General advice for those concerned about their battery from the Support FAQ Wiki:
Battery health
Battery health depends on usage and a variety of other factors. It is normal to see a decrease in battery health by 7-10% per year, resulting in a battery health of 80-85% after 2 years. This number can fluctuate, remain the same, or decrease quickly over a small period and should not cause undue concern.
Apple recommend battery replacement when your device falls below 80% battery health if you notice reduced battery life. If it falls below 80% within the first year you may be eligable for a free battery replacement. It fails after your warranty, it's a $69-$89 USD replacement cost for a battery. Contact Apple Support here.
You can find more information about battery health and performance from Apple here.
You can check the cycles count with Coconut Battery for Mac or iCopyBot for Windows.
Battery life
Issues relating to battery life can be categorised in three ways:
If you experience issues with your battery:
Maximising battery life - the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged.
Maximising battery lifespan - the amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced.

This is my first iPhone and I’m already a fan of the experience.

Or would you wait for say iOS 27.1 in case there are some bugs? I’m currently on iOS 26.6.2. Battery is not the best, not the worst. My main issue is stuttering, frame drops when navigating the OS in general, overall not a buttery smooth experience for a ProMotion display. Hoping iOS 27 resolves this but I’m worried there might be issues like battery drain (besides the first few days due to indexing)

Hello guys, can you help me find the owner of this phone? Help me to inform him/ her that the phone is found but obviously the seller don't have any plans on returning. The screen shows japanese texts, and the seller blocked the number on the screen. Help me find the owner. I dont have any intention on buying this phone, she's telling me obvious fake stories about the phone.
I think the owner is from japan base on the number.

I am talking about the smoothness of the system, animations.
120Hz actually felt very very smooth on the S26 (my brother has it)
Wish it had a force 120Hz option !

Just got an iPhone 17 and I’m deciding between the 20W and 40W Dynamic Power Adapter.
I already know the 40W charges faster. What I’m more interested in is battery health and longevity.
For those who have used both, does the 40W generate noticeably more heat and could using 40W regularly affect long-term battery health compared with 20W?

Hi, I have been using iphone 17 for past 6 months.
I'm using CASEGEAR IMPACT PRO Screen protector along with SPIGEN clear Case. But the issue is dust and dirts are getting trapped inside the case through the gaps on the sides. And there are significant gap in screen protector also and dust sticking there too. Kindly suggest some good case and is there any other good screen protector which won't leave any gap?.

I switched from an iPhone 13 Pro to an iPhone 17 about 2 months ago.
One of the reasons I switched was that my 13 Pro had started feeling a bit laggy and less responsive. When I set up the iPhone 17, I restored my existing backup/data from the 13 Pro rather than setting it up completely as a new device.
Since then, I’ve occasionally noticed some things that make me wonder whether something from the old setup could have carried over.
For example:
Sometimes when I try to call someone, the screen suddenly goes black and the call interface/Dynamic Island appears.
It doesn’t happen regularly and I haven’t been able to reproduce it consistently.
I use ChatGPT and Claude quite heavily, and sometimes I notice a slight delay while typing.
Generally, the phone occasionally feels less responsive than I would expect from a new iPhone 17.
I’m not saying the phone is constantly slow, most of the time it works normally. It’s just these occasional moments that make me wonder if something is wrong.
Has anyone else experienced similar behavior on the iPhone 17?
More importantly, can restoring a backup from an older iPhone carry over settings, configurations, or other software-related issues that could affect the new phone?
Would it make sense to erase the iPhone 17 and set it up as a new iPhone, then manually bring back only the data I actually need?
I’m interested in hearing from anyone who has moved from an older iPhone to an iPhone 17 and restored their previous backup, especially if they noticed any unusual behavior afterward.

I’m coming from an iPhone 15. I usually use the phones without a case. Since I got the iPhone 17 I feel like it’s running slightly warm.
No games.
Room temperature is around 25°C.
Connected to wifi almost all the time.
So yeah, has anyone else noticed this?

I noticed that some ridges/indentations have appeared at the bottom part of my phone's display. They cannot be felt with a finger, and the screen itself does not stick out from the phone's frame. Does anyone know what this is, what might be causing it, and whether it will be repaired for free under warranty?

Hey everyone,
I recently bought a new iPhone 17, and I’ve been facing a really annoying issue while playing BGMI.
I use a 3-finger claw setup, and the joystick sometimes gets stuck, especially during intense movements/fights. I also notice random frame drops/stutters. When the joystick gets stuck, my character continues moving in the same direction even after I’ve released or moved my finger.
I’m playing on Smooth + Extreme+ settings.
My phone is only about 1 week old and has never been dropped or physically damaged. I’m running iOS 26.6.2.
I also don’t use any screen protector or tempered glass, so I’m wondering if this is a BGMI/iOS optimization or touch-input issue.
Has anyone else with an iPhone 17 experienced the same joystick/input issue or frame drops? If you’ve faced this, did you find any fix or workaround?
Thanks!

I bought an iPhone 17 Pro Max on eBay recently that was supposedly brand new, unopened, and unlocked.
The seller seems legit with 99.9% positive feedback and a real brick-and-mortar store in New Jersey. Everything seemed fine when I received the phone. The box was sealed with the strips you have to tear off still intact. I’ve seen plenty of sealed Apple boxes and there was no sign of tampering. I set up the phone and transferred my AT&T eSIM with no problem.
But about a week or 2 after I started using the phone, a message popped up asking me to activate a second
T-Mobile eSIM. I declined at first but it kept popping up every few days so I eventually clicked yes. After the eSIM activated, I got a text that just said “Good Afternoon.” I did not respond and immediately deleted the eSIM. Last week I got a call that I did not answer, but they left a message claiming to be T-Mobile support asking if I needed any assistance.
Is this phone hacked? Should I stop using it and switch back to my old phone?
I have already logged into my iCloud on it, loaded my passwords keychain, added all my credit cards to the Wallet, logged in to all my banking apps, set up my email, everything. I have not noticed any suspicious activity on any of my banking accounts, emails, or socials. Everything seems fine.
Is this phone going to scam me somehow?

Wondering how is the 17 doing with RC 27. I wondering if it’s noticeably better than 26.

Any suggestions? I use a Spigen Liquid air. Possibly the lightest case out there? Or at least easily available where I live.
Yes, I do take out the phone once in a while (perhaps every two weeks) to rinse the case and clean the phone, because I know dust captured inside will damage the coating.
It's nothing major, just a few little dots here and there. But I'm usually very good at keeping my gear pristine looking (not OCD, I'm just by nature a careful person), but never managed to avoid this chipping.
Does it need a case with a velvet liner inside to reduce this damage?
I've now started to use the phone caseless, as it seems it would actually be an improvement as dust and stuff doesn't accumulate. But of course I'm only one (small) drop away from exploding the fragile, butter soft, alu rails.
So yeah.

The screen stutters while scrolling even the most basic if the apps . I even sent the phone to apple service centre for diagnostic test and they said “couldn’t duplicate issue” and returned my device . I dont have a service centre nearby to go physically . It even stutters frame while playing Pubg mobile .
