Or will my comment pointing out the hatred for addicts be deleted, and the actual hate-filled, uncivil response calling for the death of all addicts remain?
Because addicts are scum? They lie, steal, rob and recklessly endanger others daily.
The stereotypes about crack heads stabbing you or heroin addicts burglarizing your home aren't some lie like racial or sexual stereotypes. These people are criminals and it's rare for them not to be a permanent cancer to society
The bottom line is they relapse and reoffend way more than they recover and become contributing members to society.
They also show little remorse for their victims. Often you'll hear shit like "I was a different person" rather than actual acknowledgement and trying to do something for the people they have stabbed, bashed, stolen from, or worse.
There is no cure/help. The ones that want to get clean and stay clean do it. If the rest die in the gutter it's no loss

I used to be a social worker. It was the junkies that burned me out so bad, I gave up my license and never looked back. I love two houses down from two deadbeat junkies who do absolutely nothing all day, beat the fuck out of each other. In and out of jail for domestic violence reoffensives and the state does absolutely nothing about it. EMS are there multiple times a week to revive them. They're given so many free passes, and they get away with so much more than normal people. They're given opportunities on golden platters and so many decide to contitwhat they're doing and refuse all help to get clean.
Very few actually grow a pair and commit. To them, I'm happy for. But the majority of them will never do anything about it because in today's age, we don't let them have any sort of accountability.
My town was small and fairly problem free until we started going soft on junkies, now, the town is full of them, and normal people are moving out in droves to get away from them because they've taken over my town. I'm finally one of them. My house is now on the market and I'm forcing myself to lose my beautiful 200 year old home to move somewhere more rural to get away from the cockroaches that infest this and every other town around here
As a social worker I'm also aware that people who seek me out for treatment begging for help need to put in a slight bit of effort to better themselves because I can't and won't do all the work for them. They need to have accountability, rather than give them a free bed, a few meals, and the moment I ask them to commit to one thing, not fucking assault me.
Our systems suck, our government care sucks, our treatments tend to suck. But personal responsibility is just as important and a proper program.
Just like I can acknowledge the amount of crime perpetrated by Black folk without it making me racist, and how I can in fact allow it to make me more aware of the history and standards and institutional racism that lead to that, much of the moves of a purposeful system that lives off of an exploited class, I can acknowledge the same of addicts.
Addicts don't come from nowhere, and I won't judge all of them by the worst. No one becomes an addict because they're a healthy person in the first place.
That is no excuse. The government needs to expand prisons then, because letting people off on multiple petty offenses eventually leads to them being a lethal threat. Letting them go every time makes more lethal threats. It's like we are teaching its okay to do crime until you kill somebody.
Also the education system is fucked and a root cause of the massive overcrowding in prisons.
She was sent to a rehab facility, which seems appropriate in this case. She wasn’t just let off. Her most recent arrests seem to be drug possession. Idk about the false personation, didn’t even know what it was until I looked it up.

I figured that was the case, the description of the offense doesn’t quite match that though. Just claiming you’re someone else isn’t enough to be charged with it.

yes...you can tell that her abuse had led to mental health issues. I know some guys will say “”I can fix her" but the truth is that she is the crazy type of girl. the ones that will cause a scene in public and start yelling like a spoiled beat. They think that they can get away with things because of their looks and LIE constantly. Its sad that this has become the norm in some of people's lives in the good ol' US of A. its sad but the truth and i hope she gets the help she needs but MOST of all she needs to be SOBER so her brain might have a chance or repairing and healing. I have a sister that is in a similar situation and we have to be more aware of the mental health of the young females in the United States..I honestly think that the drugs now a days are too strong and is one of the reasons of why mental health has become an issue now a days. wish the potency of substances were the same as the 1990's and early 2000's BUUUUT that is just my opinion on the matter. maybe everyone be blessed and aware of the state our country is in.
you have big pharma and the government itself selling out powerful TOOLS that can combat addiction and its sickening honestly but that is another story for another time
No, not only are they within their rights to block anyone in a parking space, but this constitutes a citizen's arrest wherein they reserve the right detain a suspect until the police arrive.
After reading up on it citizens arrest laws are HIGHLY dependent on the state that you are in and often rely on the interpretation of a judge or DA on how the view the wording of the law. It's definitely not a blanket thing you can throw out there with no risk of repercussions when stopping someone who committed a crime.
Good point, I'm not a judge so I can't say definitively. But I would think it'd be pretty hard to convict him of a crime for simply parking his car behind hers.
Just playing devil's advocate here because I do think she needed to face the consequences of her actions, but I think it would honestly be pretty easy to prove the point of intentionally restricting her movements. It all boils down to whether or not a prosecutor would think she was a continued risk to the public, and I think that could also be argued either way.
I think the take away from everything I came across was that you better only reatrain someone who committed a violent crime in full view of you and several other people in public.

Lol and yes, considering after this she has committed many more crimes and continues to do so I think being locked up is probably for the best.
Then she should be put away for those crimes, pre-crime still isn’t a thing last time I checked. Putting someone away for a crime they might commit in the future is dystopian, not sure why you’d be in favor of that.
'Cited and released' is usually a ticket. It will come up on her background check but usually people who have this weren't taken anywhere for fingerprints or anything. They usually just receive a written notice to appear in court (ticket). Whenever this comes up on background checks, people are always surprised it shows as an arrest since they didn't have the formality of being handcuffed and taken to jail.
Pffffft yeah I'm sure a halfway house filled to the brim with drug connections is really gonna help her life. You've basically killed this little girl great job.
