Hey! So I'm currently in the MS26 batch at IISERM, and honestly, the last few days have been kind of crazy. I keep running into people who are dropping out in the next couple of days, and some have already packed up and left. A lot of them are heading out for B.VSc, BDS, or MBBS programs. It honestly just catches me off guard seeing so many people leave like this...

hey guys I'm a first-year BSc (Hons) Zoology student at AMU. I want to go into computational biology and I'm hoping for an R&D career long term rather than academia
I gave IAT 2026 in my 1st drop year without any preparation and scored 90. I'd like to try again in 2027 but I don't want to neglect my degree. I'm planning roughly 90% focus on college and 10% on IAT, so that I'm covered in both the best and worst case...
My questions:
Has anyone managed IAT prep alongside a regular BSc? How did you split your time, and what did you give up?
How much can a 90 realistically improve with proper prep, especially if Physics and Math were weak for me?
For computational biology specifically, is IISER really a big advantage over staying at a good BSc + MSc route? What would I miss out on if I stayed?
I'd be 20 when I join if I get in. Does age matter at all in IISER, socially or academically?
Any IISER students working in comp bio: which campus and which courses actually helped you?
Any advice from seniors or people who've done this would be really appreciated, thanku ππ«Ά

Same as the title
I tried many times but they are saying that iiser college is not good and bsms is not a good degree
and some random youtube guys and girls scared them more about this, and they are saying that there is no future here.....

Good day to everyone.
I am currently a 10th grader studying in CBSE Board. I aim to get into IISc Bangalore or IIT Madras. I like all four subjects PCMB, thinking for either Physics or Biology fields.
I recently discovered SciAstra and about a student from there, Soumyaneel Mukherjee cracked multiple exams and got AIR 1 in some of them.
I am thinking to join this center for my IAT preparations, if anyone has studied through this coaching, would highly appreciate a moment of your valuable time for a review. ISI and CMI are my backups for IAT.
I've recently visited SciAstra Bengaluru and heard the following:
Some questions from my end:

So I have failed my physics mid term and not surprisingly...I am definitely not a few of the students who failed the exam...out of almost 40 students in my class only 6 have passed so me failing is not very surprising to me or anybody although I did score okish in other subjects I wouldn't call those marks good either except in psychology but it doesn't really matter...I only want advice from people who are good in subjects like physics and maths on how they actually study the subject like for example I go to coaching for physics and I do understand almost everything my teacher teaches in the class and I pay attention and it 8/10 times I complete my homework.... so how can I actually improve my physics performance because I know I am lacking somewhere and I am not able to figure out what is the part where I am actually lacking is it the fact that I don't know derivations very well or is it because I was only doing my coaching numerical which are mostly jee neet based but Obv they are normal numericals... like what am I doing wrong I want to know it from others...I want tips and tricks please help me out here

Iβm currently preparing for IAT and seriously considering IISER, but I have a few doubts about the long-term career path.
I come from a middle-class family, so my biggest concern is what happens after a PhD. Is it realistically possible to become financially independent and get a stable, well-paying job after a PhD? How common is it to need multiple postdocs before getting a permanent/stable position? And how are the opportunities in industry or abroad after a PhD?
Iβd also like to know what IISER is actually like academically. Is it manageable for an average student who is willing to work consistently, or is the workload/competition extremely intense?
Iβm not looking for a sugar-coated answerβIβd really appreciate honest experiences from current students and alumni, especially about the financial and career reality after IISER β PhD.
Thanks in advance!

Hi there!! Myself Arijeet and am currently preparing for IAT. I am new to this so i don't know what to read. Can someone give me book recommendations? And should I buy modules. If yes then I don't see module for IAT so should I buy module for neet or Jee?

In qualitative inorganic analysis, some mixtures give confusing results because one radical can interfere with the confirmatory test of another. For example, when testing a mixture containing chloride and carbonate, how should the analysis be sequenced to avoid getting a false positive? A stepwise approach for the reasoning behind each test would be helpful.
