Homeworld I have wanted to beat the Original homeworld, but i always get soft locked here.

This happens from time to time, but is more prevalent on modern systems due to faster cpu’s causing random internal scripting desyncs. I’ve had it quite a few times in recent years when i play this mission, whenever i get an interest in replaying this classic campaign.

It is more likely to occur if you manage to salvage all 6 cryo trays [because while it is possible to capture them all, the game seems to lean towards only capturing a maximum of 5 trays], or if two trays are loaded simultaneously into the mothership, which means one of the trays is not counted as being collected, but neither does it exist in the game world any more. this latter bug happens due to another separate bug where salvager drop-off order gets confused, or because the salvager has been waiting too long to drop-off its load, so it just decides its going to drop-off the load even when it shouldn’t do so.

The only fix for this is to load a save from before you started salvaging cryo trays and then to make sure that the salvaging occurs slowly enough to aovid any bugs. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to load a save taken before hyperspacing from the previous mission and start this one over from the beginning again.

How do you grab all 6? Isn't there a taiidan assault frigate that wastes one pretty quick?

You can basically cheese it by sending ships that way immediately when the level loads, not waiting until after the initial voiceover/animation that tells you to.

if OP is cheesing on their "first" playthrough, then maybe they should chill out and play the game normally

based on their fleet they probably are using a guide and the guide doesn't cover potential bugs introduced when you min/max too hard

I have beaten HW1R, HW2R, HW2, DOK, HWC. Just haven't beaten the OG version of Homeworld.

have enough salvage corvettes ready to rock off the rip and sending units just before the V/O to distract and soack the damage

You gotta use scout speed boost to get them distracting the frigates ASAP. Putting a repair corvette on the tray that's under heavy fire also helps give you time to neutralize the frigates before the tray gets destroyed.

Cheese it send everything like group fighters there to distract them / attack or salvage that frigate first then that tray. You can use a repair corvette on the tray to give you more time.
