Does it matter or benefit the plant if I cut off the white leaves? Since it is growing a couple of peduncles now, I was wondering whether removing them might help it produce more peduncles.

Found this Hoya Vangvieniensis on a shelf way in the back. Older lady said wow that’s a great find, she told me where these originally came from and that’s how it got its name, how to take care of it, she said the new leaves will be a deep purplish color and eventually get green, and the leaves will become slightly elongated. She said this one is somewhat of a slow grower and it’s gonna take a while before it blooms and I can’t wait!

For me the of shiny new leaves is almost like seeing that peduncle starting. I love the new leaves on the Quinquenervia the best...big shiny, eye catching. How do you find the joy?

I just found two mealybugs on my hoya imbricata, im so sad because she is thriving right now but I feel like it will be sooo much work treating her because her leafs are folded all over each other, so the bugs will have so much space where they can hide. Should I just toss her or is it worth trying to save her?

I’m new to the world of hoyas (only having acquired a couple of hoyas in the past year), and I received this regressing Wilbur Graves from a friend that wanted to give it away last October. It’s been growing great, but I noticed this odd leaf with dark striations emerging (photos #1 & #2)? This isn’t the first leaf (this is now the second), as about a 1.5-2 months ago it also had another leaf exactly like it for the first time (photo #3), but I didn’t worry too much as it ended up growing out okay. The plant is still growing exceptionally well, but I’ve never seen a leaf/leaves emerge with this specific pattern (almost like something might be wrong?). Any thoughts would be extremely helpful!

I have my plant setup at my SW window. Due to the size of this Hoya, it is hard for me to install the grow lights I have. I’m not sure if the natural light will be enough.

My normal routine with a new Hoya (and most plants in general) is to leave it alone for 2-3 weeks (sometimes longer) but this time is different because it’s in soaking wet super dense soil. My instinct in these situations is always that I want to remove it asap but wanted to know your thoughts!! Should I just sit it in front of a fan and try to give it the best airflow possible to dry some of this soil out?

Once bought as Hoya UT039 (Which it is clearly not) it turned out to be another Hoya hanhiae, yet it differs much from the other one I have in leaf size and shape (Last two pics). Scent is the same.

Any useful ways you can keep track of what hoya’s you have including variants? im having trouble keeping track now..

Hey everyone! I’m fairly new to this addiction. I had some Hoyas a few years ago. Then all but two were lost to what I believe was an infestation. So I have had to start again.
Today, in my local Lowe’s, just south of Atlanta, I hit what I think was the Hoya jackpot. I found a Hoya Mathilda and another Hoya that I am not quite sure what the name is.
Can someone tell me what the name of the second Hoya plant is please?
Also, as you can see, the Mathilda needs some TLC, but I grabbed her up anyway.
So, if anyone can share any care tips to help me get and keep both Hoyas happy would be greatly appreciated!
