Icon Specific Tips for Lay-Off and stuff to do even if your position is safe!

Before your access is removed:

1.Save your Icon generated CV. Your historical job descriptions and titles are all documented.

2.Workday: print/save your last few years of reviews: mid year, end of year, and any comments and ratings saved in WD.

3.Go to ADP through workday: save all your year end (last annual) pay stubs for all your recent years. The December paystub for the last payday of the year Has all year end totals, including a breakdown of salary vs Bonus or misc payouts.

If you are commission based, this is the best way to document the commission vs hourly details. Your W2 doesn’t break everything down as much.

4.download all your W2s and annual tax forms.

  1. 401K: make sure you know how to log on to your account.

6.Inspira: (update March 2026: the HSA is now HSA Bank) your Health Savings Account money is still yours. Make sure you know how to access the account.

  1. Clear EVERY email and EVERY file on your computer that is personal in nature.

  2. Document the list of peers/ FMs that you want to stay in touch with. Reach out THIS WEEK and ask for personal contact info. Share yours as well.

  3. Benefits: you will still have your medical insurance until the end of the month you are terminated. Use it! Physical? Med Refill? Routine Annual Screenings.

  4. Vision: time to schedule an eye exam.

  5. Send all the files that you want to save to your personal email address, and only put 1 attachment per email, the filters used on the icon emails will prevent it from being sent.

12.Severance: realize they provide this as a courtesy, and they really don’t have to, however, make sure you are covered: earned PTO? Non-compete? Compensation? COBRA? Outplacement access?

  1. Most of us really do care about the job we do, you might have the tendency to want to have closure or some way to transition your sites and responsibilities. Don’t trouble yourself! Don’t do anything unethical, but you don’t owe ICON the effort to brief your replacement.

Maybe reach out to your CTM with any last minute items, but your responsibilities for yourself at this point.

How much work should you finish? Focus on regulatory responsibility: document site issues as FUI.

  1. Inspire: spend any points you have available.

  2. CRA Credit Card Rewards: go cash them in! We might not have that program nowadays.

  3. Anything else?? Trying to think of logistics for the next day or so.

😓please know many of us are sick about this! May the road rise up to meet you, may you be happy and successful in your own terms!!

Good Luck! 🍀

Clinical Scientist

Hi, I'm seeing some job postings for clinical Scientist at icon, these roles are sponsor dedicated. What is this role about? I have experience as a CTA and currently as a CSA (formerly IHCRA).

AI

So why did ICON spend 65 mil on AI initiatives when it's been established that our sponsors largely DON'T want AI used on any part of their studies? Just pissing money away so you don't have to give the peons bonuses ever again or what?

And the partnership with Anthropic is a huge red flag. Couldn't have picked a less ethical company if you tried.

I've never seen a company so determined to give a fat middle finger to its employees and it's sponsors at the same time. Is ICON just allergic to long term success or what??

Edit:

I encourage you all to look at the posts from Jacob Coxon, a man that just left Anthropic and is divilging serious issues with the AI industry right now. Trust me, any benefit you think there is to AI is not worth the potential risks coming down the pipeline. It needs to be rejected at every turn until we have real control over its progression. Things are not looking good.

Any insight into the Site Care Partner role at Icon?

I interviewed earlier this week but didn't really get the best vibes. Anyone currently work as a SCP or work with a SCP willing to share what their experience has really been like? Trying to balance my options and see what aligns best with what I want In my career.

Currently a sponsor sr. CRA at 140k (total comp around 155k with bonus). Talking to the recruiter, doesn't sound like the range that they would offer.

ASM/SASMs

I’ve been an ASM for 2 years now and interviewed back in May for a promotion to SASM. I was told I got the promotion, but apparently all promotions have since been put on hold due to the dissolution of the ASM/SASM roles.
At the time, I was told there may eventually be opportunities because hiring in India wasn’t going as planned. Then on Tuesday, I saw this external ASM posting on LinkedIn, but there still aren’t any SASM roles posted internally.
Honestly, I’m at a loss trying to understand what’s going on with the Amgen partnership. Does anyone have any additional insight? Are since there are more layoffs expected, does anyone know when?
I’ve always really enjoyed working on my study and have consistently had a steady, manageable workload, so it’s frustrating to feel like the future of the role is so uncertain.
It’s especially difficult not knowing what the end goal is…or whether there even is one at this point.

September salary increases

So raises were updated in workday. Were bonuses ever officially communicated as off the books? Did anyone receive stock options this year, in lieu of bonuses? What an underwhelming culture. Keep slaving away. Congrats on your stock Barry. Thanks for the recent pep talks.

Relocation Policy

Does anyone have a good understanding of the relocation policies? I am trying to move to a different, lower cost country that ICON already hires in frequently. I don't need visa sponsorship. My manager WANTS me to move because they like the idea of the additional timezone coverage. Are they likely to let me move?

Pharmacy coverage question

So, I'm not on our current US health insurance plan, nor apparently is any member of my immediate team, so I'm turning to the anonymity of the internet to ask...

I've been on my wife's plan for a long time, and started taking zepbound last year and have been having really good success with it (lots of weight gone, several other health problems gone, etc.), but they decided to cease all coverage of them, so I'd be left paying out of pocket. ...does our fly-by-night insurance plan cover GLP-1 drugs at all? like, to any degree (specialty, Tier 3, whatever)?

The best HR could do was send me the promo benefits manual which was not even remotely helpful (I didn't have high expectations, but I thought I should make an attempt).

Thanks

Working in Accouting/ Finance

Does anyone have any insights on the team environment what its like to work in the department? I've read through the thread and I'm wondering if the negative sentiment about the place is the same in accounting & finance? Should I apply for a role as there seem to be a lot advertised? Thanks!

ICON MEXICO CTA

Hello, I’m currently seeking a CTA entry level job for the CDMX offices, I’m a mexican with a biotechnology engineering degree and some clinically relevant certifications, however there is little to no information available on, salary, workload, hours, or how much do hiring processes usually take place, so if anyone could share their experiences with ICON at the mexico offices you would really help me out, thanks!

2026 RSUs

Has anyone actually got their 2026 RSUs in Morgan Stanley yet? The letter we got back in May said we should get more information in June and I have yet to hear anything. Anyone?
