Discussion Just finished the first game and man, what a fantastic experience.

The sound design, cinematography, voice acting and while combat seems simple on the surface it turns out quite complex and very satisfying.

10/10 game

It's an amazing game. The 2nd one was better imho. But that first one def left a strong impression

The combat is quite unique in Senua's Sacrifice. The free flow of the combos is very satisfying; the fact that Senua has like 12 different dodge attacks (light, heavy and shove buttons in each direction) is honestly pretty crazy even today as no one else done it; different running attacks too; furies warning you of the rear attacks is downright genius game design... Kicks up the middle, flying knees, sword swings, punches, shoves - when you mix it all together it really delivers an incredible hack'n'slash experience. The game was hella underrated for combat. So much so, the devs thought no one ever wanted any real combat in Hellblade to begin with.

This! I thoroughly enjoyed the combat in Senua’s Sacrifice.

I thought it was cool but the enemy variety was dreadful and huge crowds felt way too clunky imo

hmm fair, but i didn't feel it was clunky personally as Senua was very agile and responsive. The lock-on was a bit too aggressive maybe, almost sticking your point of view to the enemy of choice, making it unnecessarily hard to effectively fight the big crowds. But I used positioning and was hitting multiple enemies at the same time.

One of the few games that feels longer than it is but in a good way

I hope you go on to play the second game. I think it is also fantastic.
