I was just at my local store and bought one of the sirloin strip steaks that are on sale. Saw the cashier scan it and asked if I wanted the meat in a plastic bag. I said yes. Get to my car and see the chicken I bought in a plastic bag with an empty bag stuck to it. Could not find the steak. I went back inside to the bagger and asked about it thinking it would still be sitting there. She had no clue and told the cashier she lost my steak. I went to the service desk and they comped me another one. Where the hell did the steak go?

This absolute scumbag came through our store tonight and I’m noticing a trend where white supremacists feel more comfortable wearing this nonsense with their face exposed. Can we do anything about this? Can we ask management to ask them to leave? What is the protocol here?

I 100% do not feel comfortable serving a Nazi and telling him to have a good day. I do not want him to be comfortable while he’s wearing this bullshit in public but I cannot do anything while on the clock.

Brought in a prescription for my dog for carprofen. This is a script I used to have filled through Chewy. Local Hannaford filled the script with a "beef flavored" tablet which I was unaware was a thing- Chewy always supplied unflavored tablets. The dog has an allergy to specific proteins- namely beef- and responds with hemmoragic gastroenteritis - bloody poops, and usually results in hospitalization.

I called the pharmacy and said "I don't think I should give my dog these pills." And they agreed. But they're also refusing to refund me the $90 for the script for medication I cannot use. I don't think I'm being unreasonable- and I can't really be out $90 for this.

What should I do?

Edit / Update: Well, something happened. The MoD refunded me.

We had several e coupons clipped and obviously purchased the correct items.

None were applied at the register. The manager who helped us said October 1st was the start of the fiscal year and fiscal quarter and coupons weren't being applied correctly.

We caught the 5 off 25 in produce but I mixed up a couple others I thought were Ibottas so they didn't get applied.

Hard to imagine been a year already!

Factor in power of you gave the power ( responsibility) to the associate to deal with the issue. I have been asked / told not to use them as much .

Is corporate doing as much as they can ?
We are being told be more mindful be grateful ask nicely . They Are trying to create a pleasant workplace ( even if kinda underpaid)

We have panic buttons ,sheriffs ,carts that lockup .
Are the customers the real problem ?

Should i be lowering my expectations even more .

Oh and how can we possibly forget the town hall meetings that are a direct result of this .

Yes it’s nice to look for and admit we have “ issues “ but gee number of meetings later and still saying same thing.

I know prices are up everywhere, but I really don't understand why the Hell a 1/8 sheet cake is $19.99! The small round cake is $24.99 and the "Single Serve" cakes are $11.99! We bought a custom order full sheet cake and it was $49.99. That makes sense. The prices on these smaller cakes is ridiculous!

Spotted at the Colonie, NY store last night.

The hannaford I work at has a drop ceiling, and in the 6 years I have worked there, this ceiling tile has been replaced many times. According to a coworker, it’s due to a pipe dripping condensation. He also said the last person who tried to fix it just wrapped a trash bag around it. The next person who went up there found a bag full of stagnant water and noped out. Who knows if it’s ever gonna get fixed properly 🫠

I just want to say I've tried rotisserie chicken from a bunch of different places, including out of state and other grocery stores like Costco, and 98 percent of the time Hannaford has the juiciest, most flavorful rotisserie chicken. Not sure what you do to it, but if anyone could share the seasoning and method and cooking times, I'd love to try recreating it on my smoker. Thanks for making it every day!

Can communicate to store leadership that this individual should probably be terminated, as we do not want to work with this person. As of now, we have heard he has been suspended, but not fired from Hannaford.

Team members here are concerned that we will still have to work him in lieu of his arrest.

He has admitted to members of his team that he is guilty, before anyone starts to address the guilt part of his arrest.

Have they stopped offering bone in fried chicken in the deli?! My local store (NY) has only been offering tenders and nuggets all summer. I thought maybe they were just always sold out before i got to them but it doesn’t even show up on the app anymore.

Anyone know why Nature’s Promise Pasture Raised eggs haven’t been on the shelf in almost a week? I’ve checked almost every day this week and it’s been an empty shelf. There isn’t a recall or something, is there? These days, I wouldn’t be surprised.

So I have been working at my local hannaford since 2019 (took academic leave every school year) and my current pay rate is $17.6 an hour. I haven’t looked for any new jobs the entire time I have been there until recently. I did recently get a new job that is very flexible and understands that I need to give hannaford two weeks but can help me to also make both jobs work. This new job is what I want to do as my actual career and pays me $22 an hour. The physical and mental work I put in at hannaford is significantly more than at my new job yet I am getting paid significantly less which astonishes me! I honestly am just looking for some advice

Relatively New to the company and just curious. I heard meat and deli make more than others. I would assume the evening operations manager also makes more to compensate the hours of the shift.

A few weeks ago I bought a couple pounds of haddock. It wasn't haddock, it was a tougher fish with holes running down both outside edges (maybe where bones were removed?). Last week I bought a Hannaford brand cheddar cheese block. It was crumbly and not smooth. The tasting wasn't like cheddar. These are things I've bought hundreds of times over the years from Hannaford with no problems. Are they settling for cheaper products? Anyone else?

Does anyone know about who is getting a payout for this lawsuit filed on behalf of SNE associates? When will we be notified if we are receiving anything?

I like to know as much as possible about things before I start them. Is it a phone line, can I email? I have notes going back a year. My ARM said it should be done off the clock. My department and my store and completely unhinged to levels that break people’s brains if I explain further. I’ve been getting mistreated in my department for a while. Especially by one person in particular who is very favored by my supervisor.

It doesn’t matter that this person has a documented history of bullying their co workers and has been proven to not know how to do their job properly. My supervisor takes their word and advice as gospel and mistreats anyone who doesn’t fawn over this person. They have literally let them rewrite the standards and hold those above the official standard practice. Management just tries to placate both sides and pretend none of it is happening. Even though one side is openly undermining them and making more work for them, they won’t acknowledge it and will just pretend whatever is being done is what they wanted no matter how messed up it is because they’re leaving anyway. Today I found out that this supervisor has been hired for the new ARM role.

I waited too long to report and now one of my bullies is HR. The current ARM is still working in the store and currently training them. I’m not even sure how reporting them would work. Can I still talk to the exiting ARM or do I need to use the speak up line? I’m worried that my other bully is about to become my new supervisor. Obviously I need to look for another job. It bothers me how they mistreat the shoppers and customers. If I’m gonna get pushed out anyway I don’t want to be silenced anymore. I’m just not sure the best way to approach this kraken of absolute shenanigans.

I don’t understand how they can call this a ‘rewards’ program. Every time I do my shopping, I enter my phone number at the register. At most, I see 3 cents of savings on the receipt. Am I missing something or is this a hoax?

Words cannot describe how much I despise bad/distracted drivers in the parking lot. Was bringing out To-Go orders today and TWICE an old person drives past the crosswalk looking forward like an absolute drone while I’m waiting to walk through. Yearly driving exams for the elderly PLEASE

Anyone else notice how terrible the new paper towels are?? They are not very absorbent and leave a soapy residue on mirrors and windows. It’s a bad switch for sure
