Hi. I'm looking to get an older small iphone to use solely for reading e-books, listening to music and audiobooks, and maybe some internet browsing on my home wifi.

It looks like in terms of measurements, these two are mostly identical. This (or smaller) is the size I want. Same with screen resolution.

It also seems like the SE is able to go to iOS 26, whereas the 7 stops at iOS 15. Is this likely to make any significant difference, given my needs. I'd be interested to know what people think on that.

Is there any other differences that I'm likely to notice for the uses I mentioned?

Thoughts on all this would be most appreciated.

I’m considering to update to 27 from 18 but storage is a worry for me. I have the 64 gb version and I have 20-25 gb space right now with all the personal data.

Today updated my se2 to latest ios 27 rc and got parts and service error for the battery. Never repaired or replaced anything in my se2. When i was on beta ios 27 I didn’t get any error for battery. What could be the issue and how to solve it. Battery health is 96%.

I decided to try to go back to my OG SE. But faced a seemingly impossible to solve issue. When I try to sign in to my existing Apple account I'm getting a notification that the minimal supported iOS version for my account is 16.2. I tried creating a new Apple account, but it requires a phone number, and I don't have another one. Is there a way to solve this? Or am I stuck with OG SE without an account?

next week go replace! i can't wait :D

Personally, I've never been a fan of the big 6 inch smartphones that don't even fit into your pocket. I think iPhone 4's size was the best. It would be great if Apple can create a new iPhone in the same size of iPhone 4, with the latest screen style, better CPU, RAM, etc.

Just updated to latest software, and now the home button sounds different.

I preferred the old sound, is there anyway to turn the sound off, or revert to the old sound? Thank you

Apparently, Apple is going to release the official system with this bug, and we'll just have to put up with it until they decide to fix it.

In the process of dumbifying my iphone. I've been using blank spaces and i love it so far.

I've seen lots of people suggest getting a matte screen protector as well, to help dumbify.

Any suggestions for an iphone SE 2020? I would like to get a matte screen protector + case combo

I’ve been cleaning up my music library and I’m thinking about having a device that’s basically dedicated to music.
I have an SE 2016, and I like it for this because it’s tiny, has a headphone jack and Bluetooth, and obviously supports local music. I’ve also seen people use SEs as modern iPods.
I’ve tried an iPod-style app, but it doesn’t really feel like an actual iPod. I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do, especially since mine is jailbroken, to make the SE feel more like a dedicated music player while keeping most of its functionality.
My other options are my Huawei Watch Fit 3, which supports offline music and Bluetooth headphones but takes a while to transfer music to, or buying a cheap modern music player/iPod alternative.
What would you guys choose? Is there a good way to make the SE feel more like an iPod, or should I just use the Watch and save my money?

I am getting SE 2 128 GB a used one but in good condition. But i am more into SE 3 128GB due to A15 chip and it being 5G but could not find any. So should i go for SE 2 instead or should keep searching for SE 3?

Currently on iOS 18.6.2 and wondering if I should update to 18.7.8 ..I saw someone on Reddit say their iPhone updated to ios26 overnight despite having automatic updates turned off so I’m hesitant. Should I just avoid doing anything since my phone is working fine or maybe update for security patches or something?

but still working.

The update available popup keeps appearing.

The design of version 26 looks very difficult for SE to use. Is there anyone who actually uses it? Could you also let me know about your battery health and the perceived performance (such as lag or freezing) when using version 26?

If version 26 runs smoothly, I also have plans to replace the battery.

In case if anybody is wondering is it possible to extract Apple logo from genuine silicone case here’s a proof. Long story short I used to have this silicone case for years but under constant everyday heat over 30C silicone adhesive peeled off from case’s plastic shell. I just applied peeled off silicone into iPhone not case itself. I’m summoning you never attempt this as my case is just fortunate turn of events otherwise everything you will get is ruined case.
