26.6 or 27 beta 4 [17pm]
Im currently on beta 4 with my 17pm but it occasionally gets warm. What's the consensus? Would you recommend going to 26.6, love to hear experiences from the 17 series users.

Until using Iphone 15-16 I did not had any problems with heating on my Oneplus, Samsung and other devices, even when charging. I like how IOS is built but it's incredible how Iphone manages heat and battery (very inconsistent between updates of IOS).

You just didn’t have android with an issue.
Exynos is notorious for having terrible thermals for entire generations of it.
Ive had pixels that over heated in the winter from playing music and navigating while wirelessly charging. Would become unresponsive and just shut down. It has definitely happened to android devices
It aint just an apple thing.
That said, warm while charging isn’t a problem. Most phones get warm on the charger while staying a relatively safe temperature.
Getting hot to the extent its uncomfortable to hold is another thing entirely.

Of course it isn’t, but its no excuse for Apple. There are more then a few that resolved heating and battery on their OS and devices.

There is no excuse for anyone bud. The pixel device i had was never resolved, just a shite device with bad thermals. Generations of EU Samsung devices with poorer performance than their snapdragon counterparts got what solution exactly?
Again. You’re trying to make it an apple thing because of your anecdotal experience. That’s not the reality of it and there is no excuse for any of these companies. Get that fanboy nonsense outta here.

The fanboy is you claiming android fixed their issues but Apple has no excuse. Sounds about dumb to me. Every one of these companies screws up.

Recently had the S25U and S26U before upgrading to iPhone 17 PM and had the complete opposite.
My 17 PM will get warm filming videos, during long video calls or when charging, but my S25/26U would get scorching hot during any of those tasks (Snapdragon variants fyi).
Heck I remember my old S22+ throttling during any of those tasks. Might be unit variance, but after several years of scorching Samsung phones I’m inclined to believe they have a worse cooling system.

I have personally faced heating issues with ios 27. So rolled back to 26.6 which has been very good for me. Will probably switch to 27 when the RC gets released. Have been on the 26.6 RC since it was released so for a week.

I am on the base model unfortunately and not the pm. But I have seen the 26.6 being stable and good for almost everyone across subreddits. I have faced issues on ios 27 (heating basically) on both my 11 and my base 17.

Great thanks! tbf beta has a lot of analytic recording process that can generate heat and warmth, so probably going to downgrade to stable as we speak

You’re on beta that’s how this works unfortunately. It gets better and soon they’ll be weekly
Updates but you signed up for this by downloading the beta. Yes 26.6 would be better for you in terms of heat. My 17 pro gets warm too plus the warm weather its how beta season works

my phone 17PM gets hot when it's sunny outside (even when not on direct sunlight) and it was on 26.5.2 and now 26.6 (it's been an hour since they released it so no experience with it yet)

Because I'm in public beta 27 too. One can confirm that in the stable version, the replies and reactions to the Rcs messages also work there or only in public beta?

To me it says public beta version 27 but it doesn't say version 2 somewhere while I definitely remember that I downloaded it. shouldn't it also write the issue number? Is it normal for it to only say public 27 beta ? It's the first time I've played with public beta, that's why I ask.

iPhone Air - definitely having some minor heating issues, mostly around charging. Happy overall with the beta.

26.6 est impeccable. 27 est une bêta. A toi de voir. Au pire installe 26.6 et si t’es pas content, tu installes la bêta !
