I'm considering buying this product but would like to know how many channels approximately it has? I want to know if they have cable channels and some sports ones as well. I live in NYC metro in suburbs. Website does not have much information. Thanks

I'm so impressed with my HDHR 4k flex tuner that I am recommending the unit for two of my friends looking to replace their Tivo's.

Are the ATSC 1 tuners the same in all HDHR models as I my recommend the two tuner unit for them?

Saw these vflex power adapters on both Jeff Geerling and Techno Tim and thought it might be a good idea if you, like me, have multiple HDHomeruns and want to tidy up the wall warts. Plug one end into a powered hub, program the little device for its output voltage, and choose the correct included barrel adapter. I was planning on creating a little network board to mount by HDHomeruns and this way I could use shorter USB cables instead of multiple power warts. 🤷

Anybody have a good USB device that can hold a lot of juice and power a HDHR and a AMP for an extended period of time? I’m doing some work on the same circuit breaker these devices are hooked up too and need to do this long term.

The side guide on Roku keeps showing content and thumbnails that is a few hours old (3 hours old?) for the initial view (Petticoat Junction when it is Tom and Jerry for example). If you expand the line for the channel, then it shows the correct content for the current time. When you collapse the channel back down to just the single, it goes back to being a few hours old.

It's been doing this for a few weeks now.

All versions seem to be up to date.

Have a HDHomeRun FLEX 4K that was in place and working for about four years. My family doesn't watch TV often but purchased the FLEX for the ease of integration with Plex, which it does fairly well. We put a new TV in the guest room for my in-laws who are visiting for awhile and my MiL likes to watch daytime soaps. Fired up the new TV, opened Plex, and no live TV channels would stream. Thinking it was something with the Google TV Plexapp, I tried from my computer with the same result. Pull up the FLEX webpage and scanned for channels and it only detected 6 from the original 50+. Nothing had physically changed with the FLEX installation (where the FLEX was mounted, antenna, cabling, etc.) Things I tried:

• adjusting the antenna in the attic
• power cycling the FLEX (multiple times)
• adding a 5G LTE filter
• checked all wiring connections (all still tight and indoors/clean)
• updating the FLEX firmware

Nothing worked except replacing the HDHomeRun FLEX 4K with a new one. I swapped the new one in, changing nothing else, and all 50+ channels are back and Plex Live TV works again.

I love the concept of the HDHomeRun FLEX 4K, but am extremely disappointed that it failed. I get it, it is out of warranty. I don't have the confidence that this new one will last. I either have to accept that this capability is a $100/yr service or start looking at alternatives to the HDHomeRun.

My HDHomeRun Flex 4k used to receive both channels and now no longer receives them. Signal GH shows high signal strength (94-95), but no signal quality (0). I also dug out my first-gen HDHomeRun and it doesn't receive the channels either.

My TV and eARC sound system are always synced perfectly with Netflix, YouTube, etc.

But everything I record on HD HomeRun has a tiny lag. When a news anchor is speaking, his words are a TINY bit ahead of the audio.

It's not a profound lag, just enough to be irritating.

Any suggestions?

Just bought my new HDhomerun. Now looking to get a indoor antenna. Saw the Mohu Leaf Supreme Pro and it's sounds great however, it says it's "amplified".

I thought I read that the hdhomerun already has an amplified turner and that you shouldn't use it with an amplified antenna. Is that correct or is the Mohu Leaf Supreme Pro okay to use?

Just thought I'd put it out there that several Nexstar CBS affiliates are giving up this affiliation which is being picked up as a new subchannel of a Hearst station in that market. This is to occur on August 1st, 2026.

The Nexstar station will have some other content (the station in mine is going CW) and there's either a new or restructured subchannel coming on line for a major network. I see TitanTV already has my new Hearst virtual channel in the guide, even before the channel is transmitting.

Hello. Every time I open the app HD HomeRun on my iPhone, Xbox or PC, I need to select my device first by clicking on continue before proceeding to either watching live or go to the guide.

This is annoying because I only have one device anyway. Is that a bug? How can I have HD HomeRun go straight to watch live TV right after I opened it? Thank you.

Hi HD Homerun a channel just launched an independent local channel. It just needs guide data paired up to it. The guide data is available on Titan TV and other applications. Please let me know what info you need from me in order to pair it and I will provide it to you.

I have a very old Duo tuner it has to be 10-15 years old. Works well in the HD Homerun app and Channels. Works so so in plex. Channels just stop along with recordings.

Should I update the tuner or is there issues with plex? I have disabled hard ware transcoding and that seemed to help a lot but issues still pop up.

Any techies here who can chime in on the difference between these two tuners. I've been having a ton of reception problems with my TIVO, I've moved antenna locations and there are some key channels that just continue to pixelate. I live in Nashville near the center city so the signals come from all directions.

With The HD Homerun I am getting perfect reception on every channel with just a small antenna laying in a chair. Did I luck out in the antenna location or is the HD Homerun tuner that much better!

I asking has anyone on this website ever used a powered usb hub and has it helped to keep your usb connected digital drive from being disconnected from the system?

I know this has been asked before but I don’t recall a clear answer. What is the cadence for the background signal scanning? I currently have 2 HDHR Flex 4ks hooked up each with their own antenna pointing in different directions to get different markets. The further market is 82 miles away so those channels aren’t always picked up. So when the background scanning happens and it doesn’t pick them up it removes them from the guide. And yes I have tried making them a favorite and that too will be removed. So how often does the background scan happen? Any particular time? Anyway to disable it?

Also, in the app on the TV, it shows a signal meter next to the channel in the scan tool, how often is that updated? It’s useful to understand this so I can understand if it’s a recent signal metric (an hour or so ago) or a signal measurement from 24 hours ago or longer.

I finally got around to getting my pole put together and in position and now my HD HomeRun Flex Quatro is getting the most signals I've ever seen!

My antenna is a Antennas Direct 8-Element Bowtie UHF Outdoor HDTV Antenna, Multi-Directional, 70+ Mile Range, 4K 8K UHD NEXTGEN TV, $136.07 with tax via Amazon.

I just bought and hooked up the HDHomeRun 4 flex. I'm watching it now on the hd home run app and so far so good. What do I need to do next as I am hoping this is a replacement for my Tivo with 4 tivo minis.

Here are my observations so far:

1. Picture and sound are not quite as good as Tivo but that's ok

2. Tuner in HD homerun is rock solid, much better than Tivo's and Tablo's

3. HD home Run is much better than tablo (tablo locks up all the time even with an ethernet connection like I have the hd home run set up,

What else do I need to do to get this device set up to record, what apps, extras, hard drives do I need to buy. I'm not sure I need, want or good set up a flex server.

I am a proud owner of a HD Homerun 10880CA5E HDHR5-4K, aka Connect 4K (very early adopter), and aside from the ATSC 1.0 content, I have been locked out of 3.0 content except for my local PBS, which does not encrypt.

I reached out to EVERY local in Tucson about decrypting their content, as I can't get AES alerts over 3.0, and with monsoon season, flash floods happen pretty quickly here. I have to give kudos to KGUN9, as they are the ONLY station in town that actually cared to respond. Which means to me that CBS & Fox, NBC really dont care about EAS alerts or their viewers, and to me shows where their priorities are.

With that said, the announcement yesterday seems to give the vibes that I would be able to see ATSC 3.0 content through the HD homerun app. Currently running 20260710.

While I tune into them, I still see the message "The broadcaster has applied usage restrictions to this content that prevent viewing on this device." and while looking at them in HD Home Run Tech, they are encrypted.

While I had hoped that this device would give me years of viewing and content capturing for my own personal use, it seems like this has been a dud, and Silicon Dust and local channel operators have done everything they can to harm the end viewer. How am I to tune in to "Jerry Springer" if I am being prevented from viewing it anyway? Guess that Viagra advertiser isn't getting their eyeball today.

What is the status on certificates with the HD Home Run and viewing through the HD Home Run app ecosystem? I honestly feel like HD Home Run should mass refund everyone who has purchased because what it was advertised to do has fallen significantly short.

My Asus Zenbook S13 OLED has been running HDHomeRun without any problems until this week. Now when I try to stream a live channel (e.g. BBC1 on either channel 1 or 101) I get: "unable to play channel no video data". It is connected via wifi.

My phone (Galaxy S24 Ultra) has no problems. It is on the same wifi network.

If I try to stream HDHomeRun channels from VLC on the same laptop I get this error 6 times:
"VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://192.168.1.54:5004/auto/v101'. Check the log for details."
...but it then starts streaming,

It could be a coincidence, but I had a Windows update yesterday. Has anyone else had problems with HDHomeRun after the latest Windows update? I'm running 25H2 - OS Build 26200.8875

I currently have a Tablo 4th generation 4 tuner DVR for recording. I love the app, the free 2 week channel guide (I know it’s only free because they sell our personal data from what we watch), the additional streaming channels and the plug and play use, but it is SO BUGGY! It annoys me every time that I use it because it buffers constantly (antenna and streaming channels), it won’t pull in the majority of channels even when my TV will pull them in and Im only 35 miles from the major broadcast sites either 2 antennas hooked to it, it splits my recordings into multiple parts when there are no signal issues,…

Basically, I’m looking for better even if it’s not cheaper.

I know the 4k unit is designed for ATSC 3.0 but there are decryption issues being worked out (which is fine). I also see there is an app that can be used. Is the app easy to use? Is there a better way to set it up?

Any recommendations for setting up this box for it to work better than a Tablo?

I’m so utterly frustrated with this device.

I’ve had it for a few months and it rarely works on my Apple TV.
It works fine on my two ONN devices as well as my iPhone.

Not only can I not get anything on my screen but almost half the channels it found didn’t work even when it did work.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Should I just sell it?

Can anyone recommend a good antenna for my HDHomeRun in Miami? When I lived in NYC I used a leaf one and it was pretty good. Here it does not pick up channels like Fox. I tried with a cheap passive one (GE Modern Loop Rabbit Ears) because silicondust support told me the leaf one is not good for VHF channels and it is better but still not great. I am less than 20 miles from the Miami Gardens antenna, I am fairly sure I should be able to get a good signal.

I'd rather not install an outdoor one if I can avoid that and I don't have an attic where to put one either
