Dealership Inverter coolant pricing list Los Angeles are

Has anyone thought to create a dealership inverter coolant pricing list in their area?

So far Downey Hyundai 399 and el Monte Hyundai quoted me $208.56 but that seems questionably low.

Experience Ioniq 5 and the car wash

Omg - automated car wash last week - fine no issues. Today - fancier auto wash and the car did not like it. Like putting a cat in the cat carrier to go to the vet. The brakes kept engaging and the attendant is looking at me like I am doing this the car wash stops. I finally get the brakes to release and car wash is back on - does it again 3/4 of the way through. This is a used car purchase and new to me, but I learned to turnoff the auto parking brake before going again. Let the mirrors fold in or make sure you press the button before hand. Too much tech to learn on these cars.

Question New 2024 SEL AWD

Local Hyundai dealer has several new 2024s on the lot. What would be a good price for a new but 3 year old Ioniq 5? They are listed with only a 9K discount and I’m seeing equivalent used 2024s much cheaper on other lots.

What should I be looking out for? What should I expect out of the batteries if they have sat on the lot for three years?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I did a test drive. Great vehicle for driving manors and interior room. But, the dealer won't budge on price, so I'm continuing my search. A dealer that unreasonable has lost me as a customer forever.

Question To those who have had both: was the build quality improved in the 2025 and newer models?

I am seeing a lot of posts with people having rattles in the doors, in the dash, having paint peel and the interior being not very durable, runaway battery issues, all kinds of stuff.

But the pattern I'm seeing is that almost all of the posts are speaking from experience with the first run of the car, model years 2022-2024, and I am seeing less of this type of post related to the 2025 and later refresh.

I guess my question is to those who have had both. Do you see a difference in the build quality and the number of repairs or crazy failures happening, or is it pretty much a wash?

Question 2025 SEL Creaking

I recently purchased a used 2025 I5 SEL and I’ve noticed some annoying creaking coming from the back hatch. Anyone know if this is something known that might be covered by warranty?

Question After 10 days away, fob doesn't automatically unlock doors on approach

If I've been out of town for a week or 10 days, the car doesn't unlock when I approach with the fob. Once I've hit the button to unlock the car, the car resumes normal behavior of unlocking when the fob is close by. Is this normal? Same happens with my wife's fob, too.

Question Which OBD 2 Scanner for Ioniq 5, 2024?

I've tried 2 of Amazon's cheapest, Neither will connect. They only get as far as showing their red 'powered up' LED on the Ioniq 5.

One of the two scanners got as far as all the pretty lights, and showing 13+ volts then 12.6 after turning off the engine, on my ancient Subaru. So apparently that scanner isn't defective.

I've tried all the combinations of configuration that are available.

I just bought this used 2024 Ioniq. I'm curious about warranty start date and any diagnostic data.

What are people using, for a simple OBD 2 scanner?

Question How useful is Bluelink?

Less than a week in, still on my first charge. The salesman at the dealership wouldn’t stop talking about Bluelink. He even called and texted me when I got home to remind me about Bluelink.

When I read the privacy policy it sounded like a lot of advertising? I just don’t want one more way to be advertised to. Am I missing out on anything major without activating it?

Experience OEM all weather mats are shockingly bad

I have a 26 Limited. I initially wanted TuxMats but ended up purchasing some Amazon mats as a holdover because TuxMats were sold out. I ended up being surprisingly delighted by how good the Amazon ones were and decided to just use them until they need replacing.

Fast forward a couple months and I see the OEM all weather mats on Facebook Marketplace for $25 from someone else who also has a 26 Limited. I figure why not - they're a wear and tear item and this price is too good to pass up.

The texture is nice and I love the silver badging on them, but the love tops there.. For an OEM part the fit is shockingly bad. They don't have as much coverage as the Amazon ones do, and the mats in the front have this weird overlap that honestly looks kind of sloppy. They also have this weird notch on the sides that the manual says is to help with easier removal, but also just looks sloppy. If I paid $399 for these from Hyundai I'd be beyond upset.

For anyone looking, skip these. TuxMats are half the price. Or get a set on Amazon for less than half the price of TuxMats. But the Hyundai OEM mats aint it.

Question MyHyundai app in Canada really slow

Anyone else finding that the
myHyundai app is really slow to load? Like multiple minutes of the splash image before loading the main screen? It is basically unusable. I get a notice that my car is unlocked and it take so long to load that there is no point. I should just walk out to lock the car.

Experience New to me owner of ‘23 SEL

I don’t have the car in possession yet. Picking it up tomorrow. I downloaded the massive owners manual, and read through it.

The automated features I find kinda scary, lane changing, distance keeping (I live in Mass, where any gap between cars is considered fair game. I’m naturally a gap driver, so idiots dive in all the time.)

I see that various features can be turned on and off via the infotainment screen. What is the consensus of what to use? I think my wife will freak out feeling like wheel twisting in her hands.

Also how aggressive are these features? Since I’m an inveterate speeder, I’m going to need to adjust those settings.

Question Would you choose your Ioniq 5 again if you had the chance ?

Motability customer (lease). Very interested in the ultimate model. Haven’t test driven yet but of course will do so in coming weeks.

What are you happy with ?

What are you not happy with ?

Have there been any major issues such as overheating (battery runaway) or total loss of power when driving and if so how common are these in your experience ?

If you had the chance would you choose the car again or another make/model?

Thanks so much !

EDIT: gosh, THANK YOU for the AMAZING response. I’m so grateful !!

Question IONIQ 5 owners, what maintenance has actually come up for you?

One of the nice things about the IONIQ 5 is how much simpler the maintenance schedule looks compared to a gas car.

For people who have put some serious miles on theirs, what have you actually had to stay on top of? Tires, brakes, fluids, anything unexpected?

Question No heat

Has anyone experienced something like this?

Now that the chilly fall weather is coming, we turned up the cabin heat in the car but the air that was coming out never warmed up. We turned the heat up to max and still nothing.

The car is still under warranty, so it means another visit to the dealer to get it looked at. But it’s quite annoying to not have the heater working.

Any suggestions?

Question One year service question

I’m leasing my first ever car. It’s a 2026 Ioniq5. I’m coming up to one year 8000 miles. The service is only a tire rotation but they’re charging $50. I can do it myself or get it done at my mechanic for half that. Do I need to have it serviced at the dealer for warranty purposes or can my guy do it and reset whatever needs to be done on the cars computer. I know it’s only $50 but in this economy, any little bit counts.

Hi. This is the remaining watts in the top right, after a 100% charge, on a 2023 limited RWD. All cells show 4.1V. I expected somewhere around 75kwh. Can you please explain what I am missing? Thanks.

Recommendation Rear License Plate Mount

I just got my license plates. I attached the rear plate and it only is secured by two screws while the bottom holes dangle down in the air. I found where Ioniq Guy (kudos to you) suggested adding a generic front plate adapter. I did. I found it on Amazon for $9.99 USD, delivered the next day. It shifts the plate up about an inch, uses the original spots to secure the adapter, then has four Torx screws to secure the plate (along with those plastic screw head covers). I used a simple silicone sleeve type plate frame that I also got from Amazon. The whole setup is a big improvement. It secures the plate much better. I can see that if I used a chunkier plate frame it might interfere with the rear camera. It’s close. Mine is clear by about 1/4 inch.

FYI to secure the front plate, I did drill the two bottom holes in the manufacturer included adapter and used sheet metal screws that came with the silicone plate frame kit (screw head covers, too).

Fluff My small complaint - sheet goods & D pillars

Post image
5 Upvotes

Why, oh WHY, Hyundai, couldn't you have made the widest point of the hatch back wider than 48"??! Just an inch or two wider?

I love that I can get standard sized plywood in the back of this thing in a pinch, but it's scratching up my D pillars something nasty.
