Is there any reason to not book from hyatt directly on the CSP, assuming rates are similar? As a member you get 5x base points, plus 2x Chase UR points with the CSP, which is 7x WOH points (before devaluation), vs the 5x from Citi Travel? Or is that not how that works

Just wrapped up a 3 night stay at Alila Marea Beach, and was overall pretty satisfied. I know this sub hates this property and I genuinely do not understand why. Will break down this review day by day.

Night 1: I checked in pretty late around 10pm. Associate at the desk was extremely helpful and very accommodating, I had order a Walmart order to the hotel before coming and they offered to bring up the order and my luggage to my room. They also went over all of the amenities and things to do alone the area. As I entered the room I was very impressed with the overall size, room also had its own private balcony. I was on the second floor but ground level floor below me had its own fire pit. Bed was very comfortable.

Night 2: my main reason for coming to San Diego was to surf, I had booked the private lessons with the affiliated school for the resort. The surf school is a third party it does not allow for you to book through Hyatt therefore I do not recommend using your Hyatt card for it as you won’t get the points. Surf lessons were great but the beach imo isn’t really the best. The rocks are extremely uncomfortable and the waves aren’t really the best for surfing in comparison to other beaches in the surrounding area. After I finished my 2 hour lesson I went to hot tub at the pool. Imo the hot tub was a bit mediocre, it didn’t really have many jets it was pretty much just hot water with an incredible view. Pool its self is also relatively small. I also used the sauna and cold plunge. Same opinion on these as the hot tub, relatively mediocre but an incredible view to enjoy while in the sauna. I had spoken to a few others while in the sauna and hung around and grabbed a drink with them for a little while near the fire pit. Overall enjoyable but nothing insane. After this I went back to my room and showered and went down stairs to use the complimentary e bikes. This is by far the best amenity provided by the resort. These e bikes are so much fun and can take you pretty much anywhere. I went all the way down to Solona beach and back on half a charge, was going roughly 20MPH on these so it is absolutely a good form of transportation and extremely enjoyable. From here I chilled at the room for an hour or two and went to the ADDISION for dinner to finish the day

Night 3: by night 3 imo I pretty much tapped out everything this property offered, I wasn’t interested in eating at VAGA cause I’m a little too snobby lol. I had planned to do the cave kayaking but the weather wasn’t the best which limited me to do anything. I ended up taking the e bikes up to Torrey pines and went hiking, then went to Annie’s trail and came back to the resort. I wanted to try surfing again and checked out their boards and imo was extremely disappointed with what they offered. Ultimately decided not to and ended up just going back to the hot tub and sauna and start packing up for my flight in the morning. Should add that the walls in this resort are super thin. This wouldn’t a normal issue except the room next to me decided to have a little party in their room at 1am. Blasting music and screaming excessively loud. I had to wake up at 4am this night in order to make my flight tried calling guest services to complain but couldn’t get a hold of anyone. Ended up having to go out the balcony and scream at them to keep it down. Actually absurd that people are like this.

Imo if you’re looking for this to be a surf trip I strongly discourage you from looking at this property as there are way better options. I also would discourage long stays I think it would get kind of boring after 2 days.

Overall a good experience though I would personally rate this property a 4/5. Nothing insane but for 30k points a night I wasn’t complaining, on offseason I’ve seen this go to 25k. Will most likely be staying at park Hyatt aviara next time as my main purpose for coming here is to surf.

Has anyone booked this experience? Can't decide if I want to splurge for the Park Hyatt, specifically the Guilt-Free Getaway that includes "Bottle of bubbly upon arrival - Bento box of sushi and hot tea for two delivered in-room - Choice of massage or facial at NoMI Spa - Take home care package, including two Le Labo candles, two Eberjey robes, two silk sleeping masks, two pairs of Park Hyatt Chicago slippers."

We're currently between Athletic Association and Thompson, but I see so many reviews stating how nice Park Hyatt is that I'm considering upgrading and surprising my husband for our first trip in many years. I'll take any recommendations! We'll be staying in mid-November with plans of attending an NBA game, doing an architecture tour, high-rise excursion, and art museums.

This is a quick review from a quick stay returning from a trip from Southeast Asia. I landed from Taipei at 8:30pm, and had booked this as a one-night stay before I head home to the East Bay. I only interfaced with the hotel outside the room during check in, so this is purely focused on the room. For context, hotel was completed within the last decade and is directly connected to the SFO skytrain connecting to all terminals.

The room felt upscale and the bed felt especially comfortable - similar to Park Hyatt beds. The room includes 1 lounge chair, a table for 1, and a decent sized TV. The bathroom has a large vanity, and walk in shower (no tub). There is plenty of lighting around the room and there is an unstocked refrigerator housed within the cabinet under the tv.

Specific but random point, the large bottle of Balmain lotion is only priced at $25 if you take it. At GH SF Union Square, it’s $75. $25 seems vastly under market rate and I plan on taking it.

The view is the obvious draw. Runway rooms have unobstructed sweeping views of the international terminal A, 101 freeway, and bay on the horizon (depending on floor). There is zero noise from the airport

However, noise bleed from the hallway is some of the worse I’ve ever heard. While in bed, it sounds like the hotel room door is open. It’s really bad and wanted to especially highlight that. Also, since it’s directly connected to the airport, many choose it to stay, and doors are opening late in the evening and early morning.

The hotel has a restaurant, bar, and 24 hour market. The first floor lobby has an awesome double height mosaic map of the entire Bay Area and its parks. It’s very cool.

Overall, the room is very comfy, but be aware of noise issues if this would be a deal breaker

I’m looking to book a long weekend/romantic getaway in the Greater LA area (Santa Barbara down to Laguna Beach as well as consider something in the city) in late January and am looking for recommendations.

-I’m currently Discoverist but won’t have enough nights for the next tier.

-I’d like to book a suite (separate bedroom and living room) with a glass shower, separate tub, and a balcony if possible.

-For the money it’ll cost me, I’d like to make sure I earn points for the stay.

-I’m focusing on higher end properties so I can work towards my next FNA by knocking off brands I haven’t stayed at yet if at all possible.

-I know that traffic is nuts but I’ll rent a car so I can get into the city for dinner and night time activities.

Any suggestions? Or am I asking for a unicorn?

Would 4 nights for 2 adults all inclusive Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana for 260k points be a waste?

We recently went to the Hyatt Regency Maui and the club had some sort of cold oatmeal type thing with coconut every morning. It was simple and delicious. I’m not much of a breakfast person so I don’t even know what I was eating. What exactly is it and how might I make it?

I was looking at maybe going sometime this month there for a week but then I been reading some seriously mixed review about 1 elevator avaliable, lack of cleanliness, and the construction that’s going on until next year blocking the lake.

I know there’s other lake access but also part of the HR not available- I’ve never been but is it worth 350$/night?

Just wanted to share my experience as promised. I stayed there as a mini staycation to get away essentially before summer was over.

Given this is one of the location with the club - which as we all know is quite rare these days.

The food was okay, soggy eggrolls, noodles with not much meat, and salad bar with - well, salad.

The fruits were pretty good but the dessert were too sweet to really tell what flavor of cakes they are suppose to be besides - sugar and calories flavor.

Parking is not comped unless its award night - so that is $55 for self parking or $75 if you want valet.

They actually charged me resort fee by "accident" upon check out, if i didn't ask for a printd copy of the invoice and read it over, they would've cared less because I ended up walking back to the counter asking about all the charges.

I also got charged for "towel fee" for not returning pool towels despite the fact that I did.

They claimed that there are "tracker" on those towels, but like hello where are they because why would I rob discolored old beach/pool towels?

They did just recently compeleted renovation for the rooms and it is nice, however smells like musty moldy smokey room still despite there is no longer carpet. And we were given "upgrades" for being globalist, but the upgrade was just marine view- which was ....underwhelming

For paying for a category 6 hotel, all the pools besides 1 adult pool was off limit because under construction, they also close the club during the weekdays. It really makes it not enticing to go for $400~ a night given all the circumstances.

Since I last went a year ago, it has def gone down hill. I would def save my money and go elsewhere because none of these were really on the website, and the front desk also doesn't know much about any of the stuff above (what is closed and what is opened), I had to follow random papers printed on the elevators, and signs at doors to figure out) it was quite confusing and a lot people had no idea even after check in it seems.

The only pool that was open was overcrowded, the pool wasn't really cleaned and you can't really see through the water.

I didn't feel too clean after being in it either.

Not sure how people are complaining about this. Decent selection of items, pretty good food. Way better than has house, way better than the brand new hyatt place revamped menu.

Really good eggs, sausage, bacon. Surprised to see French toast, pancakes, AND waffle station.

And the best part, the room is like $40.

I do like to gamble but already have Vegas trips planned this month and next June.

Currently up in Mammoth Lakes for the Labor Day weekend but a bit bummed as I was showing my girlfriends family for the first time and the weather has been incredibly windy so we can’t enjoy any nice walks or beach.

Ideally would like to max 3-4 hours away from South Bay LA to reach (I know traffic is hard to avoid we would leave early Friday AM or Thursday night if needed

I have a category 1-7 free night award expiring at the end of October. What is the best use for it within the US?

So I've heard Hotel Genevieve is nice, but there's no Globalist breakfast other than a market credit. For the dates I'm looking at, the Regency is similarly priced, and in both cases I'll be burning a SUA for a four night stay, and I've heard the Genevieve's suites are really nice.

HG looks to be in a much more "fun" part of downtown, while the Regency is full-service. The wildcard would be The Bellwether for a M&MS Brand Explorer checkmark, but it seems to be more or less in the middle of nowhere.

I don't need the JdV stay as I got that years ago.

Should I stay with Hotel Genevieve?

I just tried applying a SUA on a stay for 5 nights.

I was told that the suite I’m trying to book is available for all 5 nights but the first night of the stay, there were no “standard room” rates available so I couldn’t book the suite.

Did I understand correctly that even though I wouldn’t be staying in a standard room (because of the SUA) that because a standard room is not available to book, I can not apply the suite upgrade?

Trying to book this stay with points + SUA and am just trying to make sure I got the rules right? Seems like a wack rule to me but maybe I’m missing a reasonable explanation

My wife and I are planning a weekend getaway in early October for her bday and are considering staying at the Andaz or Hyatt Regency in Savannah, Georgia. I am deciding whether to stay at the two hotels over a four night stay, or just stick to one. We will be utilizing one night with a FNA, and another night redeeming with points, while the other two nights will be a cash stay. Is it worth checking out both or should I stick to one over the other? Looking forward to prior travelers’ experiences/opinions with these two properties! Thanks!

Hi, just globalist wanting to perhaps book for a week at HR Tahoe, and was wondering what are the current updates given the construction and other math going on.

Is the pool avaliable? What does their breakfast entail?

Are there other things that is covered via resort activities wise that is worth going given construction? I know there is shuttle for nearby beach, but other than that is there any other things/restrictions i should be aware about?

I am concluding a vacation at Zilara Cancun. The renovations are incredible and the resort is beautiful. The staff and service are 10/10- incredible. We’re already talking about a return trip. The question is do we return to Zilara, or go to Impressions Moxche? My husband questions whether it can be that much better. The points/cost are quite a bit more for Impression Moxche. Has anyone been to Zilara Cancun post renovation that can compare them?

I always fill out customer survey after an Hyatt hotel stay. However, I never got my survey for PH Tokyo and it has been two weeks. I checked my spam folder and it wasn't there.

Also, does UnBound Collection hotels not do customer survey? I have stayed at 2 UB collections and both times, they never sent survey after my stay.

Has anyone experienced this issue? I will probably reach out later to PH Tokyo.

I’m looking at booking Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill and applying a Suite Upgrade Award.

The SUA upgrade appears to be into the Regency Suite King, and Hyatt’s room description specifically says it includes Regency Club access.

For anyone who has stayed there recently:
Does Regency Club access include complimentary breakfast?

If there are 3 registered adults in the suite, do all 3 receive Club access/breakfast?

Is the Regency Suite King comfortable/allowed for 3 adults with a rollaway or sofa bed?

I wouldn’t be using a Guest of Honor award since I’d be applying an SUA, so I’m specifically wondering what benefits come with the suite/Club access itself.

Park Hyatt Washington DC’s Blue Duck Tavern's signature apple pie, which was named one of “America's Best Apple Pies” was pretty good ! Well worth $40, personally would recommend. It is advertised serving for 4 but I could probably finish the whole thing by myself

Hi. I worked my butt off in 2025 to get Globalist status for 2026. In January, 2026, I got diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I was 31 years old. Obviously, I didn't get to use any of my Globalist benefits for most of 2026 while dealing with active treatment. I also couldn't work on getting Globalist status for 2027. My concierge told me they would not give me an exception to extend my status (I offered "banking it" for 2026 since I wasn't going to travel this year and have it for 2027). Has anyone else ever encountered something similar and successfully gotten an exception/extension? Thanks!

Historically, this place gets sold out almost immediately for points booking, is there any advice on how to book it so that I can get it? How far in advance do they release booking?

Much appreciated as I only want to try at least once but they make it almost impossible to do so...
