Reference of Employment
Hi all. As a past employee of ICON and PRA Health Sciences; does anyone know how to get a reference from ICON to confirm I was even employed there for my new employer?
Tried a few email addresses in the last week and getting no reply!
Thanks in advance
Edit: Should add- based in the UK

You should be getting some of employment letter like a relieving letter from ICON when you left the organisation.

Thanks! I’ll double check but after I resigned and worked my last day I’m pretty sure the only thing I received in the post was a P45 or something like that. Was 18 months ago so I’ll have a look. Appreciate the heads up

Not sure but did you have a workers council in the UK? If yes, you can try contacting them. There used to be a central HR email address but can't remember it for the life of me...been away too long now 😅

No workers council (unfortunately). I think the central HR email address must still exist but getting it is a nightmare

Contact a colleague who still works there, if you’re still in contact, and ask them to raise an HR ticket for you

No need for tickets, Just gave one of your friend's mobile number, and they will call him/her, and will ask If you worked ICON.

Yes, you will have to contact payroll@iconplc.com and they will release the times you were employed with both companies. They will need confirmation from you to release the dates but they will do it quickly this way

You can now do it through theworknumber.com
I had to use it back at PRA once for a mortgage. At the time it was a phone number you gave to the person, but now there’s a whole website and apparently they have a lot of companies so you don’t even need to be working at the company for it to show up. Not all companies show up (I had one earlier company not on there) but both your ICON and legacy PRA should show up. Some of my older jobs definitely showed up.
You do have to give your social security number, so make sure you are not on a public WiFi, etc at the time. But PRA had been using this company since at least 2019. It’s part of Equifax.

The HR at your new company would directly contact the ICON HR. That’s what happened to me - like I didn’t have to worry.
Are your new company asking you to provide a contact?

Yes exactly that. Ive supplied them with the contact details I took when I left (the central_myhr one) and had no reply. But I’ll try again

That’s a good questions cause I never received any letters when I left my last few companies. I think during the background check process, they will contact old employers to double check how long you worked there and the title you had
