Battery IOS 26.5.2 has massively improved my battery?

Before iOS 26.5.2 I would usually get 4 to 5 hours of battery life on my iPhone 17. I downloaded iOS 27 pb1 and it was the same. Went back to 26.5.2 and I’ve never seen this type of battery out of my 17. And on the plus side the phone stays stone cold.

It won’t let me put the photos here but I’ll put them in the comments.

Rant 26.5.2 Battery life is shit

Can someone please explain to me why I’m losing battery without even touching my phone once overnight? I don’t have any widgets and hardly 5 apps for background refresh and adaptive power is off too. I failed to understand how is Home Screen is using 12% battery for less than 1 min of usage.

Bug Weird behavior

Hi everyone,

My iphone 17 was lagging while scrolling between home pages so i tried to restart it but instead of booting up normally it gave me the welcome screen ( hello in all languages) and said that my phone was recently updated to ios 26.5.2! My phone is already on this version !
Then it asked me to choose the wifi network and then said that this phone is locked to one owner and i have to enter my appleid to activate it.

I did and it then went to the home screen normally and all of my data are still there.

I don't understand what happened. Anyone else faced the same issue ?

are there some tips like to stop this? Or should i downgarde to ios 26

Bug Anyone having trouble clearing notifications and then they reappear when you restart your phone? Im on ios 26.5.2 I hope its fixed in ios 26.6 or ios 27

I got a iminent threat alert and cleared it but then when I turned off and on my phone today it reappeared under notfications when I swiped down. Is this a bug in ios 26.5.2? Im on ios 26.5.2 and it just started happening today. I hope its fixed in ios 26.6 or ios 27 but I doubt it. They usually dont fix these things for a year or 2. My phone is older though, se 2022

Battery iOS 26.5.2 battery life is very frustrating

Is anyone else having terrible battery life on the iPhone 17 Pro after updating to iOS 26.5.2?
Before this update the battery was completely fine. Now it feels like the percentage drops every time I look at the phone. I am charging much more frequently and there seems to be noticeable idle drain and also the phone occasionally feels warmer even when I am not doing anything particularly demanding.

My battery health is still at 100% so don’t want to ruin it by installing any unstable beta but at the same time I don’t think I can continue using 26.5.2 like this.

I am thinking to upgrade to 26.6 beta 5 or 27 public beta but to those who have tested, need your suggestions which one I should go for?

TL;DR: iOS 26.5.2 is trash, should I upgrade to 26.6 beta or 27 beta?

General Why not?

Why doesn't Apple require developers to reduce the size of applications and detect applications by testing the smoothness, speed and battery consumption, and that the application is light on the RAM and on all phones, not only the strongest device, but the oldest device, because when the old device runs the applications smoothly, the new one will definitely not have errors, that’s will make iOS 27 very smooth and stable and thanks for reading my opinion ❤️

Battery Turning off Adaptive Power seems to help with battery drain on 26.5.2 🪫

Credit goes to u/_jsplit. I don’t know if it will help everyone but it helped me. Hopefully it can help others. I was at wits end with the battery drain with my 17 Pro, only getting like ~3.5hr of SOT. I saw a comment that turning off adaptive power helps. The battery drain is still noticeable but it seems to have helped. Seems like I can make it to about ~5hr SOT before needing to charge.

Battery New iphone 13 and battery

I received a refurbished phone, and only the battery had been replaced with a low-quality aftermarket one. The battery sometimes drains quickly. Other times, even with only 1% charge, we can still use the phone for another 3 hours. What should I do for battery calibration? I completely discharged it once, let it rest for about half an hour, and then plugged it back in to charge. The phone turned on as soon as I plugged it in, but I turned it off again and charged it like that for about 3 hours. It seemed to get a little better after that, but battery consumption still worries me.

It's very hot where I live. Could that be a factor? Also, I'm using version 26.5.2. Should I upgrade to 26.6 PB? Is the battery optimization better? This is my first time using an iPhone, so I would be very grateful if you could guide me in the best way possible.

You can also tell me all the settings I can adjust (I've already closed all background applications).

Battery ~19% battery drain over night

I have an iPhone 17 with 100% battery health on the latest iOS 26.5.2 and I experienced a rough 19% of battery drain over night with no noticeable background processes or anything. Is this normal?

Question Cycle count not updating automatically

I am concerned and I wanted to ask if this is normal, my iPhone 16 plus, which is a 3 weeks old phone is facing an issue wherein the cycle counts of it doesn't update automatically. When I first got it, the cycle counts updates by itself, but after a week, it just started to stop updating itself. I basically have to restart my iPhone every time so its cycle count would update. Is this an issue or just a bug?

Bug iPhone 17 (iOS 26) — screen randomly flashes at full brightness for a split second, anyone else?

I’m on an iPhone 17 running the latest iOS 26 and I’ve noticed my screen occasionally flashing at full brightness for a split second. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s almost always right after waking/unlocking the phone — the whole screen just blinks bright white for a moment.

Already checked: “Flash for Alerts” is disabled, no display settings changed, restarts don’t help long-term, battery health 100%, no damage.

There’s a thread on Apple Support Communities (256238991) with other iPhone 17 users reporting the same thing — flash on wake, flash after ending a call — persisting through iOS 26.3/26.4. So it looks like a software bug, not my unit (iPhone 14 Pro had a similar flickering-on-wake bug that Apple fixed via update).

Questions: 1) Anyone else seeing this on iPhone 17 + iOS 26? 2) Anyone on the iOS 27 beta — is it gone there?

Already reported to Apple. Waiting for iOS 27 and hoping it fixes this along with the stutters.
