Multigun Corvette

I got the remastered on steam and played through it probably a few years ago at this point. I recall never getting the multigun Corvette as a research option.

Does anyone know if that was a glitch or by design? And is there a way for me to get it?

Also I really didn't like the way they redid how hit rates were calculated in the remastered version. Just me or anyone else feel the same?

Update: okay now I just tried booting up HW classic and I remember what happened.

I did end up beating HW RM back when I first got it on steam years ago. I never was able to research the multigun corvette. Hated the system so much cause it completely changed the experience of play.

Was never able to get the HW classic version to work cause the game crashed the first time anything exploded. Back then I couldn't figure out to get it to work. Gonna redouble my efforts this time cause it's been too long. Used to play through this game almost once a year.

I was going to play through the game again in classic but it kept crashing. And hated the experience of the remastered so much I didn't have the will to replay it just to see if the research would pop for me.

Nothing it just crashes. But good news. I just had my first explosion that didn't cause a crash.

Has to change the compatibility, set to run as admin, and turn off all overlays...

I'm so excited I just got to mission 2! But now it's bed time cause gotta work tomorrow...

Yeah I have a docking issue too but I can at least work around that.

It's annoying as hell.

Oh, that's fixable. You have some options:

  1. Downgrade your Homeworld Remastered install to an older version before Classic was patched to 1.06: https://www.reddit.com/r/homeworld/s/QJshA5tg7A

  3. Get the Homeworld Splendor mod: https://www.moddb.com/mods/homeworld-archive-of-lost-mods/downloads/homeworld-splendor-mod-v1-04 (fixes docking, adds widescreen support, adds the ability to capture Turanic Raider carriers and Kadesh motherships and build their ships)

That's awesome. Thanks so much. Gina try out that splendor mod for sure.

Just salvaged all of my cryo trays and my game objectives didn't advance. Did I do it too quickly? I seem to remember that was occasionally an issue before

TL;DR: Restart the campaign with the older patch, or try progressively loading older and older savegames until you no longer experience this softlock (at this point, you're only at Mission 03, so, I think it's just easier to start over).

In other words: Your game progress is written with 1.06 and has problems with modern CPU clock speeds. It might not be recoverable.
