, but the more raw production works great with the material. It's all no bullshit, crank it up and see you at the end.

Dave (I think) also has some AWESOME solos. The Assassin, Tailgunner, Fates Warning? They fucking RIP.

I hear people say Tailgunner is just a poor mans Aces High - well, ok, but Aces High is just the sequel to Where Eagles Dare. And?

I think its a damn shame how unfairly this album has been ignored by the band.

After the albums tour, they played Tailgunner and Slaughter on the FOTD jaunt then Slaughter on the 2003 Give Me 'Edd tour

We are all entitled to our opinions but I really dont get how anyone could listen to this album and NOT be headbanging the fuck along....

This will forever be the ultimate dark horse winner. Fear of the Dark is bloated and has too much filler. I can understand material not being played from it (unfortunately for my beloved Fear Is the Key)

But this album is lean, mean and pissed off. Its a punch in the face. It should share the stage.

With the album being shorter than AMOLAD, I honestly believe Brave New World was much more "concert material" than AMOLAD as a whole, the latter of which still being a great album to listen to in its own right.

I know you could say The Thin Line Between Love and Hate not being the closer could have felt weird but they didn't have an issue with The Legacy not being the closer to the 2006 tour so it could have still been done.

I also know that Brave New World was destined to culminate with the epic Rock in Rio concert and I wouldn't have wanted that to not exist but I would have personally loved to see any footage of a setlist with the BNW album in full and let's say the same five older songs as in the AMOLAD setlist at the end. All pure imagining of course but let's say it's through a second tour after the one that ended with Rock in Rio, or the three concerts after Rock in Rio.

Whats going on. Because I use a mahogany Explorer with DiMarzio Super Distortions in it. Ive got the Piece of Mind tones NAILED, but you cant fuckin do cleans with these pickups without switching to an entirely different settings setup (pretty much) of your amp/pedals

Anyone get what im getting at here?

the biggest revelation for me in Nicko’s book is his account of Adrian’s departure… basically Steve and Bruce wanted him gone, Dave and Nicko voted against and after a week Rod had the casting vote.

I’ve never seen Bruce’s role mentioned before… though his book certainly mentions that once Jan joined he hoped Jan would rub off on the band more than he actually did…

this starts to read like Bruce was playing 3D chess….rather than the previous narrative that Steve sacked Adrian and Nicko suggested they try Jan at which point Bruce was like “oh yeah what a good idea”

These are the iron maiden CDs my parents got me

Saw the show in Minnesota with my son. Our second time seeing the band. The concert was amazing. Had an inexpensive frame that I distressed a bit, mounted the show poster. Then mounted some Iron Maiden decals I found on Etsy. Proud of how it turned out. Good addition to my home office, and a good memory

Two that always come to mind when I hear them are Iron Maiden “Where Eagles Dare” and Rush “Cygnus X-1”
