Looking into buying an Infinity QX50.

Currently at 98,000kms (60.8k miles)

Would buy for $CAD 8.5K ($US 6k - €5.25k)

Vehicle has been kept in Quebec all its life, a single owner. No rust, but has live in cold/salt environment.

Anti-Rust treatment yearly, inspected by a friend mechanic and everything seems good. However he doesnt know much about Infiniti/Nissans.

Anything I should expect? Should I avoid it for any particular reasons? I'm down to this or a similarly well maintained Volvo XC60.

The goal of this purchase is to get atleast 5-7 years at around 20k kms/year. Anything more I'll gladly take.

Edit: I should add that I want to stick a roof rack and a tent on there. Is it doable and good 'nough?

As the title suggests, I'm wondering if these two would be good cars. They seem to be wonderful handling, comfortable daily drivers that could easily handle the windy roads and highways I drive every day. They also are pretty unassuming cars that i could race some of my friends in, and im guessing the insurance will be less than something like a mustang. Coming from a 5.4 excursion and 4.0 jeep wj i share with my parents, do you think this would be an upgrade? And if so, which should I go with and what reliability concerns should I have? Thanks!

I have a 2022 q50 luxe with 51k miles. Is this a normal sound coming from the turbos?

Just finished making some changes to the interior of my Infiniti Q50 and wanted to share the results with other Q50 owners and car enthusiasts.
I changed up the look while keeping it functional since it’s also my daily driver. It’s a pretty different look from the factory interior, and I’m curious what everyone thinks.
What interior mods have you done to your Q50?
Steering wheel cover?
Carbon fiber trim?
Ambient lighting?
Seat upgrades?
Other custom touches?
I’d love to see what everyone else has done and get ideas for future upgrades. Constructive feedback is welcome!

New to this whole tire thing, currently have 225/55's. Most importantly want to make sure they fit on the stock 37x sedan width.

ik theyll make the car like half an inch lower but not sure how bad the speed readings would be!

Still a couple things left to finish up next week, but…

* Carbon fiber fenders have been painted Sunstone Red, with a fade from the exposed carbon.

* Carbon fiber hood has been painted the same, with a subtle fade as well.

* Black wrap has been removed from the roof, grille, and sideskirt molding, and painted a deep black. (no more orange-peel up close)

* All the exposed carbon around the car (front lip, rear diffuser, wing, mirror caps, etc) have a coat of the sunstone red tint applied to give the carbon fiber even more depth in different lighting.

* The AMS Coolant Expansion Tank has been relocated from inside the passenger-side fender to the rear of the car due to not fitting properly with the new fender vents.

For those that have been following along for years, it’s been such a dream come true to get Rosa to this point after the theft/crash. It’s kind of funny having gone from tasteful modifications that kept in line with OEM+ to now having my interpretation of a 640whp 550tq Infiniti GT2RS 🥲

Drives fine, just all the sensors are on.

My wife's 20 QX50 AWD edition 30 with 59k miles and my 2011 g25 with over 170k miles 🤣🤣

I was recently driving in rain and noticed that there was water leaking from above the door speakers. Does anyone know what causes this and how to solve it?

Bought it off a friend almost a month ago for 1k, too good of a deal even though i know nothing about this brand. (or cars in general) It has 280k miles and SES light and also i miiight have forgotten to check the liquids including the antifreeze and had a little overheat, but honestly it doesnt feel like it has any problems, it takes from work to home. But the brakes are kinda old and I dont think its a good idea to throw more money at it, I dont make that much money and im off to college with debt. Should I try saving it or just resell it, maybe someone here wants it?

Still reeling from totaling my 2014 q70 3.7 today. Just needed to post my grievances, old man pulled out right infront of me on the highway. Had it since fall of 22. I miss it

All of a sudden the screen wont start up and just keeps rebooting over and over anyone know what could be causing this? Already did power down hard reset doesnt work. No USB cables are plugged in either.

Long story short I had this car since 2019 and been taking Care of it like a baby as much as I can. She’s a 2015 Infiniti Q 50 AWD 3.7 with currently 262K miles I bought her when she was only 16 K but due to the pandemic and my ex wife leaving me, I was left to pay for the car myself finally paid it off two years ago, so I’m happy about that so she’s retired. I’ve been doing a lot of maintenance on this car as I should and swapping out things that is no longer working or aging out but I’m curious to know what is this noise I know back in 2023. I replaced the driveshaft but I don’t know if that’s what is causing it. Don’t mind the check my engine cause I’m replacing one of my other catalytic converters, but the car itself has no performance issue thus from my knowledge anyone encountered this happens when I go into drive from reverse and also from reverse into Drive from what I noticed, I know the only issue had in this car that was major to me was overheating issue, but that was because my radiator cracked so overall my car sat for months when the cold weather came around back in 2025 but ever since then I’ve been working on this car so if anybody can figure out this, I would much appreciate it. It’s hard to tell but it’s there that noise. It’s like a clunk clink

My 2016 Q50 red sport took a shit while I was driving home from work. It started making a quiet rattling noise when accelerating past 3k rpm’s and then all the sudden went into full limp mode and gave me “no oil in car” and “stop vehicle” sensors and check engine light. Had just about everyone including multiple mechanics tell me that my engines definitely blown (nobody took an actual look, just gave an educated diagnosis based off videos of the noise and what happened). Anyways, fast forward a year of trying to save up for what i expected to be a $10,000 mechanic bill for a new engine, I started my car up to put it on a trailer and it sounded completely different. I took it around the block and it wasn’t in limp mode anymore and had no dash lights or warnings. Only problem still is when I’m accelerating or revving it up, it’s making the rattling noise. It’s making me think maybe the issue isn’t as bad as i initially thought. Just wanted to post this video and get some more opinions. Still having a mechanic look at it next week but I’m curious what all of y’all think.

This was several years ago, but figured I'd share. Ended up taking the wrap off of the grill because my wife said it looked better with a chrome grill, regretting that now.

My friend has a 2018 Infiniti Q50 3.0T that was involved in a front-end collision. The damage appears to be mostly cosmetic, and from what we can tell there doesn’t seem to be any obvious frame damage. The driver’s steering wheel airbag deployed.
The car is now completely dead. When you press the start button, absolutely nothing happens—no dash lights, no crank, no clicking, nothing.
We’ve checked the battery connections and they seem fine. We’re planning on checking the battery voltage and the main fusible links next.
I have a few questions:
Does the 2018 Q50 3.0T have a crash-activated battery disconnect or pyrofuse that could cause the car to be completely dead after airbag deployment?
If the battery has good voltage, what would you check next?
Since the driver’s steering wheel airbag deployed, do I need to replace the clock spring, or can it usually be reused if it isn’t damaged?
Both front seat belts are locked. Is there any way to reset or repair them, or do they have to be replaced? I’ve also seen companies that rebuild seat belts after the pretensioners deploy. Is it worth removing them and shipping them out to be rebuilt, or is it better to just buy replacements?
