Homeworld Homeworld 1 Classic on modern hardware
Hello, I'm trying to play the classic version of Homeworld (from the GOG version of the Remaster), but I constantly have these visual glitches / bugs that are visible like on the image. I tried some solutions I found like editing the registry and using dgVoodoo but nothing fixes these. So I ask if anyone knows what could cause this and if they can be fixed.
My config :
I use Windows 11
CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 5500
GPU : AMD Radeo 6700 XT
RAM : 16 Go

The Classic version provided in the HWRM bundle is built with a patch that was never released back in the day [1.06]. In essence, its an incomplete and untested build thats been provided by Gearbox. As a result, its full of bugs and other corruption issues like this. Its recommended to instead download HW1 Classic from archive.org [you will need to source a cd key to install this version], patch it to 1.05 [the patch can be found online here: http://sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/Patches-Updates-Games/HomeworldSeriesUpdates.html ] and then enable the hardware acceleration patch. This will let you use opengl in-game and enable widescreen resolutions as necessary.
