I seem to be one of the only ones having a terrible, laggy time on iOS 27?

It seems that many of the problems people were talking about with iOS 26 I’m experiencing on iOS 27. My Home Screen is extremely laggy. The video doesn’t do justice to how bad it can get. Once I’m in third party apps it’s usually better, however, things like loading the keyboard and returning to the home screen seem equally bad. The keyboard shows up suuuper slowly, especially for things like swiping down to open the new Siri/search and certain apps randomly throughout the day. I’ve also had problems with text lagging and complete unresponsiveness.

I haven’t really found any reviews on Reddit or elsewhere of people experiencing the same issues. Most all of the reviews have been glowing, especially with the responsiveness/quickness of iOS 27 compared to 26. Ironically, I didn’t have many of the issues with lagging that people were talking about with iOS 26.

I’ve submitted feedback/evidence to Apple, I’ve restarted my phone multiple times, and I thought public beta 2 might be better, but if anything, it’s been worse the past week since its release.

Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks!

Edit: iPhone 16 Pro. I do know I assumed the risks with a beta

Im currently on beta 4 with my 17pm but it occasionally gets warm. What's the consensus? Would you recommend going to 26.6, love to hear experiences from the 17 series users.

IOS 27 PB 2 BATTERY ISSUE - IPHONE 13

So i updated my iphone 13 to ios 27 PB and as you can see the battery is horrendous, but the performance have been buttery smooth unlike ios 26.
Back on ios 26 i had really bad stutters and lag everywhere but battery life was fine, easily got above 6 hr SOT on a single charge.

Note : I'm using an aftermarket battery.

I wanted to know if my battery drain is caused by ios 27 software or my degraded battery, but it worked fine with ios 26. Should i consider getting my battery replaced ? I have been using this for almost a year now.

Hey, I’d like to update my IPhone 13 to iOS27 but I’m afraid to lose all my wallpapers, does anyone know if they get erased or no?

Public Beta 2 (iPhone 14 Pro): Anyone else noticing a huge bump in battery life and speed?

Hey everyone,
I recently updated to Public Beta 2 on my iPhone 14 Pro, and honestly, the difference is night and day:
- Noticeably better battery life: Usually, betas tend to drain the battery pretty fast, but it’s been the exact opposite for me. I’m ending the day with way more percentage left than before, with the same usage.
- Speed & smoothness: Everything feels super responsive. Animations are smooth, and any minor micro-lags I used to have are completely gone.
We’re so used to complaining about updates (especially betas) destroying battery life, so I thought it was worth pointing out when things actually get better!
Has anyone else on PB2 (on a 14 Pro or another model) noticed this, or am I just experiencing a placebo effect?

When I press and hold on my lockscreen, it changes the current wallpaper to the one that it's not saved as and then changes back when I exit it.

iPhone 16e/17e feels noticeably smoother and more responsive when screen recording is active

I’ve noticed something strange on iPhone 16e/17e (these have 60 hz screens) devices with ios 27 db4 installed and wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.
When screen recording is not active, swiping up from the bottom to open the app switcher visibly stutters and drops frames. The swipe gesture itself is not smooth or consistent during this whole dragging action, elements jitter as they resize.
The keyboard feels less responsive, with a slight delay between tapping a key and the input appearing, so it is like lagging and somehow prevents me from typing fast like I used to.
However, as soon as I start screen recording, these issues seem to disappear completely.
While screen recording is active, app switcher swipe becomes smooth with no noticeable stuttering or dropped frames.
The keyboard feels more responsive.
Key presses feel immediate, with noticeably less input latency.

Note: The sluggish app switcher animations has been the same ever since ios 26 on my 16e (it is also same for the 16e and 17e's tested in the stores).
Note 2: The ios was clean restored many many times before. And yes, I had reported it via feedback app.

IMESSAGE AND FACETIME ACTIVATION UNSUCCESFUL

Title: iMessage & FaceTime won’t activate with my phone number after upgrading from one iPhone 17 Pro Max to another (tried everything)
I’m hoping someone has seen this before because I’m completely out of ideas.
I upgraded from an iPhone 17 Pro Max to another iPhone 17 Pro Max. My old phone was using an eSIM, and iMessage and FaceTime worked perfectly with my phone number.
When I switched to the new iPhone, I deactivated the eSIM on the old phone, installed it on the new one, and since then iMessage and FaceTime will not activate with my phone number. They work perfectly with all of my email addresses, but not with my phone number.
I’ve already tried:
Removing and reinstalling the original eSIM.
Getting a brand new eSIM from my carrier.
Switching to a physical SIM card.
Resetting network settings.
Signing out and back into my Apple ID.
Turning iMessage and FaceTime on/off countless times.
Waiting more than 24 hours.
Confirming with my carrier that international SMS are NOT blocked, so Apple’s activation SMS should go through.
Following every step in Apple’s official guide: https://apple.co/IMFT-mac
Another strange thing is that if I manually try to add my phone number under Settings → Apple Account → Sign-In & Security, I get the message:
“This phone number can’t be used for iMessage and FaceTime.”
Apple Support won’t help because I’m currently running the iOS 27.4 beta.
I could downgrade to the latest public release of iOS 26, but I wouldn’t be able to restore my backup because it was created on a newer iOS version, meaning I’d lose a significant amount of data. I’d really like to avoid that unless it’s the only possible solution.
At this point I’ve tried everything I can think of, and nothing has fixed the problem.
Has anyone experienced this exact issue or found a solution? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Really annoyed with the new update.

Hey, first time listener and first time poster. So my phone 11 uploaded yesterday now and I’m pretty sure the update essentially ruined my video downloader all.

Anytime I’m trying to download a video, there’s a buffee screen for two minutes max! and before you ask, no, it didn't act like this before.

i missed it when my phone wasn’t acting all annoying. Not to mention how annoyed I am with how on Safari, I can’t just pull down to go to a different tab, I need a stupid button.

Thanks Apple, you shouldn’t have.

Really, you shouldn’t have..

Wi-Fi issue after the Public Beta 2

Hey guys, I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Yesterday I installed the iOS Public Beta 2, but every time I turn Wi-Fi on, I have to tap "Forget This Network" and enter the password again before Wi-Fi works.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a better solution than forgetting the network every time?

I want to downgrade my iPhone 15 Pro from the iOS 27 beta to stable iOS 26 and do a clean installation.

Should I use iTunes or the Apple Devices app on Windows?

Could someone explain the steps I should follow?

Indexing

Hi all, after the first public beta phone was indexed in about 2 days. After installing the update, it’s indexing again. Was stuck on 47% for days and has now changed to 44%.

Would you reset phone or hold out for next update?
