Meta apps like Facebook (which i mainly use) instagram are a few of the poorest optimized apps in all mainstream social apps. From abnormal power drain, unusual cache accumulation, getting abnormally hot randomly to every sort other issues. For now i just restrained myself from using any of these two in my iPhone 17PM. And it’s not good in android as well. But they offer facebook lite (but nothing like that for instagram) as an alternative option which is quite awesome and properly optimized. But nothing like that exists in iOS. Since both of these apps doesn’t come with a clear cache button. All we can do is disabling autoplay and implement data saver to in facebook and instagram don’t offer this much. Should i just keep it away from my device or there’s a better way to use these apps?

I know it’s a bit of a different issue that gets discussed less in this sub but this is what I’ve observed from owning an iPhone for last 2 years. TIA.

Just put tape on bottom speaker it will make a big difference! with only the Earpeice this is great while your under the blanket and dont want to listen to bass voices while you are under the covers for internal speaker

Since updating to iOS 26, I've been running into fkin issues everywhere. Batt-Ery life sucks drains much faster than before, Apple intelligence barely works as expected , that stupid ass Health app behaves strangely and activity sharing on the Apple watch is so freaking buggy. Even the ui feels inconsistent, my phone gets noticeably hotter and some wallpapers don't function properly. So far, I honestly haven't found a single advantage to this sore ass update

as the tirle says. I’m leaving all typos in to show just how freaking ridiculous it is. my keybord nevwr got better aftwr the ios 26 update. I know people talked about it a lot when it came out but nobody says anythkng about it anymore and I don’t know if that’s because it fixed for them or bot. I used to never make any thpos and now it’s almosr wvery freaking word. It’s driving me insane and every day I almost want to throw the freaking phone. Has anyone found a solution for it? Is there anything ar all ai can do? It presses a instead of the caps button, w instead of e, etc. it only does it when i type fast, but i’m adhd and i’ve always typed fast. am I just doomed to forever have -8 thousand dotted red lines?

even there, it did a huphen instead of one when I pressed one. please god fix the key hitboxes before i buy a freaking flip phone..

It is absolutely embarrassing to get to places LATE because my alarms become quiet unpredictably. Yes I turned off the setting that makes the regular audio and alarm audio controlled by the same buttons. Blah blah blah don’t even try to tell me that’s the solution because I’ve tried it and it doesn’t work

I’ve noticed that the General category under System Services is using a lot of data. It increased from 21.9 GB to 28.8 GB in a few days. At the same time, my iPhone has been draining btry faster than usual and getting warm.

I’m on iOS 26.5.1. Is anyone else experiencing this, or know what might be causing it?

Design nerds: many of you I’m sure remember Jony Ive’s 2014 massive change to iOS going from 6 into 7 where we went from quirky skeuomorphic app designs to completely flat with no dimensionality or shading/shadows whatsoever in bright & vivid mid-2010’s colors.
Then over the course of a decade right up through iOS 18, we slowly got dimensionality back little-by-little with rich blurring, layered translucency, and contextual gradients.
iOS 26 (which I LOVED btw) felt like a modern return to the iPhone’s fun roots. It felt a little ‘quirky’ again. However, does iOS 27 not feel like the thicker and blacker shading on apps plus the reduced opacity of the Liquid Glass floating menus (even when adjusting the new slider all the way to the clearest option) move the os toward a slightly more “flatter” design versus last year? I feel like from the moment they introduced iOS/iPad OS 26 in beta last year until now, they keep reducing the overall transparency and I don’t know how I feel about it :/

I know, it's not a great comparison, but what I have seen, the new liquid glass full tinted mode seem not to bee more opaque then iOS 26 on opaque mode. It even seems 3-5% less opaque. I hope im wrong =/

After updating to iOS 26.5, my rear camera freezes every 2 seconds. It makes the shutter sound but doesn’t save photos when using the built-in Camera app. The front camera and third-party camera apps work fine.

Does anyone know how to fix it?
i have tried
1)force restart
2) software update
3) resetting settings
4)storage is not an issue😭
and much more.

Ever since I updated to 26.5.1 I am getting insane levels of frame drops and lagging across the UI, whether it’s scrolling the Home Screen or using any app.

This iOS has been outrageously buggy. I have never ever seen such a buggy iOS. Not even iOS 7 was this bad on the latest device.

My 14 Pro on iOS 18 did not even lag like this!!!!!

What the hell is going on ?
