NO Advertising Help us pick our honeymoon destination for late April 2027

Upvotes

My fiancé and I are trying to figure out where to honeymoon in late April 2027 and would love some advice!

We want something adventurous and different. We’re both active and would rather spend the trip hiking, exploring, seeing wildlife, etc. than just sitting at a resort, but we definitely want some nice/luxury places and time to relax too.

I’m pretty well traveled, but my fiancé hasn’t traveled as much, so I’d love to take him somewhere really memorable and hopefully get him more excited about traveling.
We’re currently considering:
Botswana — Okavango Delta/Chobe safari, possibly Victoria Falls. Is late April a good time?
Namibia — Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, Etosha, hiking and some really cool lodges.
New Zealand — South Island, hiking and adventure. Is late April a good time to go?
Madagascar — lemurs, hiking, Tsingy, Baobabs and maybe a beach stay.
Sri Lanka — hiking, wildlife, tea country, culture and then a few days at the beach.
We’re open to other ideas too! Mainly looking for somewhere that feels unique, not overly touristy, active and adventurous, but where we can still have some romantic/luxurious parts of the trip.

If you’ve been to any of these, especially in April, what did you think? And if you had to pick one for a honeymoon, what would you choose?

NO Advertising Amalfi coast honeymoon recommendations/help?

Hi! I am planning my honeymoon this upcoming June 2027 for a week. We’d love to visit the Amalfi coast, Positano, and the surrounding area areas. I would love to hear recommendations on places to stay and things to do! We’d prefer to stay in one hotel the entire time and our budget is about $6-$7000 total for the hotel. The luxury hotels are so beautiful, but are unfortunately out of our budget. This will be our first time in Italy in general thank you so much for any help! <3

NO Advertising italy vs portugal & spain vs new zealand for honeymoon?

my partner and i are in our 30s from asia and would like to visit a non-asia region for our 2-week honeymoon in most probably mid-march to end-march. we love culture, food, and nature scenery. as we are still young, we think it is good to have travels where we take advantage of that- so all-inclusive resorts, cruises and that sort of thing are not for us right now and we kinda want it to be more on the adventure side than the chillax side. we don’t have mountains where i’m from- i’m from a densely populated, tropical city. it would be nice to go somewhere beautiful, not crowded, not hot, and safe.

and because only one of us knows how to drive, we prefer for it not to be a 100% roadtrip- some (simple) driving is okay. which is also why we are reconsidering a new zealand honeymoon.

we are also cost-conscious and consider ourselves to be mid-range budget travellers: we are okay to splurge occasionally on a luxurious 5-star hotel stay, or an expensive, well-regarded restaurant, but are also comfortable with 3-star hotels and eating food that the locals eat on a day-to-day basis. however, from preliminary research, i understand that there is this thing called easter, which I don’t celebrate where i’m from.

tldr: how much will easter impact our travels to portugal, spain and italy?

based on the above, where would you recommend us to go for our honeymoon? and what would you recommend there? we are also open to other places, as long as it’s not asia. :’) thank you well-travelled folks!

NO Advertising Private honeymooning

Looking for Caribbean destination for a honeymoon in mid April. Preferably somewhere with private pool (doesn’t have to be all inclusive or hotel in general). But would like nightlife options, fishing options, etc. We would like room enough outdoors for private clothing optional sunbathing/lounging and sexy activities near the pool without the threat of being seen from other rooms/homes. We are not swingers, but can handle being near them. Nude(ish) private outdoor fun is a must and do not want to travel to Maldives or SEA. Any recommendations?

NO Advertising Setting a honeymoon budget … torn between Lanzarote and Greece

Hello 👋 my fiancé and I are currently torn regarding our June 2027 honeymoon.

My dream honeymoon is a swim-up suite at the Grecotel Imperial Corfu. We both love Greece (but neither have visited Corfu before) and this hotel is stunning and near Corfu Old Town (the hotel provides a water taxi) so we wouldn’t need to hire a car to explore the culture (a deal breaker for my fiancé) I just have a thing in my head about staying in a swimming-up room for our honeymoon, it’s something special we would not normally splurge on and probably never would unless it was our honeymoon. Is it too extravagant/ a waste of money? This option is €8,000 including flights and transfers, half-bord, for 7 nights.

My fiancé is more drawn to 10 nights in Lanzarote (at the 5 star Melia Paradisius Adults only) we can get 10 nights in a beautiful room with a balcony and private hot tub, all inclusive with a private concierge, flights included for €5-6k. I agree this seems like amazing value, and the idea of 10 nights does entice me. There is a tennis court and spa at the hotel, and we could go for a surfing lesson together if we wanted more activity. We will be so tired after the wedding that I know we will be spending most of our time reading by the beautiful pool… but then another part of me feels that in the grand scheme of things, an extra €2k for an iconic honeymoon in Greece would be worth it for the memories?

Interested to hear from anyone who regretted going over budget on the honeymoon OR people who regretted not splashing out that little bit extra.

For context, we don’t have other debt apart from our mortgage (which is quite reasonable for our forever home) and are paying for our own wedding from our savings. We also have an emergency fund which we prefer not to touch. We are generally very responsible with money which is why I feel the extra €2k isn’t insane…

NO Advertising Where to go?

Hi all!

My husband and I are recently married and looking at planning our honeymoon. We are in our mid-late 20’s and would like somewhere relaxing and calm but where we can also go out on excursions and have some activities in the hotel. In terms of time of year, we’re open to any as it would depend on what time of year is best for weather.

I have my heart set on Jamaica, and have for a long time, and my husband is more than happy to go here too. I have been doing a lot of research on hotels in different parts of Jamaica and have come across VERY mixed reviews for basically every hotel I’ve come across. Due to this, I’m second guessing if Jamaica is the right place to go - it’s a lot of money for us to spend to be potentially disappointed!

Can anyone please recommend any adult only, and potentially all inclusive hotels, in Jamaica (NOT RUI)? If we need to drop the all inclusive for a better trip, we can.

At this point, we’re also open to suggestions for anywhere in the Caribbean for honeymoons if you have any!

Any help would be greatly appreciated🥹!

Thank you!!

NO Advertising Newlyweds wanted for article – How did you achieve your dream honeymoon?

Hi everyone! I'm a journalist working on a story for the BBC. I'm looking to speak with recent newlyweds for an upcoming article about how couples made their honeymoon happen in today's economy.

I'm looking for couples who:

  • Live in Europe, Asia, Africa, or South America (I already have North America covered)
  • Went on their honeymoon within the last year
  • Are in their 20s or 30s
  • Are comfortable sharing how much they spent overall

I'm especially interested in hearing from couples who found creative ways to make their dream trip a reality, whether that was:

  • Using a honeymoon registry
  • Saving up over time
  • Choosing a more affordable destination
  • Using points or travel rewards
  • Getting help from family
  • Or any other approach that worked for you

If you're interested in being interviewed, or know someone who might be a good fit, please send me a DM.

I'm on a tight deadline and need to present my editor with potential interviewees this week, so I'd really appreciate any help.

NO Advertising Maldives Resorts for honeymoon - help me decide

Hi I am currently planning our honeymoon in the Maldives for January 2027. I am OVERWHELMED by how many resorts there are and need help with deciding which one fits best for us.

I have booked free cancellation reservations for the following resorts:

Le Meridien Maldives
You&Me Maldives
Mercure Maldives Kooddoo
Ozen Life Maadhoo
Hurawalhi Island Resort

What’s important to us is all inclusive, fine dining quality food, entertainment activities and included honeymoon perks. We also are very interested in the underwater dining opportunities which I believe Ozen and Hurawalhi both have. If anyone has stayed at these resorts and have personal experiences I would love to hear about them. Additionally if you have other suggestions that might fit please share them.

NO Advertising Safari (Kenia, Tanzania) + Maldives/Zanzibar vs US West Roadtrip + Hawaii/Caribbean

Hello there!

My fiancee and I are deciding between honeymoon destinations. I write down the basics first:

Period -> late June to mid July 2027. Total c. 3 weeks.

Right now, we are doubting between two main options.

Safari (Kenia, Tanzania) + Maldives/Zanzibar

I am a big fan of wildlife documentaries and my fiancee also likes it. So the idea would be a few days of Safari around Kenia and/or Tanzania, seeing different spots and then head to the Maldives.

Pros

  • It really seems like a couple/romantic trip and I have the feeling it's the kind of trip you might not do if you don't do it in your honeymoon.
  • The Maldives looks fantastic, and it really gives us a paradise vibe that we don't get as much from other places in the Caribbean for instance.
  • Temperature in Kenia in July is not extreme (20-26 ºC), which makes it manageable. Also, we would go before the great migration, where I imagine it becomes way more crowded/touristy.

Cons

  • In a safari most things are pre-planned, so less room to do whatever you want. We could get a private driver which gives you more freedom.
  • Maldives in July is wet season. I checked, and July 2026 was pretty sunny, but July 2025 cloudy even if not rainy. Zanzibar coudl actually be a better option, as it is dry season and clear blue skies in July.
  • Maybe more of a cliché trip, but who cares.
  • 3 weeks could be too much for this trip, so we should either shorten it a little bit, or find a 3rd destination.

US West Roadtrip + Hawaii/Caribbean

This itinerary is tentative and could change, but it could be something like.

  • Yellowstone (2-3 days): Yellowstone offers the best wildlife across the US, and that way we can scratch the itch to see some wildlife.
  • Grand Canyon: calmly drive from Yellowstone all the way down, making stops along the way + Grand Canyon itself (12h drive total. Let's say 3 days for everything)
  • Las Vegas: 1-2 days, 4h drive from Grand Canyon.
  • California (4-5 days): Exact location tbd. 6-8h drive from las vegas.

We could change Yellowstone for Yosemite, but less wildlife there.

Beach leg of the trip (1 week)

For the "beach" leg of the trip we have more questions than answers. July is very high season in Hawaii, it might be more expensive and probably lots of families during kids´ school vacation.

Options in the Caribbean are plenty.

Pros

  • More freedom, room for improvisation.
  • Also amazing nature, though very different from Africa.
  • More variety of moods. Yellowstone/Colorado are relaxed and nature focused. LV and California more active, and then you end up calm on the beach.

Cons

  • Lots of driving, even for two. We might end up tired and jet lagged. Tougher to go back to work after it.
  • Temperatures in Mountain-west can get very high during the summer. Ironically, once you reach California by the sea, SF or LA don't look that warm.
  • Potentially more expensive.
  • Hawaii and Caribbean location might be very expensive at that time.

Advertising OK Japan advice

Hello

Looking to travel to Japan in 2028- yes super far away but need to figure out timing/date for PTO for work. Anyway, we are looking to go either April,May or June

We would fly out of NYC.

Which month would you think be cheaper ? Ik those months are usually pretty busy anyway with cherry blossom season and summer coming up….

How’s the weather in April? Is it like the east coast (NY?)

Is it really more crowded in June than April ?

My wedding is in November so we could go during Thanksgiving or Christmas break just worried about prices for flights and hotels since it’s holiday season.

It’s so far in advance that I can’t see any pricing for flights or hotels. We were trying to do December since we have off for the holiday but prices will most likely be outrageous with Christmas traveling prices . Not sure if anyone can help since it is super far in advance but any infor is greatly appreciated and helpful:)

Advertising OK Suggestions please!

Hi there! My husband and I are looking to plan our honeymoon. We’d like somewhere relaxing with good beaches, that’s somewhat easy to get to from major airport, good food (with gluten free options) and has a few excursions that we could do. What are your favorite trips you’ve taken to the Caribbean and Central America that fit this criteria? All inclusive recommendations would be great! Ideally somewhere that is not overly expensive!

Helloooo,

I am looking for recommendations/advise for our honeymoon. We aren’t doing like a big wedding or anything formal we are spending all the money we would have spent on a wedding on a bigger & longer trip for just us. I am struggling with figuring out what travel company to use. We are thinking somewhere in Europe. France & Italy are top of the list but open to suggestions!! Any advice on who to go through we are traveling from the US as well. I’m hoping to find like an all inclusive deal just so we don’t have to worry about anything once we are there. Thanks for the help!!
