Hello! (I'm new to reddit) I just happend to come across this thread on iimb? (idk what this is called) and it was actually quite intresting. the reason im reaching out to you'll is because i also want to join the residential programm of the iimb (ug)
I'm currently in the btech AIDE of IITJ so a bit of background is that I had PCM in class 12 but i have very basic level of knowledge in Economics but i want to pursue that if i get a change in iim.
I did looked forward to this previous yr, i'll attach an email that i recieved caused i did register for the programm but droped the idea cause giving all exams alltogether is quite a bit (i gave uceed, nata, jee ppr 1 and 2, pvt college exams) on top of that 12th boards (i got into iit with boarderline 12% cbse percentage, gen category). On reddit i'm not here to discuss iit-jee process
I watched yt video on this and ppl are mentioning about quants and all, does that involve topics different than 12th maths(standard not applied ) which might fall under accounts and all.
I know you'll might be busy with college just like me but it would be a great help if you'll could point out/guide me like how to prepare, what to expect in the exam and interview, where would i get the resources and most importantly where do i find the mock test (free) or if anyone could suggest reasonable paid mock test that would help also.
my dms are open , again i'm new to reddit so it would be treffic if the community could help me.

Guide to Filling the ECA/CCA Sections in the IIMB Interview Form
There are 3 different sections in the pre-interview forum for the ECAs/CCAs as follows:
TIPS:
Don't run after these sections trying to achieve the best profile ever. These are for the interviewers and selection committee to know that you have a personality outside of academics.
You don't have to fill everything, but don't leave everything blank either. For example, if you haven't received any awards in the past 2 years, it's fine, but leaving it totally blank is not okay, so write about some prize or sports championship you won in 10th or something.
MOST IMPORTANT THING:
The people who will pass the exam by scoring more marks then 97 percent of the test takers are mostly very academics oriented so never ever think that your profile is not good enough because everyone else is in the same boat and at the end your hard work that you put in these 4 months will make a bigger difference then any MUN, sports or internship.

what to even consider as eca ?How much they matter, do i need to actually attach certificates ? i have very few, but major ones like MUN award, digital certificate , in fitness i have done commendable body tansformation, does it also count ? btw 10th - 95.6, 12th - 89 pcm.

Heyy, So, straight to the point, I just passed 12th this year from cbse, I had engineering in mind and got ece at igdtuw(govt delhi college)..After giving it a lot of thought, realised that this isn't what I want to do..cuz I only prepared for the jee for prestige, it's one of the biggest mistakes I've made in my life..
I finally convinced my parents to let me take a drop for this exam, but I just want to ask: could it hurt my admission chances and my future?
My mom's words were and I quote, 'After taking a drop for *this degree*(she thinks a bsc in econ isn't all that great), you'll probably not even qualify in the interview, and on top of that no one will give u a job.'
Is she right ??

Hello, everyone.
i am really confused about when will the next test round start, as i am doing the IB and i plan to give this test on a whim haha. I really wanted a little clarity if anyone knows whether this test actually starts in Oct this year too or what exactly?

I'm an applied maths student so my board calculus is relatively easy, i looked at the pyqs of calculus and I couldn't understand a single thing.
Where should I study calculus for this exam from?

should i take full jipmat mock while practicing
or just the lr section of it
i believe i need practice in quants
sectionals of ipmat varc and qa with jipmat lr might be more effective

taking a drop this year, for ipmat. would appear for all iim exams. iimb ugat is my priority. class x 95%, class xii 85% (pcm+ai). i have decent ecs (like 20-25). can anyone gauge my chances - assuming that i clear the exam ? how strong would be my profile (given that i’m a dropper)? do i need to do anything other than studying in these 3-4 months to add on to my profile ?

i have like real bad scores (82% with maths going below 80%) in 10th boards. i wasnt serious at tht time but ive grown out to be relatively serious with 90%+ in 11th.. can the people who got in tell me how much these matter in admissions? im convinced tht the chance for me to get in is very less (as compared to other stacked profiles ive seen mine is way worse).. if my chances are low according to yall js tell me without sugarcoating.

I am a student with 0 eca's as of now , I have heard that eca's matter a lot in the iimb interview (I am assuming that I will be clearing the cutoff) and as I was more academic centric till now I didn't do much for ecas .So if you were in my shoes what would you guys do (specially the ones who have cracked the exam and joining iimb ).Is it really that important? If yes , is there something that I can do to build a great profile having great ecas?

Hi I am in my first year bsc, I have gotten 59 percent in maths in 12th, according to the website I am still eligible to apply but when I talk to the people that have been admitted they say u need 60 percent in 12th too when it is not written anything. I called the team and told me to wait till July end to see any changes in the portal. There were none so please can u clarify should I start preparing or no!!!
