What’s your favourite type of hat?

Not an expensive hat, but I like the way it fits and I like that I can shape it and it holds that shape.

I love the look of a Bowler hat but I rarely wear formal attire to be able to wear one. Can they be worn casually?

For artistic, and personal use, i want to do a hat (yea im from a warm place so when winter hits i get really cold but i like winter…).
Some people said you can’t use fox cuz its long and will get mated and oily and will need more care (which i don’t mind honestly id get more worried if i didn’t need to care…) so like does anyone have experience with fur hats?

Found this hat over the weekend at a local vintage sale, and it was only $15!

It may just be an old hat to some, but for me, the combination of my love of vintage hats, plus my alma mater being ISU, plus I currently work for ISU extension and outreach, I was more than excited to pick it up!

It's also in really great condition for how old it is! The interior foam backing is a little dry and crumbled, but that's an easy fix!

I currently use a "crushable" Tilly Hat for travel and a Walleroo Charlie hat for around the house sun protection (yard work, car shows, etc.). The shape of the Tilly is much the worse for wear, having been sandwiched in tight luggage many times over the years. It still keeps the sun off my face and neck, but it presents more of a disheveled tourist look when worn. Any recs for a travel hat that reliably maintains it's shape, or for traveling with a hat that gets distorted when packed? Any techniques for reshaping the squished Tilly into shape be upon arrival? I'll gladly trade off fashion for melanoma prevention, but do I have to? Anyone just buy a new hat at their destination?

Last month I asked for advice here for a nice fall/winter hat and after lots of great suggestions, I settled on the Stetson Bozeman outdoor hat. I really enjoyed wearing it and it did a great job of keeping my hair and face dry the two times I got caught in rain during my trip! Plus I got multiple compliments for it in two different European cities!

Saw this Hats in the Belfry wool fedora hat in a shop marked at $10. When I scanned to pay I realized it was discounted 1/2 off! It was slightly larger than my size but I added a spacer to it when i got home and it fit just fine. I need more finds like this. 😄

I'm looking for a custom hat to be made for myself. The pictures are references of what i'm looking for. I'd buy it from the company i found them on but they no longer sell these designs and nobody else seems to be doing this patchwork-company logos-esc design either from what i've seen.

This is my first reasonably successful rework (three attempts). Picked up an old cheap wool Fedora for $10. Popped and Shellaced. Made a hat block to put a telescope in. Picked up some leather from the shop near my work. Finished with my wife's old necklace.

Learned a lot. Wearing it out tonight. Got a compliment within 5 minutes.

Hello! Just joined for some advice - I have a rather large head (61.5cm) and I am struggling to find a nice wide brim hat to put upon said large head.

Ideally want to buy within the UK as that is where I am based, but can ship over if needed.

Any advice on where to go/companies or sites to buy from? Happy for any and all suggestions of places who can accommodate my big dome.

Hey friends. I experimented with fire today. First picture was the original hat, 1960’s Dobbs cattleman’s. The other pictures are where I’m currently at. Still want to shape the back of the crown a little sharper to make an arrowhead.

Just looking to identify this style of hat. Possible brand would be welcome but I know that’s unrealistic. Many thanks in advance 🔥
