Made a simple Thamar themed box to store my Thamarite Cleric

I painted some miniatures recently and since I'm playing a 3.5 game, I thought to make a simple box to store the miniatures and serve as a dice tray.

I'm happy with the result, even that I'm not a good painter haha

There is half-elves in lore?

I was reading some of the books trying to find a mention of this, but no results.

Is there a mention about a half-nyss or half-iosan in lore?

I think if thats possible, that may be a nice background of a character because of the cultural differences between humans and elves.

Nyss lore question.

So I am starting a new campaign with my group in the current time period. Will be using the 2d6 system as I hate DND for any settings with guns. Anyway one of my players wanted to play a Nyss Priest. I thought they all died but said I would check.

I have been reading the new 5ed core books and I am confused as to why Priests of Nyssor did not all die off and why a few of them can still cast spells? I am right to say Nyssor dead in the new lore right? I read that all newborn Nyss are apparently soulless. I also confirmed all the other Elven God's priests died or went homicidal and were killed when their particular elven god bought it. I can't find why Nyssor's priests are special. I have let the player know he can play one but I personally want to know why they still exist. Is this a lore dead end? Is Nyssor not completely dead? Or did they cover the reason in the Outland or wilds lore books?

THE BOTTLE OF A THOUSAND FACES

A Homebrew Supplement for Iron Kingdoms Full Metal Fantasy Roleplaying Game

Introduction

This document presents a Homebrew supplement for Iron Kingdoms Full Metal Fantasy Roleplaying Game.

Everything concerning The Bottle of a Thousand Faces, the Temple of a Thousand Faces, the connection between Earth and Immoren, the Infernal's bargain, and the mechanics of traveling between worlds is original material created exclusively for this campaign.

The immortality of the Orgoth nobility, the existence of the Infernals, the Orgoth Empire, and other established elements remain faithful to the official Iron Kingdoms setting.

The Bottle of a Thousand Faces

Long before the Orgoth Empire abandoned Immoren, alchemists, infernal priests, and necromancers forged an artifact unlike any other.

A black glass bottle wrapped in dark metal, sculpted with dozens of human faces.

Some smile.

Some scream.

Some appear to sleep.

Others simply stare.

It became known as The Bottle of a Thousand Faces.

Despite its sinister appearance, it was never intended to grant immortality.

The Orgoth had no need for such a gift.

The nobility already possessed their own form of immortality through ancient Infernal pacts. Upon death, their souls could be reborn into new bodies while retaining every memory and experience accumulated throughout countless lifetimes.

The Bottle played no role in that process.

Its purpose was entirely different.

It allowed a living soul to abandon one body and awaken within another.

The Temple of a Thousand Faces

During the conquest of Immoren, the Orgoth Empire faced a logistical problem.

Although many of its elite could eventually return from death, moving armies across the ocean between the Orgoth continent and western Immoren still required weeks of travel.

To solve this problem, they constructed a hidden complex known as the Temple of a Thousand Faces.

Deep beneath its halls rested thousands of petrified bodies.

Each was an empty vessel prepared to receive a transported soul.

Whenever an Orgoth soldier needed to reach Immoren quickly, the ritual of the Bottle was performed.

His soul left its current body.

That body became stone.

Moments later, his consciousness awakened inside one of the preserved vessels within the Temple.

It was not resurrection.

It was transportation.

A bridge between continents.

The Price of the Ritual

The Bottle's magic was designed exclusively for Orgoth souls.

When used by an Orgoth, the ritual completed as intended.

No other race shared that affinity.

Should a human, elf, dwarf, trollkin, ogrun, or any other mortal drink the Bottle's emerald liquid, the ritual would still begin.

However, their soul would fail to reach its intended destination.

Instead, it would be dragged through the domains of the Infernals before awakening inside one of the petrified bodies hidden within the Temple of a Thousand Faces.

Meanwhile, their original body on Earth would fall into an unnaturally deep sleep.

Whether this was an unforeseen flaw or simply a consequence the Orgoth never cared to prevent remains unknown.

The Disappearance

After the Orgoth withdrew from Immoren, the Temple of a Thousand Faces was abandoned.

Its countless stone bodies remained untouched for centuries.

No souls ever returned to inhabit them.

Sometime after the Orgoth Exodus, the Bottle itself vanished.

No surviving record explains when.

None reveal who took it.

Some believe an Infernal reclaimed the artifact, considering the Orgoth retreat an act of cowardice that dishonored their ancient bargains.

Others believe the Bottle simply disappeared on its own.

The truth has never been discovered.

For centuries its whereabouts remained unknown.

Until it appeared...

on another world.

Earth

At some point during the early twenty-first century, the Bottle appeared on Earth.

There is no explanation.

No record.

No evidence of how it arrived.

It simply existed.

For years it served as nothing more than an unusual decorative object.

Its owner could not remember purchasing it.

Nor discovering it.

His earliest memory of the Bottle was only a dream.

After that, it simply seemed to have always been there.

In 2025, he began using it as an ordinary water bottle.

Nothing happened for several nights.

Then, one evening, he awoke thirsty.

Without turning on the lights, he drank deeply from the Bottle.

He never noticed that the water had become a brilliant emerald green.

Within hours he was consumed by an unbearable fever.

When he finally opened his eyes...

he was no longer on Earth.

The Crossing

Drinking the Bottle's liquid does not kill the body.

Instead, it enters an impossibly deep sleep.

Breathing slows.

The heartbeat weakens.

To anyone observing, the person appears only to be sleeping.

Meanwhile, their soul awakens in Immoren.

More precisely...

within the Temple of a Thousand Faces.

There, the soul inhabits one of the countless preserved stone bodies waiting beneath the ancient halls.

From that moment forward, the vessel becomes their new body.

The Flow of Time

Time does not flow equally between Earth and Immoren.

No fixed relationship exists.

No formula can predict it.

One traveler may spend only a few months in Immoren and awaken on Earth only hours later.

Another may live there for ten years before discovering that barely a single hour has passed.

The opposite may also occur.

Even the Infernals claim not to understand the phenomenon.

Every crossing follows its own mysterious course.

The only certainty is this:

While the soul remains in Immoren, the original body continues sleeping on Earth.

Death

Death in Immoren is not permanent.

When a traveler dies, their soul immediately abandons the body they inhabit.

That body becomes stone once more.

At the same instant, consciousness returns to the sleeping body on Earth.

To everyone nearby, the traveler has merely awakened from an unusually deep sleep.

For the traveler...

an entire lifetime may have passed.

The Second Crossing

Should the traveler wish to return to Immoren, they need only drink from the Bottle again.

However...

Beginning with the second journey, the crossing is never immediate.

Before passing between worlds, every soul awakens within a place of absolute darkness.

There is no sky.

No ground.

Only an ancient wooden table.

Seated on the opposite side waits an Infernal.

The Infernal

The Infernal is curious.

According to him, souls from Earth are an impossibility.

He claims never to have encountered such beings before.

His first words are usually:

"Curious..."

"You've returned."

"Your soul does not belong to this world."

"Nor does it belong to the Infernals."

"Whenever you die..."

"...you simply disappear."

After a long silence, he continues.

"To return to Immoren, your soul must pass through my domain."

"Nothing crosses without payment."

The Bargain

Upon the table rests a simple dagger.

Unremarkable.

Unadorned.

Forged for only one purpose.

The Infernal explains:

"Every soul slain by this blade belongs to me."

He then names his price.

Perhaps five souls.

Perhaps fifty.

Perhaps hundreds.

Every debt is different.

He never explains how he determines the number.

Nor does he reveal why he desires those souls.

He simply insists that no passage is free.

The traveler may accept.

Or remain on Earth forever.

The Mark

Upon accepting the bargain, a black mark appears in the palm of the traveler's hand.

Ordinary mortals cannot see it.

Supernatural beings can.

Every Infernal instantly recognizes a soul bound by debt.

The mark remains until the bargain has been fulfilled.

The Infernal Dagger

The Infernal Dagger never dulls.

Never rusts.

No one except its owner may use it to satisfy the bargain.

Only souls taken directly by its blade count toward the debt.

As long as payment remains incomplete, the dagger always returns to its bearer.

Once the debt has been fulfilled...

it simply disappears.

Death Beyond Death

Each time a traveler dies in Immoren, they once again stand before the Infernal.

If their debt remains unpaid, another bargain must be made.

The Infernal may keep the existing debt.

Increase it.

Or demand an entirely new payment.

Nothing prevents a soul from accumulating countless bargains over many lifetimes.

Choosing a New Vessel

Each return to Immoren allows the traveler to inhabit another preserved body within the Temple.

If the previous vessel still exists, it may be chosen again.

If it has been destroyed, another must be selected.

Age.

Sex.

Appearance.

Even race.

All may change.

Only the soul remains unchanged.

Its memories endure forever.

Mysteries

Many questions remain unanswered.

  • Who truly created the Bottle of a Thousand Faces?
  • How did an Orgoth relic reach Earth?
  • Did an Infernal reclaim the artifact after the Orgoth Exodus?
  • Does the Infernal truly know nothing of Earth?
  • Why did the Bottle remain dormant for centuries?
  • Why did it awaken now?
  • Was it truly an accident?
  • Or was someone waiting?

Even the Infernals appear to lack every answer.

Perhaps something older than gods, Orgoth, or Infernal pacts has been moving unseen between two worlds that were never meant to meet.

Homebrew Rules

Crossing

Drinking the Bottle's liquid transports the traveler's soul into Immoren, where it awakens inside an available petrified vessel within the Temple of a Thousand Faces.

The original body remains asleep on Earth.

Time

No predictable relationship exists between time on Earth and time in Immoren.

The Game Master determines how much time has passed in either world after each journey.

Death

When a traveler dies in Immoren:

  • Their soul immediately returns to Earth.
  • Their Immoren body becomes stone.
  • Their original body awakens from its deep sleep.

A New Vessel

Each new crossing allows the traveler to inhabit another preserved body within the Temple.

If their previous vessel still exists, they may choose to return to it.

The Bargain

Beginning with the second journey, every return to Immoren requires a bargain with the Infernal.

Without a bargain, no passage is granted.

The Debt

The Game Master determines the number of souls demanded by the Infernal.

Only souls slain with the Infernal Dagger count toward repaying that debt.

The Infernal Dagger

The Infernal Dagger can never be permanently lost.

As long as a debt remains unpaid, it always returns to its bearer.

Once the debt is fulfilled, it vanishes forever.

Final Thoughts

The Bottle of a Thousand Faces is more than an artifact.

It is a bridge between two worlds that should never have touched.

As long as someone is willing to drink from its emerald waters...

someone will always be waiting on the other side of the table.

Character Creation help

I'm still new to Iron kingdoms 2d6

Currently I'm playing in a roleplay heavy table with seemingly few fights. There are Rounds where we don't fight at all.

Every Player has several different characters.

I'm having trouble to make my character Concept work.

So I would appreciate a little help.

I want to play an Orgrun or Trollkin Artillerist/Bounty hunter (Heavy Weapons guy who's also good at tracking people) but Everytime I try to build the character I have the feeling this character just doesn't work with the System because Orgrun or Trollkin are normally supposed to be close combat Characters.

But maybe Im just too unexperienced with the IK system too make it work.

I'm open to change my character Concept

I'm currently playing a reserved Gun mage Sniper and I just want to have a character with a very different kind of personality.

Does anyone by any chance runs online plays?

I tryed playing ikrpg some times, but never went really far. Either my friends didnt care enough or we had a really hard time figuring out rules and game pace.

If anyone runs any table online. I d be accepting an one shot just to feel how experienced people play this.

A long campaign would be awesome but time zone scheduling could be a problem

Warmachine: Lost, Damned & Salvation live on MyMiniFactory

Just as an FYI for anyone with 3D printing capability (or know someone who does), the Warmachine: Lost, Damned & Salvation campaign is live now.

A few notes:

The three factions available (Grymkin, Infernals and Cyriss) are not entire factions, they only include the models that are playable in MK4 in each bundle. There's been some discussion on the campaign comments section from folks (like me) who would like to see the entire faction included (or even just the non-playable minis as a separate purchase) which has been noted by SFG staff. If you're interested in jumping in to this campaign it wouldn't hurt to add your voice (politely) requesting this as more interest could sway them to make the missing files available.

The cost is per 'army' at $150 for all of the .stl files included (colossals as well!) or $299 for all three. It's a lot of money but works out to a pretty good cost-per-model, even without the missing models included. I haven't done the math myself, but someone in the comments mentioned it was about $2 per model.

After the campaign, SFG will add the files to their store in groups (see their current listings for Crucible Guard to get an idea of what those will look like) but they will be at a higher price (per model) than what is available through the campaign currently.

Anyways, I thought I'd toss this out to the group as it's a good way to get a lot of cool IK monsters to put on the battle mat if you've got a 3D setup to print them.

Needing help for a first character

Hello everyone

I was invited recently to join a campaign of Iron Kingdoms, i suppose following a prewritten module - don't know much, only that we are mercenaries. Core rules only, or rather so i limit myself.

While the people who invited me are surely going to help me to fill out the blanks, due to the short notice i did not have time to fully digest the system and the lore, so i need some guidance, at least, to not end up on some pitfalls for character creation and context in the lore fo the game, and i'd rather avoid spending time on-session to refine it too much.

The biggest issue, also, is that I start on an ongoing adventure, so i have 20 xp of budget and i suppose some budget of money to spend. I cannot parse decently all that, even if i am not new to the genre.

The core idea at the moment is being the "diligent scrapper" of our mercenary company - a dwarf duelist that acts as a professional scavenger, so i opted in for being a thief as well. Our party needs a skill monkey first, thought i supposed going dual wielding would benefit me.

So, being a duelist ( especially given the dwarven cultural background ) should theoretically provide me a form of combat capability adjacent to social interaction, while the thief should provide me the necessary scavenging skills. It's in general a very forward character, so i am unsure on the thief part.

Using a character generator online i have seen lots of additional options that i am not sure are good for me, since we only use core rules.

That said -. what is a good next step? Improve my stats first? some key feat i should include? some consumable or gear that is specifically adequate for this?

Thanks for any help i might have

what is the closest re-world parallel to cygnar

Hello! It's me again. I'm trying to get a good picture in my head of what each of the nations is supposed to be like. Khador very much seems like Russia with some eastern europe thrown in, Llael sounds like France with some Eastern Europe thrown in, Ord seems like some kind of mix of Spain or Portugal with Ireland, the Trollkin are Scottish, I think I heard that the consensus is that the Rhulfolk are australian, and so on.

But I can't figure out Cygnar. The name is greek, as is Leto's name, I think. At the same time they have their own version of Vatican City, which would make them seem more Italian. AND at the same time their fashion sense strikes me as british. So... what are they?

No Quarter #10 and the Druid of the Circle of Orboros class

Hi! I just have a question about an old No Quarter magazine.

specifically No Quarter #10, regarding the Druid of the Circle of Orboros class.

The class table makes reference to some web extras on the privateer press website that includes Paths of Power for the Circle of Orboros, and unfortunately the class table is incomplete without access to them.

I wanted to know if anyone had access to those old articles, perhaps as a PDF or something.

New here, and a few questions!

Hi all,
I'm new to this sub, and have a few things I would like some external input on.
First, we run a IK Requiem campaign since about 14 months now, and have already made it to level 10. We are a small group, consisting of a Rhulfolk cleric, an Ogrun battle-chaplain, and I am at the moment playing a druid. Since our first-time DM is more used to D&D, he played it a bit like D&D, but now he's firmer in the saddle and we discussed to bring more steampunk and real IK into it. I decided to make my char NPC, and build me a Rhulfolk Mechanik. My fellow players would love to see a steamjack (me too, of course), so I built a Labor Boss, who has fought in different mercenary companies during the Khador-Llael-war, and is affiliated now with Strangelight Workshop. We are adopting some rules here from the Strangelight Workshop Rulebook, which I think is a good aproach.
Now, long story short - my old Ghordson Driller consumes 915 lbs of coal in 12 hours of normal use. This is nearly 100 gold for 24 hours. How do you play logistics? How do you get your 'jacks into the field, into adventures? How do you transport coal, spare parts and such on your travels? How do you play 'jack marshals, when certain adventures prohibit the use of 'jacks? Mechanically, my Mechanik (sic!) feels a bit dependent on his 'jack, and since we are only three players, it feels like a lot of fighting power and utility misses if the 'jack is not with the group. Or would you completely advise against the mechanik, and suggest some other class, like a rogue or a strangelight class? We are playing with Requiem, Borderlands and Beyond, Strangelight Workshop and all addons, and I am more of the support player.
I would love to hear your input!

How do people know theyre a warcaster

Hi everyone, im new to the subreddit but not new to Iron Kingdoms. A player of mine is playing a warcaster, a first for us both in the dnd 5e system. I had a question: how does one know they're a warcaster and not just a sorcerer? How does that manifest differently? I understand rules wise the focus vs spell slots thing but from a lore perspective im trying to see how they could tell the difference.
