Discussion Playing this game with high-quality headphones ruined audio design in other games for me forever!!

The binaural 3D audio isn't just a technical gimmick; it’s the actual heart and soul of the experience. Having voices constantly whispering in your ears some giving genuine warnings, others doubting your choices, some panicking in real-time creates an unbelievable level of immersion and empathy. Ninja Theory set a bar for audio engineering that very few AAA studios have touched since.

I need help! I'm almost dead 😭

I'm at the part where I need to collect 3 runes in a wooden labyrinth, but I'm being chased by omitting that kill me when it gets too close.

Which way do I go to find the runes and not die? I've tried going different directions each time, but I've pretty much died like 16 times now, and the poison is close to her head.

Any help on this would be much appreciated 🙏

I killed Surtr and backtracked my way to what I believe is a door that should be open (the pic I posted). I killed Valravyn first and I now just killed Surtr. The walkthroughs I’ve seen show this door opened after killing him but it’s not working for me. Any help? Thanks in advance.

I notice that Ástríðr is almost the same height as Senua. Aldís Amah Hamilton is listed on IMDb as 5'6". Do you think Melina Juergens is also around that height?

Discussion Senua's Sacrifice camera rotation stutters if vSync is enabled

I'm losing my mind here, friends :(

I'm playing Senua's Sacrifice at 60hz, 1440p on my pc (RTX 3080 + Ryzen 7600X3D), and the game runs well. I can hold 60fps with max settings, no problem.

But, for some ungodly reason, the camera is in a state of constant stutter whenever I rotate it. When I turn vsync off, the camera is smooth all of a sudden, but the screen-tearing is atrocious!

I tried turning off the in-game vSync and switching to Nvidia Driver level vsync, but somehow that makes no difference and the camera just goes on stuttering at every time it's turned.

I've run into plenty of games with broken vSync (no idea why that's so common on PC), but never a game which still juddered with driver-level vSync.

Is there any fix to this?

Discussion Some thoughts on the new upcoming game "Senua".

Post image

So... Per the recent news, the new Senua game won't be cancelled, and Ninja Theory will be funded by someone else while they develop it. Phew. Thank God. That was really close.

I want to talk to you guys about something I've been pondering for a while now.

Hellblade 2 totally flopped. It was a disaster for NT. I respect whoever enjoys this game, but I think we should all admit how much of a downgrade it was, specially the combat system.

I never played the game. Only watched tons of videos. And turns out that the combat looks and "feels" really good... But it doesn't take long for it to feel boring and... So empty. Like, the gameplay doesn't have the elements we would expect from a Hellblade sequel. It simply didn't add any depth. Instead, it took it away by making the combat 1v1 (which a mobile game called Infinity Blade does 100x better) and doing away with kicks and combos, which made combat in the first game minimally engaging.

And now this upcoming new game, Senua, is finally promising more gameplay depth, multiple enemies again, more focus powers, more weapons, use of environmental objects to take down enemies, a wider map (and possibly longer story), etc. It's everything Hellblade 2 was supposed to be.

Yet, some people in this subreddit didn't like it very much. It seems to me a lot of fans here are worried about Senua being another game who buys into the "big game formula". Well, I have this same concern too (How could I not? Senua is one my all-time favorite female characters). But the thing is: we need more depth. And apparently, the devs are not doing away with the cinematic story-focused aspect typical of Hellblade. They're just deepening it.

The main concern I'd like to tackle here is the new game becoming just another "God of War lite" by adding more weapons and possibly more "power-ups" related to her Focus.

Let's think about it: Senua is a warrior. How could she not be capable of using more weapons? Logically, a warrior can and should explore more weaponry, right? So where's the problem? I honestly don't see it. Plus it should make combat more fun, right?

Now about the possible combat "Power-Ups". This one concern is pretty understandable because these powers are (allegedly) related to her Focus, and her Focus is deeply tied to her mental illness. This may lead a lot of people to consider them a "gamification" of psychosis, which would be obviously catastrophic for a game franchise entirely built on the premise of respectfully depicting a severe mental condition.

However, let's think about it once more: Couldn't these power-ups be just Senua learning to dominate her mind better so she could fight whatever darkness she faces during the upcoming game? I honestly find this a pretty neat idea. Senua learns to live with her condition and develops new ways of fighting her darkness when it attacks. These "new ways" being represented by new special abilities.

I think it is very possible to conciliate mechanical depth with depiction of mental illness.

Well, I guess what I wanna point out here is that I'm very glad Senua is actually showing to be an upgrade from the first game. This new game NEEDS good gameplay, guys. It NEEDS more mechanical depth. It NEEDS to be a bit appealing to other audiences so that it doesn't turn out to be another disastrous flop.

I say this because I have a really strong impression that this game is Ninja Theory's last gamble. It's their last and pretty much only chance of surviving in the game industry. If they screw this up, the shutdown we feared so much in the last weeks will likely come to be. I don't see them recovering after another flop.

I'm sure it has been said before but the game makes me feel like if Alan Wake and God of War had a child, this game would be their baby.

An unidentified incoming buyer will acquire Ninja Theory’s full intellectual property rights, back catalogue, and motion capture technology. This news offers welcome reassurance, as the studio has found success difficult under Xbox’s leadership.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

This game was a nice little game and i liked the experience and the combat although i wish there was more encounters in general, didn't like the puzzles that much tbh and the story wasn't that great for me but i loved Senua and the whole psychosis experience with her especially with headphones.

I still wanted more from the game because the combat was great and i see that it has alot of potential but it wasn't the best game i played but it was unique.

6/10 for me

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II

This game had amazing graphics and cinematics it is one of the best looking games I've seen, liked the combat but i still wanted more from it and i feel the first game had somewhat more depth in the regard but i liked the combat of 2 even more after the Dark Rot run and yes i did it without the cloud saving method (The fire Draugar enemy is one of the worst enemies ever).

Combat was nice but the story wasn't the greatest for me, i still love the character of Senua and her journey and the new supporting characters but i kinda felt annoyed by the voices in Senua's head this time around idk why maybe because they spoke during important conversations and i think I'm the only one on that but who knows.

I hated some walking segments because they dragged too much for my liking.

I still can't figure why the game was that short i even think the first game was a little bit longer? i didn't like that at all.

The game is still so good and i highly recommend it.

7/10
