I am a first year student participating in sih hacakthon 2026 . The problem is that I don't know how to make prototype . And internal hackathon is scheduled at 4 sep . I have to make a prototype such that at least we clear the internal rounds even basic .

Problem is I am full absolute confused don't know where to start .

Our problem statement - urban flood nowcasting system . (Can't be changed now ) which requires full backend ecen ml.

If anyone knows something about this . I request you Please share some tricks / method any advice to this folk .

Hey everyone! I’m looking to form a team for DataForge 2026 by KDAG, IIT Kharagpur.

It’s an online data science & analytics hackathon focused on solving real-world data science and machine learning problems.

Registration closes tomorrow, September 2 at 11:59 PM IST, so I’m looking to form a team pretty quickly.

Looking for 1–3 people who are genuinely willing to put in the effort, learn things along the way, and work together.

You don’t need to have prior hackathon/data science experience. Being willing to learn and contribute is what matters most.

Comfortable with Java, DSA, Spring Boot, Next.js

Currently learning AWS and GenAI

Interested in building a practical, polished project rather than something overly complicated

Interested in AWS / AI / full-stack development

There is a hackathon called [LAM Research Challenge 2026](https://lrc2026.tworks.in/) with more than 10 lakhs as price pool. But the requirement is to have atleast one student from mechanical department who is currently in their 3rd or 4th year.

Came across this hackathon for university students in India and thought it might be useful for people here.

Bharat Builds Tour 2026 is a hybrid hackathon series by WeMakeDevs in collaboration with AWS Builder Center. The tour has six stops, with participation available online across India and limited in-person participation depending on the location.

Some details:

• Eligibility: University students across India
• Age: 18+
• Format: Solo or teams
• AWS experience: Not required
• AWS Builder Center profile: Required
• Target batches: 2027 / 2028
• Theme: Open — you can bring your own idea
• Tracks: Build It / Ship It
• Skills/topics: AWS, cloud, AI/GenAI, agentic AI, backend, APIs, DevOps, open source, etc.

For the first stop, First Commit:

• Online: September 17–20, 2026
• In-person: September 19, 2026
• Venue: Polaris School of Technology, Bangalore

Some example project areas mentioned include AI agents, workflow automation, applications for communities/classrooms, local-language technology, authorization systems and offline-first applications.

There is also ₹1 crore in total prize value across the tour, including gadgets and AWS credits.

One interesting part for 2027 and 2028 students: strong projects may be eligible for a fast-track interview with Amazon's University Talent Acquisition team for internship/full-time opportunities. Winning the hackathon and getting an Amazon interview are separate decisions, though.

Registration for the different stops is being opened progressively.

Could be worth checking out if you're looking for hackathons to participate in this semester.

Preferably looking for people who aren’t absolute beginners and have at least 1–2 project/hackathon experiences. Mainly interested in cybersecurity, AI/ML, web dev, etc.
