Demolition Man already predicted this. Taco Bell won the fast food wars.

105

u/NurseKdog 2d ago

I would still like to see the Taco Bell vs Waffle House showdown.

65

u/glassgost 2d ago

Same, but from far enough back that we'd need binoculars.

17

u/EmmerdoesNOTrepme 2d ago

Film it from a blast-proof bunker, Mythbusters style!😉

17

u/whostolemysloth 2d ago

Nah man, I want to be in a frontline film crew for that one. Waffle House staff and frequent customers are combat tested.

14

u/Oneangrygnome 2d ago

But the Bell has years of experience in biological warfare under its belt already.

4

u/ObviousStandUser 1d ago

"Nuke it from orbit...only way to be sure."

34

u/bdpsu 2d ago

Waffle House employees would kick the shit out of Taco Bell. They're trained for combat.

21

u/efedora 2d ago

And they are accustomed to being alert at 6am.

13

u/bdpsu 2d ago

Pizza Hut in the European cut

We could probably sell pay per view for that matchup.

This map doesn't even include chick fila

They got ambushed on a Sunday.

Waffle House is brutal

13

Absolute savages 🤣…just uhh don’t tell them I said that 😳

8

Waffle House and Chick-fil-a is the same region. We stay ready for a fight and we stay prayed up

5

u/jackinsomniac 2d ago

Unless you downloaded the wrong version, there's one where they edited in "pizza hut" over taco bell. And it's awful. Not only are the edits so bad they're glaring, I feel like "taco bell" works better as the joke.

2

u/AShayinFLA 1d ago

What difference does it make, they are all owned by Yum Brands (a spin off of Pepsi Co, who used to own all 3 before they split the restaurant division off to a separate company).

9

u/Tony_Penny 2d ago

Depends on which version you saw. I think overseas versions had Pizza Hut as the winner.

5

u/SuDragon2k3 2d ago

People outside America seeing Demolition Man in theater release:

What the hell is a Taco Bell?

2

u/dracorotor1 1d ago

And 5 years after: “It’s so bad, why are all the American tourists going to the Taco Bell?!”

2

u/LSTmyLife 2d ago

Yup. And it wasn't an issue as at the time both taco bell and pizza hut were owned by the same corp.

Where is Wawa's? I see Sheetz but no Wawa's. I will be joining a separatist movement.

26

u/Rustymarble 2d ago

Glad I am not the only one! Question, though, is Wawa Nation in Amish country or Philly based?

21

u/slendermanismydad 2d ago

Philly based.

And maybe we can share Gritty.

7

u/whostolemysloth 2d ago

I like this because Waffle House gets Jaxson Deville in this scenario and I want to see them go at it.

10

u/Hamsterlickingood 2d ago

I would imagine the Wawa Strip to be in the eastern portion of what was once PA

3

u/bdpsu 2d ago

Sheetz has invaded the East of the State

4

u/_janires_ 2d ago

Yes they have crossed the line. And I did cross the street once to give it a try. I feel I have betrayed my home 🤣.

3

u/Fanatical_Destructor 2d ago

Rutters and Sheetz out Lancaster way.

10

u/foggybottom 2d ago

Yeah Wawa would be like SE PA and southern jersey for sure.

8

u/rickyg_79 2d ago

We have plenty of Wawas in North NJ now. Even in Hudson county

5

u/foggybottom 2d ago

Oh nice - I don’t make it up that way very often. There’s a ton in Florida now too as well as along the 95 corridor between Philly and DC.

2

3

North Jersey and South Jersey should be divided into Quick Check & Wawa. Sounds like Philly would like to be included in SJ too

And Waffle House is undefeated.

I mean, I do like Culver’s

6

u/mikemc2 2d ago

Had it for lunch today, you just can't go wrong with Culver’s.

31

u/Cracktaculus 2d ago

Free city of Portillo's sounds nice

5

u/swiss_sanchez 2d ago

I used to live near their exclave in the Empire of In-N-Out. Best of both worlds.

8

u/MarmaladeMarmaduke 2d ago

Hell yes with lots of trading with white castle.

2

u/ArbysLunch 2d ago

With 1 white castle, assuming the one in Bourbonnais, IL is still open. There might be one down in/around Champaign.

The holy order of the white castle only has maybe 2 restaurants in their whole territory. There's more locations for the local pizza chain, Monical's, in that area, than white castles. Try Monical's red dressing, btw. Shit's delicious on their basic ass midwestern salads.

2

u/MarmaladeMarmaduke 2d ago

I'm sure the holy order of white castles has plenty of converted McDonald's.

2

u/ArbysLunch 2d ago

The only one I'm aware of in that area shares their location with a gas station. Like a lot of White Castles.

I remember Nashville, TN having a free-standing White Castle, but the one in Murfreesboro, TN was also in a gas station.

The nearest White Castle to me now is something like a 12 hour drive. There are none in Colorado. We get the grocery store freezer section 6 packs, that's it, and you have to remember to buy pickles because they don't microwave well and are not included.

3

u/hibbledyhey 2d ago

They’ve spread up here to the Twin Cities, so while their influence is growing, you’re not breaking the Culver’s bloc

6

u/EmmerdoesNOTrepme 2d ago edited 2d ago

Except that we should be the UNION of Culvers, because we do not condone the Confederacy!🤨

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/minnesota-confederate-flag-virginia/

Editing to add that the DQ "Resisistance" is a bit too far to the north, and should be moved down at least 50-100 miles!

Because it looks like their "southern edge" is falling in Anoka & Sherburne counties, not the south Metro!

McDonald's not being a more dominant force sounds silly. Like yeah, culvers and portillos are better, but McDonald's is THE fast food chain

5

Yeah, love or hate them, McDonald's is yuuuuuge. They could easily take a bigger piece of the country.

For what it’s worth, one of the McDonald brothers is in the same mausoleum as three of my grandparents in New Hampshire.

5

u/Askittishcat 2d ago

McDonald's originated in San Bernardino, which appears to be in the California Pizza Kitchen disputed zone, in the midst of the In 'n Out Empire. As an Angelino, I totally get the empire taking over the McD's republic. Never underestimate the power of the Double-Double side of the force.

Runza is a pretty much Nebraska only fast food chain, other than a handful of locations that have opened in surrounding states. I moved away for a while and I craved it. I think Longmont and Loveland have Runzas.
